Kanye On Today; Matt Lauer Responds

Here’s the interview that sparked Kanye West’s Twitter rant yesterday. It’s a shame that Ye’s album is being released in less than two weeks and instead of promoting it, he’s being used as a pawn to help push George Bush’s memoir, Decision Points.

Later in the clip, Today host Matt Lauer responds to Kanye’s gripes and says the rapper is scheduled to perform for the network on Black Friday. Good luck with that.

So Appauled. Kanye is way too easily offended. He does have a great cd though, even if we have heard 80 percent of it. Im loving All of the Lights. I would have liked Drakes verse on it

  2. mmkayy says:

    wa-wa-wa…thats all i hear…

  3. ben says:

the today show does not care about black people.

  4. K GRIZZLY says:

it is what it is all they wanted him to do was say sorry to bush….but kanye got a cd coming out and bush got a book now all this happens ummmm i dont know lol

  5. Errol says:

He didn’t call him a racist he just implied it… and that was 5 years ago when Kanye dropped Late Registration. Get over it. Shouldn’t a low point for Bush be when we didn’t find any weapons of mass destruction? When the economy collapsed? When his appoval rating was like 25%? stfu George W.

  6. AroN says:

good for him man. i really respect this man. he speaks his mind exactly and shows his emotion. they know hes prone to controversy and they were simply trying to get a rise out of him, hoping he would lose his temper again and freak out. whatever the man does outside the music world is unimportant to me. he makes classic music and i cant wait for nov. 22

  7. smh says:

Uh ok so now Bush is cool? Fuck that retraction about “George Bush doesnt care about black people” cause it was and is TRUE! What the hell man? And Kanye you know what you’re biggest weakness is? It’s that you car 2 much what people’s opinions are about you. That’s how after the fact Jay Leno and Matt Lauer etc… feel comfortable enough to son you on TV. Let’s not forget BUSH is the mofo who drove this country strait into the ground not Obama it’s funny how people seem to forget that smh

  8. smh says:

Apologize to Bush??!?! When is Bush gonna apologize to everybody shiiiiit fuck politicians.

  9. Lioness says:

whoa…i can see y kanye was mad….Matt went in…pay attention to his use of language

  10. Bishop says:

Man I feel for yeezy. He was being set up too look like an idiot. He is a sensitive dude and needs his appreciation and full attention, its funny seeing him talk back to Matt Lauer while on TV. Thats why hes the biggest badass in the game right now. He speaks his mind and hes got balls. Bush doesn’t care about black people, and black people dont care about bush. Obama ni99a!

  11. Lioness says:

my favorite part is that Kayne would not apologize and Matt was trying to make him do that. Ha

  12. Argenys says:

I think Lauer, Bush, and Mr. West are all at fault here. But lets get real Matt was not the one who set everything up. And Kanye did not handle the situation the proper way. That shows me that he has changed but is still fighting other things still. No one is perfect but man he didn’t have to react that way. Just get through it and that’s it.

  13. Buxdagreat says:

lol @ bishop … lol did u really call kanye west a badass?… im sorry i thought found dat use of word for him was hilarious

  14. Alex says:

I’m not racist (i’m white). I have a lot of really close black friends and in my mind I believe in equality. When Katrina happened, Bush had to wait for the Louisiana Governor to ask the Federal government for assistance before they could help. That is the law. It took too much time for the Governor of Louisiana to ask for help. Bush was on Air Force 1 because if he landed then it would take away the resources that were helping in order to be Bush’s security. It isn’t Bush’s decision to have all that security….it’s just that way. Read his book and you’ll understand.

  15. Argenys says:

I personally don’t think Bush hates black people. I think he isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed which led him to not respond in the best possible way, and his policies catered to rich people, which helped cause the Great Recession.

  16. Chuma Okafor says:

I don’t know how to respond to this. I understand that they do the same thing for every other person that walks on the today show. But didn’t Kanye just say that was something that he regretted in his life, so why would he go on playin’ the clip in front of

  17. iHATEhaters says:

SEE THIS IS WHY IM NOT A FAN OF HIM , IM A FAN OF HIS MUSIC BUT THIS GUY BUGS THE SHIT OUT OF ME, WHY DONT HIS AGENTS OR PR MAKE HIM NOT DO THESE TYPES OF INTERVIEWS HE JUS COMES ACROSS AS AN ASSHOLE. . YEEZY U SHOULD JUS KEEP TO MAKING MUSIC AND FUCK THE MEDIA INTERVIEWS

  18. Chuma Okafor says:

in front of Kanye, Is that fair? I mean would anyone like to be shown a clip of a act they regreted in their lifes? Put yourself in other peoples shoes…

  19. BrooklynRaw2FU says:

YEezie gangster he said turn that shit off dont let it happen again when im talking lol

  20. Who? says:

Mann, fuck those peeps at that show man.
That guy laaauuuuurr did some nasty shit.

  21. BeamMeUpScottie says:

It makes sense to me that they showed the clip, but with audio?? Thats a bit much. I still think he is easily offended.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ni6ZEyTCGus

  22. kofi says:

It really wasn’t all that bad Ye, although Matt did seem like he was trying to pry the words “I’m sorry” out of his mouth also it seems like that video was heavily edited for whatever reason. We’ll see if Def Jam can convince Kanye to show up for that performance after Thanksgiving because they don’t invite a lot of rappers to perform on the Today Show and that would be a great look for him.

  23. haha says:

The Today’s Show host Matt Lauer punked the shit out of Kanye!

  24. foekist says:

Kanye the whole world is laughing at you. UR such a dickhead man

  25. sidhowRaheem says:

From now on Kanye should only do interviews where the questions are directly related to his music or the other projects he’s working on…..he’s said all that can be said on the topics of George Bush, Taylor Swift and Award Shows……no more appogies needed lets all move on.

  26. foekist says:

….u really do bring this all on yourself. u say ur a creative person. make music and shut the fuck up. Do urself a favour and read that again. MAKE MUSIC AND SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!

  27. Bmjac says:

Oh please people. Kanye did that shit at the VMAs it will be a part of his history and he has to deal with it. It can’t be erased. So he needs to figure out how to handle it with grace. However his label and PR person should never have allowed this interview. They put Kanye in a bad situation. Matt did what he does everyday on the show. Def Jam/Mngmt and Publicist are to blame, not Kanye. They should know his personality well enough to know which interviews work and which dont…..

  28. BEN10 says:

IT WAS ALL A FUCKING … SET UP SO BUSH COULD PUSH HIS BOOKS 200.000 SOLD SO FAR …MATT AND BUSH USE THAT OLD SCHOOL POLITRIX ON KANYE…DONT FALL FOR THAT SHIT KANYE THATS WHAT THEY DO USE U ABUSE U AND HAVE U TAP DANCE FOR THEY ASS …FUCK PERFORMING FOR THEM AND CANCEL THAT SHIT …PLAY THEM NIGGAS BACK

  29. foekist says:

    BODY-LANGUAGE LESSON ONE:
ANYONE THAT COVERS THEIR MOUTH WHILST TALKING IS LYING TO YOU.

KANYE IS NOT ONE BIT SORRY. HE IS JUST SORRY THAT HE IS GETTING BAD PUBLICITY. THE ONLY PERSON HE REALLY CARES ABOUT IS HIMSELF. THAT’S WHY I HAD TO LAUGH OUT LOUD WHEN I READ HE THOUGHT ABOUT KILLING HIMSELF. THAT WAS A STATEMENT DESIGNED TO MAKE ALL YOU STANS GO- OHHHHH, POOR KANYE!

    THIS GUY IS A IDIOT.

  30. Realniggashit says:

I see they Edit that shit so Matt Lauer don’t look like a asshole

  31. flawda says:

Bush doesn’t hate black people, only simple minded niggas think he does. Bush is just an elitist and classist period, he only respects money and power. It’s pretty obvious what Matt Lauer was doing, he was trying to create another story, but Kanye handled it well. I bet Kanye went over what was to be discussed in the interview (his album), and they switched it up with him. Kanye should just get his own people who is comfortable with interviewing him.

  32. HAHAHAHAHA says:

KANYE WEST NEW ALBUM > Eminem’s last 3 albums combined

  33. Beezy says:

It’s too bad that one of the most incredible album’s I’ve heard in years may get overshadowed by this interview. I could see this marginally hurting his sales in the short run. Regardless he still made a classic album and is the most creative in the game right now.

I’m a fan of Kanye’s music but dude needs some serious media training. I couldn’t see Jay or 50 getting backed in a corner like that in an interview. Speaking from the heart is not always the best route in these situations.

    He’s still that dude tho.

  34. AnuKiNSkywalker says:

Yo fuk that I hope kanye drops another ablum for spring and summer.

  35. SHADY says:

    Kanye West is a FAG

  36. Word says:

    @foekist

Cosign. Kanye was hella unformatable and I think he was lying about some stuff too. Lack of eye contact, covering his mouth, stuttering, these aren’t made up signs to tell when someone is lying or uncomfortable, this is fact.

Anyway, Fuck Kanye as a person. Never really liked dudes ego, and he always tryna make it seem like he the victim but when he victimizes people its okay? Then when people call Kanye out, they the bad guys for calling him out? Fuck Kanye. Like your music though, and thats all I care about is your music, but fuck you as a person.

  37. Bmjac says:

They just said on today show there was an edit because kanye would sit silent for a minute or more and then respond….. I say again, his team should have never allowed this. I took the hand over the mouth as Kanye trying to control what he was going to say, but topic clearly holds too much emotion for him.

  38. Cinsere says:

Ok, at least I have some context now, where as before I could only go on Kanye’s twitter rant, and I really thought like the rant was on some “woe is me, why does everyone hate me” sensitive shit. But looking at this now, I can totally see why Kanye was mad. I would be too! He’s a musician with a highly anticipated album coming out. But they invite him up, essentially, as a tool to promote ex-President Bush’s fucking memoir. Now, despite all the atrocities committed by this man (Bush) and his administration, they have to paint Kanye as the bad guy here… as WORSE than Bush. The guy is a fucking entertainer… Bush was the leader of the “free world!” ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?! This shit makes me sick for real, cuz EVERYBODY knows how shitty of a president Bush was… that he squandered this nation’s money on an unfounded war… that he supported torture as a means of interrogation… and yes, that he seemed to not give two shits about the victims of Katrina. But because Kanye snatched the mic from an all-american sweetheart, HE’S the bad guy out of the two. He has to look at Bush and see how sincere and hurt he is, and apologize. GTFOH!!! Where’s Bush’s apology to the American people?! Where’s Bush’s apology to the Iraqi people?!

As for the playing of the Taylor Swift clip… yeah, I suppose that’s standard… but after the shit they were trying to pull on Kanye this whole interview, and how they were clearly setting him up as the bad guy for something that happened FIVE YEARS AGO and is ONLY in the headlines again because this ass-hat Bush has a fucking book coming out, all the while Kanye’s album wasn’t even brought up… yeah, I’d be fucking mad too, and whatever happened from here on out in the interview would all be bullshit to me. So you know what, yeah, I know what happened with Taylor Swift, you ain’t gotta play that shit again, dickhead!

I really thought Kanye was on some oversensitive shit when I saw the tweets. My bad Kanye… you’re absolutely justified in your reaction, cuz they did you dirty, fo’real!

  39. Jpilk293 says:

I rock wit a warrant but i aint no politician!!!!!

  40. cjones says:

damn they even spelled yeezy’s name wrong in the caption when they rolled they t-swift video

  41. Certifiedone says:

I don’t think Bush is racist though, I mean was he supposed to go in the river with his little paddle boat to save niggas? Nah, as I said before on some post about this, George Bush was the president. He’s not a one man rescue team, they have shit for that. If Obama was president when that happened would you see his ass down there helping cats? Hell nah, he’s a president not a rescue team. Moving on. What about those mayors and governor over there? They were warned to evacuate everyone, but they didn’t do it. The blame goes to them. More cats would have been saved if they knew it was coming.

Musically Kanye is possibly a genius. Personally Kanye is a jackass, once you get called a jackass by president Obama, it’s finished. Not only that but I think Kanye might be a little jewish, nigga always complaining about something. “I didn’t get this award” “Bush doesn’t care about black people” “I’mma let you finished Taylor but Beyonce had the best video of all time” “My answer was forced”

So Kanye fuck off, nigga you suck.

  42. smh says:

Nah Kanye woulda been a badass if this woulda happened:

“Well Matt I said it before and I will say it again…”

    *stares into camera*

“George Bush doesnt muthafrrrruckin care about black people. Fuck you George and stop tryna use my name to sell your tired-ass book. But since we talkin where the weapons of mass destruction George? Where they at? The fuck happened to the economy George? Got these muthafuckas all up my ass tryna to get me to apologize for a true statement matter a fact…”

*while still staring into the camera bitch slaps this shit outta Matt Lauer causing him to fly outta his seat crashing into the side camera*

    “Flashing lights, lights, lights, lights…”

    *takes a sip of water*

” Muthafucka gonna tell me I crossed the line… Don’t you know i’m from the Wishanigga Woods? Now that’s how a muthafucka takes a hike. Shhhhiiiiit ”

    *looks at own hand*

“No one man should have all that power.”

    *stares back into the camera*

“See what you made me do George… You fuck with the College Dropout you get knocked the fuck out. Remember that cause if I come for your ass it won’t be shoes you’ll be duckin and then you’ll really be Feelin’ like Katrina with no FEMA.”

*smacks camera away walks off set yelling*

“That was the greatest interview of all time!!”

  43. Truth83 says:

its evident kanye is the type of person who knows what their talking about but he cant put the words together in live interview to say it.

at the time kanye really wanted to say is that, with all the military might of united states and for us not to be able to get water to the stadium and the hundreds of people who died after the fact is just plain absurdity. kanyes feelings came out to that the only reasonable explanation was “bush didnt like black people”. Instead of “bush run of the situation sucks ass”

  44. ZoomZoomDad-Otis says:

Bush is NOT a racist he just plain DUMB. Matt Lauer YOU the man ! Kanye got OWNED.

  45. ZoomZoomDad-Otis says:

lmao@” THAT’S WHY I HAD TO LAUGH OUT LOUD WHEN I READ HE THOUGHT ABOUT KILLING HIMSELF. THAT WAS A STATEMENT DESIGNED TO MAKE ALL YOU STANS GO- OHHHHH, POOR KANYE”

  46. LukeCage says:

Who is that cunt next to Lauer? All like “doesn’t seem like a big deal” under her breathe and shit.

  47. Keith says:

I fuckin love Kanye West. LOL @ Matt Lauer’s fake grin when he says he looks forward to Kanye’s performance at the plaza, and then he throws down his pen.

“I didn’t need you guys to show me the tape in order to prompt my emotions…I don’t need all the jazz.”

“Yo, how am I supposed to talk if you’re going to run the thing in the middle of what I’m talking?….Please don’t let that happen again.”

  48. GAY-Z says:

    KANYE IS A PORCH MONKEY

  49. Ac@pella! says:

  50. asdasdf says:

    Matt Laurer is ignorant

  51. Yinka says:

A lot of people who didn’t like you before that comment don’t like you again Kanye! You ’empathise’!?!! Weak, weak, weak!

  52. JihaD says:

he’s being used as a pawn to help push George Bush’s memoir, Decision Points.

    ^^

Not to be funny, but I didn’t even know the name of Dubya’s book til I read this.

And lets not pretend like Kanye isn’t using this to promote himself as well–just like he did off the Taylor Swift “apology” and even taking the time to respond to Dubya– its not like he did so unprompted.

And we all know that nigga will be sitting on NBC on Black Friday, rapping something off this album… Just like he did on SNL…

    JihaD

  53. toss says:

Kanye fucked up again. very stupid. he doesn’t know what to say!!??
Matt Lauer is only doing his job and didn’t ask anything out of the norm.

  54. Doe Money says:

Fuck Matt Lauer…ol’ egg sandwich eating, Polo and beige slacks on off day wearing ass cracka…

  55. Cinsere says:

Matt Lauer: “Here’s a two term president who ran the country during Katrina, 9/11, wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the financial meltdown, and he’s pointing the finger at Kanye West and that incident as the worst moment in his presidency.”

    1) That’s NOT what Bush said… he said it was ” *one of* the most *disgusting* moments of my presidency.” You JUST showed the clip mere seconds ago and you’re already misquoting him to spin it so it fits your agenda. That’s some FOX News type shit right there.

    2) At no point, while listening to that ridiculous statement from Bush, did you think “man, Bush is full of SHIT”?! I mean, honestly, you put it into that context, and you actually follow along in his sentiment when interviewing Kanye instead of… oh, I don’t know… questioning the notion that an ENTERTAINER calling him a racist is the worst thing on a list that includes 9/11, the wars, Katrina, and the complete collapse of the economy?! My fucking GOD!

Kanye, you should do what you said in your tweet! Stop fucking with these major network mu’fuckas… do an MTV here and a Hot97 there, but these other niggaz will not hesitate to completely throw you under the bus!

  56. Yeah Yeah says:

Kanye is the most ignorant smart person that I have evr heard speak. By the way, you don’t get elcted twice as president if you are dumb. Got to be pretty damn smart to do that. For those people that talk about his grammar, well I guess all rappers are retarded. Love the Obama apologists too. It’s a joke, our national debt continues to increase under his watch. Let me guess, he inherited this situation? Well then, Bush inherited an economy that was on a downswing after such a good run that began with Reagan. He also inherited 9/11.

  57. Yeah Yeah says:

Also, I love how Kanye says we gotta help our people, referring to black people. Well if white people did that please believe that’d be considered racist. He said that while on TV persuading people to donate to the Katrina cause. talk about creating a racial divide while some of the biggest philanthropists are white. What a joke

  58. monte ellis says:

FUCK THAT. KANYE SAID WHAT HE SAID BECAUSE THATS HOW HE FELT. MATT TRIED TO SON HIM, HE WASNT GOING FOR IT. TRYING TO MAKE KANYE LOOK LIKE HE’S THE ONE WHO FUCKD UP AMERICA. THIS SHOULDNT EVEN BE ON TV. THE SHIT HAPPENED FIVE YEARS AGO. WHY COULDNT THEY HAVE TALKED ABOUT THIS IN 08. I HOPE THIS DOESNT BE A HIGHLIGHT IN BUSH’S BOOK. IF IT IS, I AM CONVINCED WE’VE ALREADY HAD OUR FIRST FEMALE PRESIDENT.

  59. Yeah Yeah says:

By the way, obnoxious with this whole woe is Kanye. Could you imagine if a white man went up and interrupted a young black girl who was accepting her first award and said some other white singer should have received the award? You kidding me? He’d be proclaimed racist forever. It’s a joke the double standard that is within our society.

  60. dizzy3413 says:

I don’t really care about all this shit… Kanye makes GOOD music, but he does let his emotions overpower him at the wrong times. He’s just making it very hard for me to defend him in my circle of friends who think he is just some arrogant asshole.

  61. Damn Homie says:

boo hoo.. poor Kanye… pawn my ass.. dude knew what they were going to be talking about and even in his boo hooing he comes off as an uptight arrogant asshole.. and thats why people treat him like one. get over it.

nigga called Bush a racist without understand the effect.. and then suddenly when it happened to him it wasn’t cool… the news is always playing shit like that when people is talking so that you have context for those who may not have been familiar with what happened at the MTV awards.. remember its the TODAY SHOW.. not exactly Ye’s demographic.

We all have freedom of speech… BUT NOT freedom of criticism of that speech. But to say he is being used to help sell books.. GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE dude.. the kind of people who are gonna actually BUY GWB book.. aren’t giving a fuck about Kanye and what he does/says.

See.. yall much like Ye have this artificial inflation of his importance in the world or his clout. People just want the music.. they don’t care about his personal views.. he has a right to have them.. and we have a right to not GIVE A FUCK about them.

at the end of the day.. he is a musician/producer…. not fucking Socrates.

No one made him go on that show.. no one made him crash the MTV shit.. in fact.. I would say that Ye used the TODAY SHOW for publicity for his album if anything… because without the blowup on twitter and shit.. NONE of his FANS would even have realized he was on the TODAY show.. it wasn’t helping his album unless it turned in a “situation”. jersey shore. lol ha!

    peace.

  62. monte ellis says:

    @yeah yeah

you sound dumb as shit. elected twice??? politics is bullshit America is a big place ya know? Out of billions of people who live here, we picked this dickhead who fuckd everybody’s life for the next 15 years. yeah, he’s smart alright. i understand being the president is probably the hardest job in america but damn, he never made any smart ass logical moves. and to have this kanye shit linger in his brain for years mean we had a soft ass leader.

  63. Lu says:

Kanye is a fucking genius…… When he dead and gone, the world will realise just how lucky we are to have had somewhat like him…..So fuck Matt lauer, Fuck Bush and motherfuck racism

  64. Damn Homie says:

when Kanye’s gone.. he’ll just be gone.. like the rest of us. Plenty of false idols on earth.

  65. Cinsere says:

Kanye fucked up again. very stupid. he doesn’t know what to say!!??
Matt Lauer is only doing his job and didn’t ask anything out of the norm.”

^Refer to my comment above… the context of the entire interview was completely skewed!

Honestly, this interview, on a small scale, has so many parallels to this country’s history and how shit is set up for niggaz not to win! They start off with their agenda, and then tell a nigga “yeah, come on, you can be part of this…” just to find out that they never had your interest in mind, they were helping advance of some crooked-ass white dude that did shit MUCH worse than you, and villainizing YOU in the process. FUCK apologizing to Bush… Bush should be apologizing to US! This is why when people say “we’ve come so far,” I’m like “don’t get too comfortable, nigga”… cuz mu’fuckas are still quick to take some petty shit you did, and completely blow it out of proportion, to the point where it’s viewed worse than the atrocities committed by higher and more powerful people. Thousands of innocent people died in Iraq for NO reason… but niggaz are still getting bagged for weed possession.

The more shit changes… you know the rest…

  66. Yeah Yeah says:

well we don’t have anywhere close to a billion people that live here. The fact is, if someone were to say that Obama doesn’t care about white people, then Black people would blow up that mans spot. Black people create racism by creating a racial divide. Obama wouldn’t be president without nearly 50% of white people that voted for him. By the way, the president can’t do much without approval from the senate and congress. Where is the call out on Obama? Didn’t he say he was going to make changes? Not seeing any of any value to any social class. Just so much ignorance in the world. No one says Bush had a great presidency, but he was the president.

  67. FIRE AMAYA MOVEMENT says:

@certified done, are u on crack? no one wanted bush’ ass down there in a paddle boat… he waited days to send FEMA/proper help… and the ppl were warned, some ppl are just og with it and said fuck the hurricane ive been here longer

  68. monte ellis says:

    @damn Homie

thats the thing…they asked these celebrity to be on these tv shows and do these inteviews because thats what keep people looking at tv. celebrities are real ppl at the end of the day too. im pretty sure somebody in new orleans wouldve said something way worse than kanye. its fact. i went to school with alot of them when they left new orleans and came to texas.

  69. monte ellis says:

    @yeah yeAH

you got off subject bruh, obama aint got nothing to do with bush and kanye. i got plex with obama too. the thing is, america have become too dependent and waiting for the president to fix problems that sometimes we as citizens can fix ourselves. america is a ticking timebomb. as long as you have probusiness motherfuckers running this bitch

  70. Damn Homie says:

Monte… but the thing that pisses me off that people just dismiss is that niggas knew the hurricane was coming in that general area.. and they fuckin LIVE BELOW SEA LEVEL!?!?! come on son.. its not the government’s fault they decided to stay and didn’t get the fuck out.

The reason they didn’t.. is because everyone wants to use the fuckin government as a Plan B instead of a very end of the line last resort.. there is no self reliance.. people stayed because they figured if shit went south.. “superman” aka the government would save them… and if you read Bush’s account of the shit.. it wasn’t the federal government that fucked it up.. it was the Governor of LA… who was a democrat that was arrogant and didn’t want the help and in order for him to go against her wishes he would have had to declared a special order and then mutha fuckas woulda been on some republican democrat bullshit..

Fact is.. depend on yourself.. FIRST.. SECOND.. and THIRD.. and then the government.. niggas got shit twisted.. we might as well change the name from government to Mama. Niggas grow up.

DId you see how these.. so called hurt people from N.O. spent there FEMA gift cards to get there lives back together??? Strippers.. lap dances.. porn.. flat screens.. and assorted bullshit.. bunch of ignorant nigga shit.

If Bush fucked up.. it wasn’t because he was racist.. it was bc they were unprepared.. The U.S. never had to deal with something like that before.. and the fact that you had a particular concentration that seemed to be totally irresponsible or capable of caring for themselves on a GOOD day.. made the problem worse.

Stop looking at the other man.. and look at your reflections niggas.. the answer lies there.

Ye, used Matt, just like Matt used Ye.. Ye is just a drama queen about everything.. he wants to be PAC.. but can’t.

  71. KANYE FAN says:

I have serveral issues with this interview.

#1 – Kanye.. why are empathetic ??? Just say that you felt Bush’s response was unfair to the thousands of black people in New Orleans. I felt he could have done more to show that they were actually Americans who deserved the respect to be saved. WHY ARE YOU APOLOGIZING!! You are losing your credibility. EFF BUSH.. We all feel this way.. don’t retrack your statements now.

#2 – You should have politely waited until the clip was over.. Don’t answer questions over audio.. Simple.. Instead – spazzing makes you look like a defensive lunatic.

You honestly need to stop doing damage control.. Going on Lauer was a huge mistake.. he is going to ask you questions.. imagine if you did Oprah?? You gotta prepare better, homie.

  72. FIRE AMAYA MOVEMENT says:

@yeah yeah = george bush’ asian fun boy

  73. Def Jam rep says:

For all you people saying Kanye was there to promote Bushs book…. why do you think Def Jam and management put him on the show? To promote his ALBUM… He is also scheduled to perform on the Today show for Black Friday….and you know after he made it thru the Bush stuff they would have discussed the album and performance…. just never made it to that point……. He should have just stuck to the Friday performance and NOT done the interview….

  74. panda6112 says:

Get ready for 808s and Heartbreak 2

  75. Realist says:

    @smh bwhahahhaha!!!

  76. Yeah Yeah says:

@Monte Ellis, so you agree with Kanye? Funny thing is, for the most part, black people group themselves. hearing black people say my people is ridiculous. Black people people should be Americans in general. I can only imagine if white people just said my people referring to their own race. If white Americans didn’t donate there would hardly have been any money donated to the cause. Most of the money is in the hands of white people, addressing the nation in the way that he did is unbelievable. That was the president at the time. I don’t think Bush did a decent job at all. But I respect that he was voted in. Every celebrity gets questions like that when there was scandal, he just got sensitive with it.

  77. Yeah Yeah says:

@Fire Amaya – Nah man, I’m actually just educated and don’t blurt out ignorant statements without realizing the way that it could impact others.

  78. Damn Homie says:

Its even more evident how irrelevant Kanye is to people in power by the fact that Bush kept calling him “Conway”.. West. lmfao.. ha

  79. politik says:

daaaaaam…many people say the media lies these days, and those same peeps say its a set up and listen to lupe, talib, madlib, immortal, etc. but when kanye says it hes gay and whining…lol…dont get caught up in peoples images…that is a rich black entertainer that is being called out by a president….wow…ya’ll forget so easy…see if Malcolm and Martin were around today we wouldnt even be able to listen because too many HATERS of our own kind would say get off his d**k…some of u amuse me…

  80. Yeah Yeah says:

Kanye got called out by 2 presidents. Obama called him a jackass also, which he is.

  81. foekist says:

I WOULD HAVE MORE RESPECT FOR KANYE IS HE WERE TO HAVE SAID,

YOU KNOW WHAT, MAYBE THE WAY I WORDED IT WAS WRONG. MAYBE I SHOULD’VE SAID, BUSH DOESN’T SEEM TO CARE ABOUT BLACK PEOPLE AS THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE THERE ARE BLACK. BECAUSE LETS BE HONEST, THE WAY BUSH HANDLED THAT AWFUL SITUATION WAS TERRIBLE. I’M SORRY IF IT CAME ACROSS LIKE I WAS SAYING HE WAS RACIST, AND THAT IS ALL I AM SORRY ABOUT. AND, SINCE WE’RE ON THE SUBJECT, I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY, FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART… FUCK BUSH AND HIS BOOK! END OF STORY!

IF HE SAD THAT, I WOULD HAVE MORE RESPECT FOR HIM.

  82. Jason says:

I love all these black people on here saying fuck yeah he is a racist. Kanye is soooooo oppressed…blah fuckin blah

  83. FIRE AMAYA MOVEMENT says:

@yeah yeah… u keep trying to reverse the rolls of black/white ppl.. its not the same shit.. ethically we are the same but culturally were not… black ppl generally are a tighter knit group when comparing to white ppl so when kanye said “we need to help our own” or when black ppl say “my people,” they are likely lookin at it as a – ‘us against the world’ type mentallity… for a white person to say that, it would be a dick move cuz historically weve been a dominant majority in north america…. black ppl havent so quit tryin to compare apples and oranges

  84. Yeah Yeah says:

So address a country that historically and currently predominately white by saying we need to help our people? If he was really trying to “help” his people, he would have done so many things differently. I remember that very day, I didn’t donate because of what he said. He made it sound as if he was only addressing black people. Also, us against the world mentality gets you nowhere. Unity and does. It’s a fact. The cultural and racial divide is due to white people and black people combined. its ard to create unity when people subgroup themselves racially.

  85. GUARE says:

hahahahah funny how the bastard had to announce how he is performin for you bastards .. uh .. how u like them apples.. .. kayne just wants his respect..and i feel he deserve it.. his a genuis as an musician and they should respect his talents..

  86. Niyemortal says:

    @smh

That would be BEST INTERVIEW EVER! Sounds like a wrestling promo honestly lol

  87. Keepit100 says:

Wow Kanye is such a BITCH!!!!!!

  88. sway-z says:

I love Kanye music, the new album is dope, Graduation & Late Registration is near classics to me, but this nigga is just overly sensitive to everything.

That shit wasn’t out of line, every news channel in the universe has overlays when they’re speaking on incidents that happen. Either this nigga needs to learn how to fuckin relax, or he just sparking shit out of nothing for more promo

  89. dlil says:

okay, he jumped on stage and spoke his mind. it’s just the vma’s! that show is supposed to have stuff like that. (twas sad that it was taylor. that’s all)

nearly being exiled from ur life and work for such a idiotic overrated incident may cause permanent damage.

i’m just glad he decided to come back despite the fact he lost his freedom to do or say whatever…

let’s go back to the music!

Read his book and you’ll understand.

that is partially true, but for an emergency this severe wouldn’t the right thing be to BREAK the “LAW”. I mean please a week for food and water to be sent to a football stadium? Iran/Iraq were sent food within days after the military “took over”. I’m just confused how the US has politics and proper channels they have to abide, but foreign/international treatment is far more advance and accommodating. I couldn’t agree more with Kanye 5 years ago. but Bush was a figure head. the Government doesn’t care about black people.

  92. CaniBlog? says:

YO MAN CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME PLEASE PLEASE HOW THE FUCK DOES THE KANYE INCIDENT WITH GEORGE BUSH BECOME THE MAIN TOPIC OF DISCUSSION IN REGARDS TO BUSH’S NEW BOOK??????

THIS GUY WAS IN OFFICE FOR 8 FUCKING YEARS FUCKED UP OUR COUNTRY AND THERE ASKING HIM ABOUT KANYE? REALLY KANYE? 8 FUCKING YEARS AND YOUR TALKING ABOUT A MUSICIAN? WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?????

  93. Yeah Yeah says:

If the government didn’t care about black people there would be no such thing as affirmitive action or the ability for minorities to receive scholarship or get into schools more easily than white people. which by the way is a fact. If you take the MCAT and you are a minority you get in to school with a lower grade. As well, college admissions can accept minorities with lower SAT scores.. The avenues for minorities to succeed are there once they stop using excuses that no longer affect them. 80’s babies and beyond don’t face race issues. They are rare. Also, Bush doesnt have near the power that you’d think during presidency. The government is set up in a way that most of the presidential decisions go through steps in order to be pushed through. The ignorance on this blog is pathetic.

  94. city8732 says:

Did anyone ever find the explicit version?

  95. MATIC says:

    i hate white people.

i’m a white dude and that fucking smug look ML had at the end of the clip is why i hate white people.

Who gives a fuck if thats what you do in every show. Apologize to your guest! It’s just being a good host. Wether you agree with Kanye or not, you are conducting an interview.

S/O TO ‘YE AND ALL MY PEOPLE WHO KNOW WASSUP!

  96. bigjay2501 says:

im glad i saw this….im not in the position to say whether Kanye is overly sensitive or the “Today Show” was wrong…..but it did seem like they wanted to focus on his past and not his present. You cant blame him for being aggravated at that.

  97. koreyk says:

so somebody screwed up with the sound. I hope that was a mistake cause that would be some asshole shit to do while he was talking.

  98. Belize says:

Fuck Lauer. Fuck Bush. Fuck the Tea Party. Fuck all Republicans. Fuck all Conservatives.
Why don’t yall learn summin from Kanye—-an intelligent Liberal who will be longer remembered than all listed above.

  99. Drazen says:

and then at the end when kanye goes “ridiculous” haha so appaled

  100. JIMMY says:

    FUCK THE MEDIA!

    WEEZY THE G.O.A.T.

  101. pwnzone says:

KANYES STATEMENT TOWARDS BUSH WAS BUSHS’ WORST PART OF HIS PRESIDENCY?! WHAT ABOUT 9/11 YOU FUCKING IDIOT?!?!

  102. DETOX says:

FUCK BUSH. FUCK KANYE. FUCK THE HOST. FUCK EVERYBODY. Fuck y`all if you doubt me. I`m a piece of fucking white trash, i say it proudly and fuck this battle, I don`t wanna win, I`m outty, Here, tell these people something they dont know about me.

  103. Saddnessinfinite says:

That was the saddest moment I can really think of. It kind of hit me as a watched it that Kanye west cares more about public opinion of him then speaking the truth. That interview was painful to watch, those who say George Bush was stuck, understand this.

Before Katrina EVER hit, the Bush administration was WARNED about the levees this wasn’t a surprise. Was it a break down in communication of course, but to say that Bush couldn’t have taken preemptive actions means either you don’t understand his presidency or you don’t get the man. He instituted the war with Iraq and the Patriot Act with less.

That being said, Kanye West should not have backed down. That was the worse part of his presidency? Read Bush’s book and you find out he fully endorsed the torture in GITMO, he doesn’t even apologize for it. But being called a racist is the worse part of his presidency?

Does anybody remember Katrina? Before the military mobilized, and made it there, Before the National guard., Red Cross made it to Louisiana and New Orleans. THEY WERE TURNED AWAY from check points. That’s right, the military took precious time to set up check points and send in Armed men with Rifles before they Flew in even one DROP OF WATER. And Kanye West needs to apologize? Its easy to make a song, standing up to people. But the real test of a mans conviction, is when you are under fire in the public eye. Kanye West just failed to me.

As people were dying in that Stadium Bush Went on air and said “Brownie is doing one hell of a JOB!”. Do I think George Bush is a Klan’s member no, but George W Bush does not nor will he ever care about Black people. Take it how you like it, his response towards the situation tells you what is most important when you see them in distress. Make sure they are subdued, then after if you can, help and control damage. They were rounded up piled into a stadium and left to die. And now Several years later Kanye is asked to apologize to Bush. Goddamn you got to love America.
