Here’s the interview that sparked Kanye West’s Twitter rant yesterday. It’s a shame that Ye’s album is being released in less than two weeks and instead of promoting it, he’s being used as a pawn to help push George Bush’s memoir, Decision Points.
Later in the clip, Today host Matt Lauer responds to Kanye’s gripes and says the rapper is scheduled to perform for the network on Black Friday. Good luck with that.

I’m not racist (i’m white). I have a lot of really close black friends and in my mind I believe in equality. When Katrina happened, Bush had to wait for the Louisiana Governor to ask the Federal government for assistance before they could help. That is the law. It took too much time for the Governor of Louisiana to ask for help. Bush was on Air Force 1 because if he landed then it would take away the resources that were helping in order to be Bush’s security. It isn’t Bush’s decision to have all that security….it’s just that way. Read his book and you’ll understand.
I personally don’t think Bush hates black people. I think he isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed which led him to not respond in the best possible way, and his policies catered to rich people, which helped cause the Great Recession.

It really wasn’t all that bad Ye, although Matt did seem like he was trying to pry the words “I’m sorry” out of his mouth also it seems like that video was heavily edited for whatever reason. We’ll see if Def Jam can convince Kanye to show up for that performance after Thanksgiving because they don’t invite a lot of rappers to perform on the Today Show and that would be a great look for him.

It’s too bad that one of the most incredible album’s I’ve heard in years may get overshadowed by this interview. I could see this marginally hurting his sales in the short run. Regardless he still made a classic album and is the most creative in the game right now.
I’m a fan of Kanye’s music but dude needs some serious media training. I couldn’t see Jay or 50 getting backed in a corner like that in an interview. Speaking from the heart is not always the best route in these situations.

If white Americans didn’t donate there would hardly have been any money donated to the cause. I’m not racist (i’m white). I have a lot of really close black friends and in my mind I believe in equality. When Katrina happened, Bush had to wait for the Louisiana Governor to ask the Federal government for assistance before they could help. That is the law. It took too much time for the Governor of Louisiana to ask for help. Bush was on Air Force 1 because if he landed then it would take away the resources that were helping in order to be Bush’s security. It isn’t Bush’s decision to have all that security….it’s just that way. Read his book and you’ll understand.
that is partially true, but for an emergency this severe wouldn’t the right thing be to BREAK the “LAW”. I mean please a week for food and water to be sent to a football stadium? Iran/Iraq were sent food within days after the military “took over”. I’m just confused how the US has politics and proper channels they have to abide, but foreign/international treatment is far more advance and accommodating. If the government didn’t care about black people there would be no such thing as affirmitive action or the ability for minorities to receive scholarship or get into schools more easily than white people. which by the way is a fact. If you take the MCAT and you are a minority you get in to school with a lower grade. As well, college admissions can accept minorities with lower SAT scores.. The avenues for minorities to succeed are there once they stop using excuses that no longer affect them. 80’s babies and beyond don’t face race issues. They are rare. Also, Bush doesnt have near the power that you’d think during presidency. The government is set up in a way that most of the presidential decisions go through steps in order to be pushed through. The ignorance on this blog is pathetic.
