For a second year in a row, LL Cool J has been denied entry into the the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. The Beastie Boys were also snubbed by the committee. C’mon man, we need love!
Ummm this is the ROCK N ROLL Hall of Fame… Not the Hip-Hop Hall of Fame. I dont see the mystery here.
Im not a fan of LL but i respect the work he put in hiphop. Thats messed up hopefully next year LL will make it kanye shrug.
He’ll get it when he’s in his 50’s. There’s a lot of people and groups who should be inducted over LL, he’ll get it though. Beastie’s shouldn’t be in the Hall of Fame IMO.
That’s good. He doesn’t belong in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame.

LL was just a hiphop movement.. He didn’t do any major numbers or breaking points in his career..He was simple hot for the time….LIL WAYNE will never get it…
Hell we yet got JANET JACKSON to get there…she earneddddddddddddd..35 #1 songs.. and more… then Whitney and Mariah…..the only rapper that will get it is JAY-Z when his 20 years in the game gets here.

one day hip hop needs its own hall of fame. I think it is kind of too early for it now…but it makes more sense to do that then induct rappers into the ROCK N ROLL hall of fame.
ummm why do we give a fuck do the words rock and roll mean anything to you do you see dj tiesto in there or daft punk? motherfuckers just start a hip hop hall of fame and fuck that shit its a no brainer why seek an award from a genre of music that doesnt completely if at all understand hip hop , hip hop is a completely diff movement it needs its own so just start it and shut the fuck up leave rock and roll to rock and roll if u get it cool but if not ur a rapper its called the rock and roll hall of fame

No need to feel snubbed.. LL is WELL respected for the impact he had on Hip Hop and it’s movement to mainstream.. From Krush Groove to NCIS he has repped this culture well.
And still rocks a stage..two turn tables and a mic.. & NO HYPE MAN. He’s my GOAT. Nonone has stayed relevant, longer and survived all the various changes of Hip Hop.
Respect is given because it’s been earned. And to you youngins that may not know his impact.. Ask your Moms and Pops.
First of all, I am a black man who grew up listening to all types of music(Not Just Rap and R&B like many other blacks). That’s the first problem with most of you, yall don’t understand the principles of what rock n roll really means. Let me please assist your stupidity if I may.
FIRST AND FOREMOST THE TERM ROCK N ROLL WAS NEVER RESERVED FOR WHITES ONLY OR A SMALL GROUP OF USUALLY WHITE MALES WHO PLAY INSTRUMENTS,
YES IT’S A SOUND AND A PARTICULAR TEXTURE OF MUSIC, BUT IT’S PRIMARY FUCTION IS REBELLION AGAINST ALL OPPOSITION. That can be parents, authority, freedom of expression and so on. R N Roll is also a celebration of doing things your own way no matter what others may have said or did to hold you back. So in many way’s many of these same principle elements drive many other forms of music. This is why Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and many other non Rock acts are in there. Rock n Roll means you have the shit to be the shit! Sure you’re gonna have a few fakers along the way, but thats just life.
As far as LLand The BB…this year meant they both were eliglble and thats an honor in itself. Plus like any award there are rules and guidelines that are followed. When I think about LL’s or the Beastie Boys careers hall of fame status doesn’t come to mind at all musically speaking, but from a cultural movement stand point they will eventually sneak in one day!
Ok, so if you been reading you should have learned the Rock hall aint just about whites or what genre of music you play..it’s about what did you do to show the world how good you were at being bad. The icing is saved for the ones who managed fame and fortune. Again, All pop stars who got rich off of being popular won’t get in but when you do it like Madonna did..you get in..Britney may get in but it won’t be done at her first year of eligibilty.
Right now you have no Kiss, Motley Crue, Iron maiden, Judas Priest, Rush, Journey…all of these are huge rock bands and if none of them still aint in I will say this to closed n tell all of yall to get something else to listen to sometimes besides rap and hip hop..n you’l understaand better how right now, Jay z has more in common with metallica than he does another rap artist! It’s called growth..Don’t we all wanna grow….mERRY cHRISTMAS nICCA!!!!!!!!!

I’m not a huge fan of LL’s music either but he deserves the spot no doubt, and Beastie Boys do too, without a doubt, if you think otherwise you should check what these artists have done for the music culture over the years.
I’m not really up to date with the MCA status but if he’s not already well I hopes he gets well soon and look forward for the new album.

Thats the genius of white people…they invent all deceit for self gain. When I first saw hendrix play on videotape..he’s just one example that the creativity and balls it takes to be above average has zero to do with what race you are. Nowaday’s the emenims of the world can outsell similar artists who are black because of proper maketing and distrubution backing up the talent. The white man knew you can brand a band in American society to eventually reach world wide status. Behind the scenes he’s makin all the deals people like russell simmons took years to make. White people would never allow anyone black to take there money store. Thats why you don’t see many national rock bands with blacks in them.
I said all of that to make a point. In Texas Lingo…Rap is our shit Livestock & Barrel! Even after I said that it’s a known fact both Emenem and The beastie Boys probably hold some of the highest sales success in Rap music history….Yet juts because of that many people think the sales success validates the talen..BS..Lady Gaga is paid, but she can’t borrow a penny from me.
What it says is, when you go pop and everybody likes you you will dominate in sales, but sales don’t make greatness. Whats sad is, rap behind the scenes is being run by others anyway!
