’10 Underrated Albums: #2 Lloyd Banks The Hunger For More 2

Lloyd Banks proved that his eyes weren’t bigger than his stomach with last year’s sleeper, The Hunger For More 2. From the onset, the project curbs hip-hop fans appetites with aggressive production and sharp writing (“Take ‘Em To War,”  “Home Sweet Home”).  Banks continued this approach on tracks like his comeback hit, “Beamer, Benz Or Bentley”, and the star-studded “Start It Up”. Elsewhere, he caters to his female base without losing his edge (“I Don’t Deserve You” and “Any Girl”). It takes more than 40,000 in the first week to recognize that.

@round… I guarantee you that Banks has seen more money this year off music than Officer Ricky! It’s all about profit now, sales suck for everybody but Em. Kanye is still not plat after a month and a half. I remember he went plat in 2 weeks.

HFM2 was the 2nd best album to come out this year first being Pilot Talk 2! Banks deliever… G-Unit EMI f*cked up on distribution!

  4. esdee says:

  5. Yooo says:

I’m not sure if this deserves to be #2 in the most underrated. It definitely wasnt a classic. It was decent but thats it, IMO. And it still did decent numbers compared to the others on this list.

Oh I know, BIG BOI SIR LUSCIOUS LEFT FOOT has to be the number one underrated album of the year.

Well wait…is it slept on albums or underrated? Because it got great ratings, it was just slept on. Sooo I dunno…if its slept on then BIG BOI album is def. number one. Either that or Distant Relatives or How I Got Over…im actually mad not all those albums are on this list.

  18. iHate says:

Not a Classic, but one of the best albums of the year. One of my favs.
Some songs fucked up the feeling of the album. Good trakcs, but not good for HFM2. 8/10
Also, HFM2 had that G-Unit shit that made me listen rap. I was waiting for that sound since 2005. Need a classic 50 Cent/G-Unit album!

  26. Toya says:

I agree that this was an underrated album. I wasn’t really into Lloyd Banks prior to this album so I was surprised at how many songs on this album that I liked. It really should have received more buzz than it did.

  27. Pete from Harlem says:

Webster’s define underrated as to rate too low or undervalue.

With several very well received songs that made their way unto radio without and publicists help,
and everybody and their mother doing their take on them, yes…to me,that definitely sounds like someone who was underrated.

Mental note: When you have a song,or several, that everyone HAS to remix or add they take on,as to see if they can best the original and make themselves hot, and it don’t really translate over to sales or even accolades…that’s acknowledgment from your peers, then you are underrated.

  28. Belize says:

no, number ONE most underrated you fags.
