’10 Mixtapes: #2 Rick Ross The Albert Anastasia EP

It’s still amazing that two songs from a mixtape made such a splash that they had to be included on an artist’s album. The streets spoke loudly and Rozay’s Teflon Don wouldn’t have been complete without “MC Hammer” and “BMF”. You talk about a one-two Lex Luger-produced punch. Simply put, this prequel brought Ross to the forefront of this rap shit. This signaled the end of the Officer jokes. Hardbody collabos with Yo Gotti (“Gotti Family”) and Kool G Rap (“Knife Fight”) would make the biggest herb feel like a tough guy. And I don’t wanna be in a dark corner of a club when “300 Soldiers” comes on. Should we have gotten our mind right? Why not #1? You’re thinkin’ top spot? We’re thinkin’ #2.

  19. real says:

    fakest rapper alive!!!

  20. The Real Truth says:

I’m a fan of Fab, Ross and J Cole here is how I see it…..

Fab been rapping since 97 98 and to be honest, he has gotten just a little bit better, his growth in albums isnt that big and this mixtape was good, but NO WAY CLOSE to the first one and that makes it a fail, but its a top 5 mixtape this year

Rick Ross since his first album to now, its made me question him if he has a ghost writer, thats how much better he has gotten, his mixtape was good, but its only because of those 2 singles BMF and MC Hammer, take that off and its average, his new mixtape is better…..

    J. Cole since i have heard him has gotten so much better, and he actually talks about stuff…. “Too Deep For the Intro ” is one of the tightest songs I’ve heard in a while and thats not even the best song on his mixtape, I still listen to his mixtape over any album that came out in November, December…. besides HFM2 ……. I think FNL is the best mixtape and better then this…..

  21. Gordon B. says:

So you call Distant Relatives disappointing, Wacka Flocka underrated and then you claim that Rick Ross had a better mixtape than J. Cole, this shit is getting unreal.

  22. Citylivin' says:

    #1 No Ceilings???………….

  23. AJFNGJJ says:

  27. Wespraycrowds says:

Fashion’s Ode To Illmatic gotta be in the top 10, right? Right? Apparently wrong

  28. Belize says:

So you also think Ross is dope?
    no wonder yall got fired!

  29. dutchmaster says:

    fab’s should’ve been higher than this…..

AND WHERE THE FUCK IS CAM’RON / VADO BOSS OF BOSSES SERIES????

    MAJOR FAIL!!!!!

  30. ben says:

@ lo if you think rick ross is lyrical, maybe you should not converse about rap. its ok, i forgive you.

  31. Fosborne says:

RR can’t be serious with Ross having the #2 mixtape of the year. Yelawolf, Big KRIT, Wale, Fabolous, Wiz, J.cole, Freddie Gibbs, and Dom Kennedy all had better releases. Lets face the facts Rick Ross had commercial success, he had some big features and hot beats, but his rapping (lyrics, delivery, flow ect.. )abilities are less than all the names listed above. In the end of the day its about the music, not how many times your musics played on the radio.

  32. Fosborne says:

oh yeah even forgot to mention No Ceilings
