Following months of speculation, Wale confirms that he’s now signed to Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group. Though the label is currently in a bidding war, he will still be managed by Roc Nation. Congrats!

  12. Citylivin' says:

Wale! Wale! (DJ Omega voice)……if Wale stops working with DJ Omega he’s foolish….that dude is amazing.

  13. Clbobe says:

You niggas know nothing about music. Great move by Officer Ricky. Wale is nice & knows how to make mainstream joints. Probably picked him up for next to nothing too. Good business decision.

  14. Boy says:

The content of his rap wont change. Just imaging the producers he has access to. Hes gonna create an amazing album

  15. Jav says:

All this means is that his circle of opportunities has grown..he know has a tree from Jay-Z to Ross to Diddy..and the the middle men..producers/R&B Singers..etc..hope he uses his resources right though and doesn’t just become one of those dude’s with one album every 4 years that puts up a top 25 song then disapears.

  16. dumb dumb says:

I’m trying too care but my I don’t give a fuck meter is broke. Wale, that like signing Charles Hamilton, no one gives a fuck. He had an CD out and it tanked, that should have been your reference point that no one cares about this cat but Elliott Wilson and he’s the dick rider extradonaire.

And Big Homie go steal some links from other sites and make them yours.

  17. haterzeverywhere says:

Wonder if this is a real deal. Did he magically get dropped from interscope after they spent millions? Or is MMG coming to interscope anyway so they just pulled a Game where they just sign you to some shit with same distro.

  18. Ice Cold says:

    DMV !!! Wale congrats man

  19. odC says:

Whats funny about all this is, RR and few other Ricky sympathizer (because of his “good music) are making this out to be like the Police just signed Jay-z, and has roster like Death Row in its hey days.

Is it me or is this a trash roster? Wale flop on the biggest machine, the others has no buzz, and Ross success is because Def Jam refused to loose their investment from 50’s attack so they helped Ross stood, but homey far from a “force” to be talking “bidding war” language.
So how is this MMG gonna stand again?

Deals are deals, not all of them meaning bidding war, as if those co. see Ross as some great potential assets. Lol.
Good hoax YN. U got the internet buzzing with delusion. LOL

  20. james says:

hataz are goin 2 hate llol!!!!!!!!!!! I wish people could stop talkin about his album sales………..hav u heard more about nothin…………….hes one of the dopest m.cs in the game…………Wale good move

  23. flawda says:

Not a good move by Wale, what does it say that your boss can barely go gold. That’s not setting a good tone for you as his artist and your future. Sorry, it’s the truth!

  37. Shawn says:

Dudes say “I’m different” but do the same old shit.. So now when Ricky’s fire cools Wale will be caught on the sinking ship… Like anyone signed to Murder Inc, G Unit, Rough Riders etc.. Once those fan bases stop fucking with the main artist, and they will, you only get a 3-5yr run and Ricks in yr 4.. The rest of the “label” goes in toilet too..
I wish him the best.. Just don’t know if it’s a good look. And he WILL compromise his music… Fuck what he talking bout..

  38. Ava says:

  45. How phil & bryan sharing a twitter account?

  46. the cool says:

i think this was a good move for wale, i know his first album didnt do so good but lyrically he’s one of the best out right now, so now we need to see where MMG goes to and hopefully not back to interscope for two reasons,”Chillin” and Diddy

  47. LO says:

my nigga Wiz on that team wit Wale, Meek Millz, and Rozay…Damn that wuda been a sweet package… Dnt sleep on the nigga Ross

  48. JERZZZ says:

Elliot must be the official Maybach Music PR Rep spokesman and cock polisher. You a fuckin sellout nigga.

  49. NOT THE MOVE I WOULD OF PICKED FOR HIM BUT I UNDERSTAND ITS A GODD BUSINESS MOVE. JUST PLEASE BE YOURSELF NIGGA…I DONT WANNA SEE YOU AND GUNPLAY RUNNING AROUND WIT YA SHIRTS OFF LOL.

  50. Word says:

I don’t get it. How is this a good move? Imean sure he has access to some.good producers, but Ross barely managed gold so what you think Wale gonna do? He’s actually not a dumbed down kinda dude. Bad bad move. Wale, if yu made this move in the hopes of your sales going up, forget it. You still wont sell. But, if you just want access to better producers to make better music YOUR WAY, then that’s cool. But wale will still indeed flop. Im sorry. More About Nuffin was dope too. But consumers don’t want the style of rap wale represents the dude is actually too lyrical to the point where not everyone is gonna catch on. And since you with Ross, he wants ABC lyrics like BMF had. and unfortunately, your gonna have to sell out wale. Its cool though imean you gotta do you.

And by sellout I meant lyrically. Dude already got songs with GaGa so he hella mainstream but he the type of mainstream that still can’t sell.

  56. Word says:

Lmao @ Big Homie! I couldnt even see the gif from my phone.

  57. mr.300 says:

So! What hit’s has Wale done by himself? As far as I’m concerned get $ Wale from that Fat Cop & keep it movin.

  58. Real Deal says:

I don’t understand yall. Most of the time yall fucks with the good mc’s. Wale is a dope lyricist and this was a good signing. Idk how yall talk shit about lil wayne and say record sales don’t matter, then you go at wale talkin about how hard he flopped smh

  59. original will says:

maybach music is just as good as CTE and flipmode squad ent Nappy Boy Ent aint nobody drop shit but ross lets not go into that 1st triple c’s album like why you thinc wiz didnt sign to that label Wale always looking to be an employee No Hands my ass this nigga always looking for a handout whether its Lil wayne feat to get him some buzz or its signing to Mark Ronson Label or letting jay-z rape him out of tour and endorsement deal(although he has none) money and now he signing to ross label whats next he going to give wayne and Baby Parts by signing to young money cash money like the rest of the failures LOL

I mean its doesnt make sense 5 6 companies trying to eat off of 68 k of records sold LOL WTF

Thats the difference between him and Wiz Wiz is a Boss This nigga Wale is always going to be an employee

  60. original will says:

    @george jong

Im pretty disappointed in wale. I usually dont dislike too much, especially someone that i dont know. However i truly can say i dislike rick ross. Not for the message he promotes because other rappers have done it…but to gloryify the destructive lifestyle and to never have truly lived it is fascinating to me. I say this with truth in my voice rick ross is the definition of a jester, clown, however he is smart enough to fool the blind. I truly believe those who follow this guy cant see right in front of them, this guy has played the ignorant like a drum…im certain he has never hustled cocaine in his life…but he has perfected the art of hussling those who no no better…cant knock the hustle huh lol?
