    Damn…Damian goes in on this.

    Some of the smartest dummies
Can’t read the language of Egyptian mummies
An’ a fly go a moon
And can’t find food for the starving tummies
Pay no mind to the youths
Cause it’s not like the future depends on it
But save the animals in the zoo
Cause the chimpanzee dem a make big money
This is how the media pillages
On the TV the picture is
    Savages in villages
And the scientist still can’t explain the pyramids, huh
Evangelists making a living on the videos of ribs of the little kids
Stereotyping the image of the images
And this is what the image is
    You buy a khaki pants
And all of a sudden you say a Indiana Jones
An’ a thief out gold and thief out the scrolls and even the buried bones
Some of the worst paparazzi I’ve ever seen and I ever known
Put the worst on display so the world can see
And that’s all they will ever show
So the ones in the west
    Will never move east
And feel like they could be at home
Dem get tricked by the beast
But a where dem ago flee when the monster is fully grown?
Solomon linage when them still can’t defeat and them could never clone
My spiritual DNA that print in my soul and I will forever Own… Lord

  25. damboye says:

After watching & listening to this Video, The Only Question is ” Who is the King of Hip Hop??” Its Nas. Crown Him. He has never at any point in time fight with young cats to claim the Kingship Throne which he has distinctively been Crowned as the King from his Music & rythme. All he does is sit back, Inspire ,aspire & work with innovative rappers who can become Role model & Librate Souls & Minds for Greater Achievements in Life with Our Music..Its so shameful that Rap Radar had Distant Relatives as One of the worst album of 2010. This is an Epic Album but you Cats will never Understand until you re assert your Think Tank & destitute Mind thinking from one doomed Point of View…Knowledge is Power & Wisdom is Key…..unfortunately you were One of the Few Website to publish such a classic Video….Just Like Kanye said ” Dont Believe every thing you hear or Read in the Media…Time to soak ourselves with Positive Power…Arguably Only a Genuis & genuity Mind like Nas can say Hip Hop is Dead & Invent New Ideas for its Re Birth…Nas is the Undisputable King of Hip Hop even Hov knew & he made Peace for the sake of Hip Hop !!!

  26. Truth83 says:

just gotta say thats the video of the fu#$ year right there.

  29. Chris says:

Im sure some people will clown Nas for literally rapping about the moon and the stars but whatever, he’s doing him and he’s growing in his own direction.

Im sorry YN and B-Dot I still like him and I think he deserves some praise and recognition for still doing it out here.

  30. wow says:

    Insane song, insane video.

This gives me a little bit of hope for music in general after that terrible, disgusting mess of a halftime show last night.

  31. xplicit says:

Damian Marley is on some lyrical level its hard to explain..
I wish everyone could understand what he was saying

“The Earth was flat if you went too far you would fall off
Now the Earth is round if the shape change again everybody woulda start laugh
The average man can’t prove of most of the things that he chooses to speak of
And still won’t research and find out the root of the truth that you seek of
Scholars teach in Universities and claim that they’re smart and cunning
Tell them find a cure when we sneeze and that’s when their nose start running”

    Too funny

  32. ola says:

    very nice and video

  33. Rafelito says:

I love this song. Isn’t it crazy how almost a year after release no one talks about this album?

  34. ceasr says:

thats the essence of hip hop but then u pan down and see jeezy nothing and be like were did we go wrong… not to say it’s bad but this is a recession and it might not be nothing for u but what about those who struggling in obama economics

  35. bobbyrocwell says:

i think they went the wrong way with this video.. the song is pure fire tho..

  36. Sam I Am says:

DAMNNNNNNNNNN this was utter brilliance! and this site chose Flockaveli over this?!? this one video and song surpasses anything in Flocka (and many actually skilled musicians) body of work.

If they played music videos during the Super Bowl, i would definitely elect this one for placement!

  37. Dum fucs says:

Inspiraaatiiionnn!!! dope as fuck mang!!!! Dope song…!!!its time to teach the lower masses about the truth of your ancestry!!!

  40. pienman says:

one of my favorite songs off the “distant relatives” ablum… damian went hard on this one! nas told him to go in & homie did

  41. Nkozi says:

Look at all these comments.. THIS is what WE want. Don’t tell us about who crashed their car or what their child support status is.. none of that shit is our business. A curious/inspired kid somewhere is gonna do his first ever research on the brilliant verses these men laid down. You can’t deny these brothers.

Dope video… When I close my eyes and picture hip hop.. I see EXACTLY this.

  42. Van says:

Much respect to the director Nabil, Nas, and Daiman for putting AMADOU & MARIAM in the video.

I use to think it was all bullshit philosophy and self realization prophecy but it’s really starting to become more apparent that only a small percent of people regardless of race, creed, or color care to know the truth. As wicked men use what they know to manipulate innocent people.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. – Ephesians 6:12

    This shit is surreal.

  43. HipHopper says:

This song reminded me of what’s missing in hip hop when it came out and today, this video is so fuckin dope! Anyway, like some of y’all said, I’ve always rode with RR but after putting this in the worst albums list and dick riding gucci and flocka, this will be my last post on RR. Peace out to the commentators, whether we’ve agreed or not, I still enjoyed your comments.

    So long!

  44. YoYoYo says:

Nas king of rap. Jay-Z King of music. Like Nas murdered Jay on ether, but Jay murdered Nas’s career when Jay put him on Def-Jam.

Def-Jam is a label where you start out on in your career, its not a label you join in the middle of an already successful career. Jay killed Nas’s career. I doubt Nas can ever go platinum again. Maybe 100,000 first week, but 1,000,000 will be 52 weeks later.

  45. Drazen says:

Distant Relatives was one of the three CDs I bought in 2010. Flockaveli was not one of them.

  46. Citylivin' says:

with hope this might end up on tv….notice how they edited it down….anyway this is dope as hell……take that YN, take that take that *Diddy Boppin*

  50. Smoove says:

  51. blackdude420 says:

  57. When i saw that YN Put this album in the Wack album of the year pile I lost alot of respect for him. I Use to support him over at XXL, and when he left i was a big supporter as well. But he has fell victim to bullshit. And Just think he is in his 40’s. Why wouldnt he want Nas to push rightgeousness to the people????

  58. CHRISTINE5980 says:

  61. rahrahrah says:

This is my favorite song off of the album, this is the art that the people. It’s too bad that the industry is quick to feed them what they want. I took my dog for a walk today, and the stupid dog wanted to eat dog shit and old ass chicken bones off of the road and out of the snow when I had a great meal waiting for him back home. Watching this video, I’m reminded that people are just stupid albums, they want to listen to nonsense, when there are artists out there who want to prepare art and nourish their souls. They want to listen to rappers talk about crime and violence, sex and drugs, ignorance and bling bling.

  62. James says:

DOPE!!I THE SONG IS ON ANOTHER LEVEL! JOC ?KANYE? BUT STILL CREATIVE!!?LOST TAPE?NEEDA DROP IT IM RUNNIN OUT OF PATIENCE!!

  63. haq says:

Great song and the video makes it even better.

  67. cmyers says:

  68. 757CYPES says:

  72. Chex says:

Much respect to Nas and Damian. Nas has been putting it down since 91, when Live at the Barbeque came out and has stayed relevant for 20 years now. You can’t say that about any other hip hop artist still living. Nas, true king!

  73. J. says:

this video just shows me how powerful i am

  74. YSS says:

BEAUTIFUL IS THE WORD TO XPLAIN THIS AMZING VIDEO, RICH WITH KNOWLEDGE TO GIVE LIGHT TO THE PEOPLE LIKE NAS SAID, AND WHEN HE SAID “THIS 1 IS FOR THE PEOPLE” HE MEANT TO THE OPPRESSED, AND THE AVERAGE PEOPLE THAT ARE BEING COMMANDED BY THE SYSTEM N SECRET SOCIETIES WHO WANT US TO KILL EACH OTHER SO THEY CAN GET RICHER, THIS IS KNOWLEDGE AND I AM PROUD OF NAS, UNLIKE MANY OTHER RAPPERS NAS GREW UP AND MATURED HIS LYRICS AND APPROACH, YOU CAN TELL HE’S IN A VERY GOOD STATE OF MIND, ENJOYING LIFE AND DEDICATING HIS TIME TO THE MUSIC THAT CAN HELP OTHERS TO UNDERSTAND THE REALITY OF SOCIETIES, NAS AND DAMIAN ARE TRUE SOLDIERS, THAT ARE HERE TO HELP EVERYBODY LIKE YN THAT DON’T KNOW WHAT’S REAL !!
