It’s Lil Twist’s turn for XXL‘s 2011 Freshman of the day. Down below, the Young Money artist discusses his style and who he’s eyeing to work with.
My whole swag is different. My whole style is different from everybody that was on that cover, and vice versa. Nobody on that cover is like me; they got they own style. Because everybody knows. Its insanely obvious to absolutely anybody thats listened to hip hop for more than 3 minutes that that was written. And it wasnt the objective here to just spit a verse, they were asked to demonstrate their freestyling skills. I wasnt happy when Kendrick did a verse either, but Ive at least heard him REALLY freestyle before and I know hes actually performing his own music. But I have no idea at this point if Lil Twist has even an ounce of talent or if hes been completely fabricated, which would be why XXL even has the Freshmen freestyles. Since he so obviously decided against actually displaying any talent, tho, Im probably gonna have to go ahead and assume that hes worthless and that other people write his shit.
Its a very pathetic day for hip hop when lyrical skill isnt even an issue for u slow niggas.
