Ok Yonkers is the first song I ever heard of this guy. Imean its straight, weird as shit but straight. That diss was still kinda soft BoB you aint really go at his neck like I thought you would but then i forget, rappers these days aint use to beefing and writing diss songs so I guess its good for what it is. ….well that was something. This song suffers the same plague as all B.o.B. songs, good flow and strong voice, but the lyrics are generic. This time around they’re just generic rap beef lyrics.
Honestly I can understand how tyler would think this wasn’t even a diss, because 99% of other rappers use lyrics like this on a regular basis without a direction. Only thing different is that B.o.B. doesn’t typically do that.
I did like the “airplanes” line in Yonkers though. This B.o.B. song is more like a warning shot. Like

But it’s the same deal with Drake. You get signed with a lot of buzz and expectations and you have to come out the gate with hits, real hits. I’m thinking by B.o.B’s third album we’ll really be hearing his own voice and not just syrupy pop songs. There’s a way to do credible songs that are still hits. and not corny (See OutKast, Kanye, Fugees).
OddFuture can talk all that shit, but once people have gotten over their provocative stlye and I-don’t-give-a-fuck rebel teenage attitude are they gonna have substantive music that people want to listen to? Remains to be seen…
