I KNOW I KEEP SAYIN’ THIS, BUT HAV IS ONE OF THE MOST UNDERRATED HIP-HOP PRODUCERS OF ALL TIME!!!! NIGGA GOT BEATS FOR DAYS!!!! IT’S QUEENS!!!! I SEEN THIS NIGGA ON YOUTUBE MAKIN’ A BEAT IN 10 MINUTES!!!! AND THAT SHIT WAS DOPE!!!!

    DON’T HATE ON MY OPINION!!!!

  2. BlaZe1 says:

WOW!! I always tried to find this sample….Hav is a genius…1 of the best beats ever

  3. Mook says:

Incredible beat. I don’t think there will ever be a beat as haunting as Shook Ones.

  4. Sincere973 says:

Sampled Production >>> Original Production …People always talk about how much Hip Hop has fallen off…yet I’ve always wondered why nobody has the balls to mention how much Production has fallen off! These lame ass software programs with Atari sounds…These digital sounds blow!! Hip Hop production needs to be blessed with real drums, real percussion, real horns, real basslines, etc… There’s no richness to beats anymore…If I hear 1 more stereotypical Southern Beat, with some played out 808’s I’m gonna go crazy…it doesn’t sound good! Wanna listen to some good southern production listen to Scarface albums, listen to Outkast 1st 3 albums with Organized Noize, that’s production!! And Havoc is definitely 1 of the most slept on producers Period!!

  7. Black Shady says:

Shook Ones II gotta be one of the best hip hop record ever!

  8. MXL says:

Yo, it’s dope that somebody figured this out, but ain’t this what Premier was goin’ off about on the “Moment of Truth” album, when he stopped the music to halfway-spaz on “you break record cats” who were “violating” by putting these records out and saying they used ’em? I’m just bringin’ this up for discussion’s sake. Couldn’t this cost Hav money?

  9. puerto-black says:

DAMN, you learn something new everyday. I like Break-days (Since the XXL Blog Days), puts people on to other music

  10. so icy boi! says:

  14. RikiWYWCM says:

This is major right here! Great find YN. *pressing play for the 4th time*

  15. …Damn. Havoc is shogun master on the mp never fails to amaze. Hope to hear this type of original production on Mobb Deep’s next serve coming. Whether it’s on G-Unit or not I don’t care (Blood Money was spun to nonrecognition on my walkman) as long as Hav’s on most of it with Alc doing the rest it won’t fail.

  16. Blank says:

Sounds like this was used on Cormega “Fuck Nas & Nature” too.

  17. Justin Mannes says:

    Weak beat!!!

  18. Tru Talk says:

How the fuck anyone sayin this shit week … Shook Ones II is one of the top ten rap songs of all time… Now one can argue with that

  19. People sayin its weak are just trying to get under people skin. (Rza voice: Fuckin Widiculous!) All Mobb Deep beats are unreal but this one and ‘Quiet Storm’ are on another level.

  20. Brahsef says:

    Best beat of all time.

  21. still best rite now!! says:

Dope!! it only took what…16 years! lol

so Hav must not have gave Herbie sample credit right…or else it woulda been listed in the album credits?

  22. Mike says:

YES! GARBAGE BEAT NO ONE MAKE> BEATS LIKE THE WESTCOAST!

  23. Talk is Cheap says:

    @Sincere973 – Do you produce?

Most of the digital sounds are samples of authentic sounds. The VSTs available these days are so precise most professional musicians would have trouble telling the difference. I got drums that sound like a left handed midget on a mountain was hitting a snare. It aint the sounds, its the lame producers, using the same progressions the same way they always have.

    @Mac Diesel – Can I get a ‘DON’T HATE ON MY OPINION!!!!’

  24. mac DIESEL says:

    ^

    YES SIR!!!!

I was listening to “still I rise” by pac yesterday man I swear his verse on that song was sum of the realist shit I’ve ever heard in my life real live shit man! Why can’t we get that rap back

  28. jordan cohen says:

    ***PROPS***
Finally somebody lets us know how the magic is made! Hav flipped that and made me a believer. Can we do this more often YN? I can only read about these southern bamas making the same videos and getting arrested only so many times.

    Thanks in advance.

And if you’re still diggin in the crates, THANK YOU PRODUCERS.
