Mack Maine Speaks On Tha Carter IV Super Collabo

With Tha Carter IV now listed as a June 21 release, YMCMB’s president Mack Maine speaks to MTV about a track off the album that will feature an unexpected supergroup.

“It’s more along the lines of a ‘Lollipop, People call [them] crossover records and all of that, but [it will be] just one of those [records] that will be liked by the masses. He’s still perfecting a few things, he’s a perfectionist … changing a few lines. We also have a huge record that wasn’t done yet. We’re in L.A. right now. We have a little studio time and it should be done probably by Monday.”

The Based God was featured in today’s NY Magazine. In the feature, Brandon touches on the controversial title, GLAAD’s response, his book and shares what price the major labels need to come up with to sign him.

You’re an independent artist, but if you did go the major-label route, how much would the corporations need to pony up to sign you?
A $10 million deal. Really, though, that’s just for you right now. To put a price on my career and what I do — $10 million is not enough.

So $10 million is where negotiations start. Most likely, it will be higher than $10 million?
Yeah. Way over that. My life’s very important.
