When it was announced that Shawty Lo signed to G-Unit Records two weeks ago, it left many scratching their heads. This morning, Fif turned to his Twitter account to provide clarity regarding the signing.
Announcement: I have a vision for the music business I worked on this idea for some time now its called 50’s new 50/50.

Ya’ll dont see the big picture here, who had the balls to go against the “King of The South” …shawty Lo, 50s aligning himself with a self made street cat from the south who’s as authentic as him and are setting up shop. Shawty got respect in the south, 50 needs the south so why not partner up with Shawty. Its a big music deal and watch 50 get someone from the westcoast who’s big. He’s not thinking as an artist he’s thinking as a CEO.

Nobody is denying 50 is smart but come on… this is not that crazy or uncommon of a deal. 50 is just taking less in hopes that it would encourage artists and their entities to push more on their own without crazy major label support (Investment).
