If people honestly think Jay-z is a “biter” they seriously need to reevaluate their thought process. Even with the amount of praise Jay receives, I still believe he is underrated. Watch this entire interview. The man’s a genius, literally. Unlike most rapper today, Jay does not just rap to “rap”…his music always has an underlying significance. Even a song such as “I Know” which, on the surface, most people would think he’s talking about a female when really he’s talking about drugs…and the way he can subliminally reference both topics throughout the song is pure genius. Jay is a poet. Analyze a song like “Lost Ones”…many of his songs do not get enough credit. What I love about him is that he is not only poetically advanced, but extremely smart, especially for the lack of education he received as a youth. With his intelligence and swag put together, there’s no wondering why Bey loves this man so much. He’s great.
