Both Otis and Nasty are in the same category in that they are more album cuts than actual singles. Its just that Otis is a lil more sonically appealing. Im a fan of both tracks, but Otis can actually be forced into a club setting. Hell it can be worked into commercials as well (think Boardwalk Empire promo) while Nasty is too cliche in that “old-school” sound. Im sure DJs could try to break it more, but it is what it is.
PAP hit rock bottom. I used download his mixtapes thinking this nigga was the savior of hip-hop thats when J. Cole was in college and Drake was on Degrassi now they killin the game like Papoose was spost to.
And…Nasir doesn’t give these sites and satellite stations the crossover appeal they need to satisfy their corporate advertisers. This is where the commercial culture lives, to think your going to find integrity here is just naive.
