Less than 24 hours after Lil Wayne’s “It’s Good” hit the ‘net, VIBE produced a quote from Weezy about his jab toward Jay-Z. It will be featured in their upcoming Oct./Nov issue.
Hmm. There will be some consequences, Jay-Z stans will not buy his music. Maybe he thinks there isn’t much overlap anyway, but Jay-Z stans still buy records. I don’t see why he replied to tge baby line when that was obviously true, but he was mute when Jay-Z attacked him on that TI track.

@m5P – I think you answered it yourself. The reality is that no one with a brain thinks that Em is the best MC. Nas is up there but not on Jay’s level. The reality is that Jay has more number one albums than any other solo artist, that is not a fluke nor is it something to diminished .

@Jones I think you’re misunderstanding what wayne is saying. Wayne is not talking about how you will perceive his (wayne’s) verse. He’s talking about how he (wayne) perceived and everybody else perceived Jay’s verse. He’s basically saying Jay knew how people would perceive that Baby line on HAM before he said it and since music is based on perception, Wayne had to respond. Since Jay made a double entendre which was definitely perceived as a diss towards baby, wayne has to come back.
Wayne is also saying he knows how people will take/perceive what I say before I even say it so Jay must know too. So now Jay has to live with it.

TBH i don’t think this is serious, i think they were both just playing around to keep it interesting. They have both complimented each other throughout their careers, and one day they will be on a song together again. Fact is dissing nowadays is more of a publicity stunt than anything else. Jay dissing Wayne on HAM got ppl talking, free publicity. Wayne dissing Jay on Its Good got people talking. Now people will want to listen to C4 if they like the song.
And for the record people don’t go after Eminem not because he is white (maybe 10 yrs ago it was a big deal, but honestly i dont think people really care anymore if he’s white or not.). Him being white is old news, and its general consensus throughout the hood, suburbs, and even in the music industry agrees that Em deserves whatever he has done. He is relevant, seeing as how he has sold 2x Jay’s numbers with about 5 less albums. Since 2010 alone he has outsold JayZ since BP3. I like both, but if i had to pick Em would no doubt be my fav and imo the GOAT. Jay is a GOAT too, or is in that circle.
People don’t diss EM because if you look at his track record, he isn’t one to be fucked with. He grew up battle rapping, something that many mainstream rappers didnt do nowadays. He has had beef with Canibus, and has crushed all of MURDER INC. He’s dissed so many people even he’s lost count, and people simply do not fuck with him in this day and age. Nick and Mariah try to diss him, and they get lost in the crowd. Em has reached a level of popularity where even beating him would do more harm to there career than good. Em has fans that span all races, something most rappers can not claim they have.
Also if you observe, Eminem is something of a hermit. He appears for his music, and its a huge event in rap…if you doubt this you are delusional…then he disappears with the exception of a few high profile concerts. Both Em and Jay have reached a level that they do not need to prove their worth, their worth is obvious.
People diss Jay Z more because he stays in the spotlight, he makes headlines not only for rap but for his wealth, business, etc. Fact is also that while Jay may have fell off from his Blueprint days, he isn’t lyrically hungry anymore. Eminem’s career has been vastly different. For Em’s first 3 albums, he was at the top of his game, and no rapper would mess with his talent. When Encore came out, and although i liked it, people had an oppurtunity to attack him as he didn’t seem at his peak. Proof died and he overdosed, anyone dissing Em would be seen as a heartless bastard and knew he wouldn’t respond.
Even though people hated Relapse, again i liked it, they hated his accents, lyrically it was clear that if Em wanted to he could easily not use an accent and turn his rhymes against whatever opponent called him out. Not too mention Em was hailed as a hero after his near death experience. After Recovery, Em hasn’t had a weak point. After BME, people will not fuck with him.
