Nas Reconsiders Lost Tapes 2

After stating that he scrapped Lost Tapes 2, Nasir tells Rolling Stone he’s not completely ruling out the project. Take that Def Jam.

“It’s still up in the air if I’m going to put out Lost Tapes II as an extra album. Hopefully we can find a timeline but the first thing is Life Is Good.”

He needs better beats fuck with Boi-1da

  2. NOVA says:

To say I LOVED The first lost tapes is an UNDERSTATEMENT……..i NEED this second one.

Nas is Nas for these types of projects. EXCITED to here what happens. Lol at “take that def jam”.

Hey guys, if you like Big L, Skillz, Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliott, Jay-Z, Eminem, etc…you MIGHT like my music.

Take a listen to my music and let me know what you think: http://novatribe.bandcamp.com

  3. NOVA says:

and to @Hip-Hop Fiend….FUCK NO he does NOT need “Boy-1da” beats…….Preemo. Pete. The end.

  4. Fuck a blog daawg! says:

If he makes it a double disc (Life Is Good+Lost Tapes 2) it’d probably be more profittable.

  5. Converse says:

    Soundclick beats>>>>>>>>>>>>>Boi-1da
    ^

Nas voice is to light? he doesnt need no hippop beats? smh
    ^

Anyway this nigga is like a rollercoaster? shit gets annoying? make up your mind

    Life Is Good: Neverary

  6. Music Stylz says:

Damn…the first thing someone mentions on a Nas post is “he needs better beats” this is how you know it is just a repetitive/tedious statement. If Nas had what the complainers would consider the “dopest” beat they would still find fault with it. Thank goodness Nas’ career is blessed due to him being a great lyricist but we all know the industry is lacking in that category. Anyway, I hope he does release “LostTapes 2” because it will more than likely be better than niggas real albums.

  7. Chex says:

    @music stylz
Well said. The whole “better beats” argument is played. The only album I didn’t like from nas was nastradamus…besides that, he always follows through with nice production. How could you go wrong with salaam remi and LES?

  8. Dum fucs says:

YOU FUKIN LAMES FOR REAL LT2 WILL B BETTER THAN MOST NICCAS CAREERS!! BET STACKS ON THAT!! YEP NOT ALBUMS ….CAREERS!!! I CALL NAS THE CROWN LESS KING…THE HATE GOES BEYOND THE PLANE OF EXISTENCE!!

  9. Jack says:

I thought he scrapped that title life is good or am I buggin

  10. Black Shady says:

Nobody wanna hear Nas on some Boy-1da or 40 or T-Minus beats smh

Gimme a Nas album with some Premier and Pete Rock and im good

  11. Hip-Hop Fiend says:

Nas my favorite rapper I’m just saying the salaam remi beats is not cutting it no more. No one can argue that Nas is one if not illist with lyrics but I feel some of his songs that got overlook would of been classics if he would of had better production and even Premo couldn’t save it. He should fuck with some of these young producers to like Kane Beats, T-Minus, and a Kanye West beat won’t hurt.

  12. Ben says:

    ^naww go fuck yourself kid

  13. Bx Slime says:

Nas needs Preemo, Pete Rock, RZA, Dr. Dre, Kanye West beats end of discussion. The one thing I am really hoping for is a track with Eminem, that collabo is long overdue.

  14. Hip-Hop Fiend says:

What was Nas last classic joint? I’LL WAIT…

  15. i love gc says:

The dudes of Good Charlotte say “Alright, Cool Yeah” GCTV http://www.fan2band.com/sl/capitolmusicgroup/goodcharlotte/180841_45_5364

  16. BRu973 says:

The beats complaint about Nas are valid… SD had alot of wack beats, so did HHID & the Nigga Album did too…Nas is crazy ill & brilliant…but niggas that talk that “beats aren’t important as lyrics bullshit” need their pass revoked! Last time I checked rap music was the fusion of a Producer making a beat (Canvas) & the MC utilizing that canvas to get across their message. Fuck an Illmatic 2…just make a dope album…with dope beats & dope rhymes and not over the top on concepts and making niggas think…Just tell the world how u feelin Nas! That’s when u make ure best songs!

  17. Brooklyn says:

Prolly “Made You Look”. Nas has been slipping since God Son but Boi-1da won’t help maybe Kanye would tho

  18. Ben says:

^go fuck yourself pop queen! he made it this far without jumping on whats hot at the moment. so like i said go fuck yourself

  19. Microphone Killa says:

Nas is the goat, but beats are his weakness

  20. Jay-Z says:

I sold out and then got ethered.

  21. Power says:

Do a song with Joe Budden …

  22. Jay-Z says:

I have 12 number 1 albums shit load of grammys. I gave Nas a Job and he still couldn’t be relevant. My lil’ nigga J. Cole gonna show Nas what he could of done with his career after illmatic.

  23. Brooklyn says:

Jay-Z the GOAT. I don’t hear niggas jumping on Nas beats latley. Beats are just as important as Lyrics if not more thats where the MUSIC part comes from dumb ass niggas.

  24. Music Stylz says:

Nas don’t need a radio hit but he damn sure got album plaques for every single one of his solo albums. There are artists today with multiple so called hits on the radio and no album plaques. Nas is good with having CLASSIC albums fuck a radio hit. The pay check he getting from Madden 12 “Ghetto Dreams” is a hit, the money he gets for his music being scored in movies is a hit, the money he gets from narrating an award winning Emmy documentary is a hit and being a partner in the touring company that does RTB is a hit. By the way beats and radio hits don’t afford you a LEGENDARY career like Nas…that stems from talent!

  25. Carmelo says:

Nas talks about africa so much you think he was a runaway slave lmfao… He got lyrics but his beats are are fucking WACK. I don’t you want to start that money talk because Drake made the forbs list before Nas. Jay-Z more money and #1 albums than Nas had #1 hits or albums. Nas = 1 album wonder. He lives off of legacy.

  26. Stfu says:

Nas making an interview statement about his reconsideration of Lost Tapes 2 turns into haters hating on his beats…lmao! @Brooklyn…first and foremost no one has to rap over a Nas beat because the truth is Nas lyrics are dope and there are not many rappers with dope beats that can fuck with Nas lyrically.

@Jay-z you did not give Nas shit…Def Jam the label who fired you gave Nas millions of dollars for a 4 album deal. You need to worry about paying back that debt of 150 mill Live Nation gave you to make money for them until your damn near 50 years old. J Cole in damn near every interview praises Nas and complains about you not submitting your verse for his album as of yet. No diss to J Cole but he can’t show Nas a damn thing about a career before or after Illmatic because what J Cole is attempting to do at the age of 26 Nas was doing at 17 and to be honest Nas did it better and continues to do so. Nasty, Outro, Victory, Ghetto Dreams puts J Cole’s “Workout” to shame.

@Carmelo…what does Drake making a fake ass Forbes list before Nas or Jay having more money and # 1 albums have to do with Nas reconsidering releasing Lost Tapes 2. Nas can’t possibly be a 1 wonder album with 8 platinum album plaques and 3 gold album plaques. Any great artist such as Nas is suppose to live off his legacy. But Nas is blessed to have a lagacy, as well as, longevity…can’t say the same for many if his peers.

I did not think it was possible for stans of other artists to be insecure about Nas’ greatness! Damn you niggas are really turning a simple statement by Nas into an opportunity to hate on his beats and then attempting to take extra cheap shots. The Nas hate comes from deep within.

  27. dundilly says:

Nas does need better beats im talking like genesis his previous beats have been broke 4real..Beats are what sell cds these days so mix that with dope lyrics#who gone stop you hah !

  28. I just got a $ 829.99 i-Pàd2 for only $ 103.37 and my mom got a $ 1498.99 HDTV for only $ 251.92, they are both coming with USPS tomorrow. I would be an id!ot to ever pay full retàil prìcès at placès like Wàlmàrt or Bèstbuy. I sold a 37″ HDTV to my boss for $ 600 that I only paid $ 78.24 for. I use http://bit.ly/beta009

  29. Chris says:

You niggas need better beats, headphones…

  30. Fam says:

Nas needs to work with Kanye again. ‘Ye gives him dope beats…Still Dreamin, Poppa was a playa, etc.

  31. Tha Truth says:

Nas has garbage beats period it a a shame. That why I stop buying his albums. He don’t need to go commercial but he damn sure needs WAY better beats. Recently on his last album he had Cool & Dre and Pollow Da Don on there which were the only two songs I like on the album. He should make a whole new album with these producers a I bet he will be more appreciated and his music will be better with Kanye West, Dr. Dre, No I.D, Pollow Da Don, Just Blaze, and Cool & Dre.

  32. Musiq Stylz says:

I wish haters took as much time critiquing artists wack lyrics as they do Nas’s beats. Hate is such a weakness especially when it is unwarranted. Hip hop fans don’t go to such depth to tell artists to step up their lyrical ability but yet people go all out to hate on Nas beats. Nas is one of the artists that represents hop hop with passion but haters still want to express their dislike and make jokes about him talking about Africa. Nas did win a national Emmy for the ESPN documentary on the amputee victims of the Liberian civil war and Nas is also a spokesperson for UNICEF/George Harris that is helping children affected by the famine in Horn of Africa. Hip hop has always been the voice of racial, class, ethnic, gender, language and regional barriers. Nas is one of the most vocal artists that discusses these issues in his music. I guess hip hop has become so tiresome and mind-numbing that the fans expect every artist to march to the “beat” of the same drum. Thankfully, Nas is not your average cookie cutter artist. His legacy is not based on following the formula by the same producer used by very other generous rapper. Fortunately, Nas has the creativity of a true artist.

  33. Musiq Stylz says:

    Generic not generous

  34. Kunta Kente says:

@Musiq Stylz Wat the fuck is hop hop? Theirs not much you can do to make Nas a better artist besides his beats their fucking weak period . I stop buying his albums because I couldn’t sit through that shit. I’m not saying Nas gotta hop on Waka beats but fuck at least Kanye beats. Imagine if he had all of Jay-Z beats then their would be no disscusion who better. He can kick knowledge and still have good music just get better beats. Lauryn Hill had ill beats, same goes for Biggie. GET BETTER BEATS! @Converse get your WORD co signing as outta here, you a fuckin Wayne fan you don’t know shit bout real music

  35. Kunta Kente says:

@Music Stylz we do take most of are time to shit on niggas who need to step up their lyrics. This is one of the few time niggas is speaking out on a nigga who needs better beats bcuz its fucking true bout time niggas is saying this shit. You say Nas is a true artist I agree he is a great artist but true artist reinvent them selves try some new shit. He better not mention Sudan on his next album fuck Akon don’t even be on that shit. NAS NEEDS KANYE!

  36. HAHA says:

    @Kunta Kenta

NAS NEEDS FOR THE HATERS TO GET A FUCKING LIFE! NAS HAS DONE MORE CREATIVE CONCEPTS THAN MOST OF HIS PEERS. A BEAT DDES NOT REINVENT AN ARTIST. IF ANYTHING ALL. A BEAT DOES IS DISGUISE HOW WACK AN ARTIST ACTUALLY IS. WITH IR WITHOUT A DOPE BEAT NAS IS STILL SUPERIOR!

  37. Converse says:

    @kunta
    ^

Bitch nigga get the fuck off my dick! Dont worry about me you piece of shit. I listen to what the fuck I like, and that doesnt mean I cant listen to certain rappers or conscious lyricist. You just a close minded fucking retard. Why would you want Nas to rap on a hi hat beat? Shit I prefer the old skool sound when it comes to Nas and most Ny rappers. Otherwise shit is just odd and doesnt fit his style plain and simple.

  38. Converse says:

O yeah jump off the highest bridge dumb fuck

  39. Kunta Kente says:

@Converse paid for Carter 4 lmfao… fucking fag you prolly bought those spotted skinny jeans Wayne was rockin at the VMAs.
