Performing the weakest song on the album is bad. Having it be the title track is unforgivable.
J. Cole’s album is more like Luke Warm World.
There are to many skippable tracks.
After two weeks, only two songs will get frequent play… Nobody’s Perfect (best feature) and God’s Gift.
It’s like he’s going backwards with his career, from The Warm Up (which sounded like an album) to his debut (which sounded like a scattered mixtapes).
Support if you must. But remember, you can’t complain about garbage Rap albums when you continue to allow these young artists to get away with no identity and backpack gangsterism.

I wasn’t feeling this track at first, but it’s a grower. Idk if it’s album of the year cause we got WTT, Phonte’s album, Saigon’ album and the year ain’t over yet (but it’s a heavy contender, I gotta wait for a few months and see if it is still replayable).

Love Cole. But this album was a hot mess.
You might see it differently but that’s because we expect different things.
I thought more songs on the level of Losing My Balance, Dreams, I Get Up, Return of Simba, Home for the Holidays, See World, Killers, etc.
What I got was way underdeveloped beats and songs. The replay value on this non-existent.

I havent heard the album yet but from the couple songs I have heard some of the beats are underproduced but he also produces some hot ass beats like the Cant Get Enough beat and Dollar & a Dream 3. I also agree that all those songs you listed in your last post would make this album a 10/10 if they were in place of songs like Lights Please and In the Morning (Lights Please is hot but it wasnt even the best song on Warm Up). I didnt like Cole adding old songs to his LP, but hey, Kanye gave us over half his album for FREE prior to his release so why cant Cole?
We’ll ignore Carter 4 because that shits embarrasing, but Cole World has so much more depth and story to it then WTT (which is my second favourite album of the year so far). If Drizzy has his head on, and not his YMCMB head on then thats the only album I can see that MIGHT be better but for now its a Cole Cole World!
Im expecting closer to 300k first week.
Aye! We camping out for Cole World: The Sideline Story. I wanna be the first person in New Jersey to have a hard copy of the album. Last time I camp out was for Call of Duty. Cole World 9/27
3.5/5 It’s definitely not a classic in my opinion. It has a scattered mixtape feel to it. It sounds like he’s still trying to find his identity as an artist, but overall good album. He did use records that were previously released, but remastered. It’s definitely a good first effort.

If you been following cole for a minute…its easy to tell what he represents and what his style is. He’s just trying to cater to the mainstream with songs like “Mr Nice Watch” and “Work Out”.
Lost Ones, Dollar and a Dream 3, Sideline Story, Rise and Gift, Lights Please etc etc is the classic Cole. so no theres no Identity crisis going on. 200k first week….how that feel? VERY HAPPY!

I think when he first caught our intention, he wanted to be a pure lyrical rapper but he realized that it don’t work (Who Dat) so he is trying to diversify himself as an artist by making those songs like Mr. Nice Watch and Can’t Get Enough. He wants to follow Jay-Z ‘s footsteps in being an incredible all-around rapper, remember this just the beginning of this kid’s career.
We almost there. Getting my copy 2morrow. If ur a real cole fan, then u wont be disappointed. If ur were hoping that this album would be a classic and every track would give u goosebumps then u might be disappointed. If ur a hater who cant accept that Cole is better than 95% of rappers out there, then gtfo. #Cole World
