Drake Explains Take Care Title

GQ scored an interview with Drake for their online division. In their discussion, Drizzy explains the meaning behind the title of next Tuesday’s release, Take Care.

You announced the title of this album, Take Care, with us back in December. What does it mean?
Drake:No one has actually asked me that yet. I came up with the name when I was on a bus in Birmingham, England, going to a show. “Take Care” is this thing we use in passing conversation to dismiss bullshit like, “Oh, you couldn’t make it on time? Oh, take care, take care.” We’ve always used that and then I really took so much care making this album. I knew I was going to go home and take longer than six months, I knew that I was literally going to take care of making this project and be attentive, be clear, be immersed in it. “Take Care” worked.

Take Care proves why Drake is the hottest in the game now. This album clearly displays the best of both worlds, which are fresh hip hop lyrics and soulful R&B singing. There are always a few songs on an album that you skip, not this one. I love the album. Drake is talented and I love what he’s doing for hip hop. It’s definitely a must have! Album of the year!

We truly have to put Drake in the converasation of the greatest RnB singers of our time. This is one of the best RnB albums I’ve heard in awhile. Better than Trey Songz PPP, Chris Browns FAME, and many more. Drake is defintely the hottest RnB act out right now.

The album stinks unless you have a vagina. The track with Ross and headlines maybe one other is dope but everything else was baby ass soft. Word from Toronto and he’s explained the title in two interviews Ive seen already. Phony response to a real question shows a persons character

  • Black Shady

  • Hip-Hop Fiend

Drake be full of shit. I remember this nigga saying he was inspired to do more rapping on Take Care not singing and he was gonna do R&B mixtape for his fans who want to hear him sing more. He also said he was gonna cut back on features, well he got more features then on TML. Drake be on that bullshit.

  • ayyee83

    Lmfao @memories

  • Word

There was a hint of sarcasm in my comment obviously but I still liked the album. Best song is Lord Knows and Underground Kings as far as hip hop songs go. Over my Dead body was the best RnB joint.. Good album overall. Only wasn’t a fan of Cameras and Practice but everything else was solidly.
