It’s obvious rap fans are yearning for the best new lyricist (perhaps to replace the greats). We’re willing to listen to anything, including VERY subpar “rappers.” which are the likes of anyone that use auto-tune, 2Chainz, Future, French Montana, Waka, Kid Ink ALL of whom have nothing more than a buzz.

Disagree? How come 9 out of 10 of you don’t have a Playaz Circle album on your playlist. When 2Chainz was Titty Boy?

i believe the last, maybe, 8 bars were off the top. not the beginning. but if they were i thought that was impressive.

next to A$AP Rocky, I’d say this guy has the biggest buzz out of nowhere right now. kid ink is all over power 106 in L.A.; has at least 2 songs currently in rotation. 3 months ago i never heard of him. kind of like how i feel about ASAP but more local. just tremendous media coverage out the blue. but he sounds solid, as far as what i think teens are looking for out their rap stars.

    @ Just My Opinion:

i think you are touching on some of what i’m feeling in terms of buzz. these artists owe their success more to promotion and hustle these days than the actual product. not to say they suck or anything but the way they get this concerted PUSH seems to be the main reason one mediocre guy blows up over all the other mediocre guys. none of them blow me away like WOW HE’S DOING SOMETHING SOOO BONKERS OR NEW. i think they are ok but not really unique from each other or KILLING it with their skills. to me they’re roughly Tyga’s level or slightly better. but every blog and media source is spreading their name so my hipster friends or white girl friends all got they name coming out their mouth. i just feel really cynical and suspicious with rap now. idk can’t explain it better.
