  2. @tshiamofs says:

This pretty much summed up this post.

  4. mac DIESEL says:

JAY ELECTRONICA’S DEBUT ALBUM > DETOX

    ……..FUCK YOU DRE!!!!

    DON’T HATE ON MY OPINION!!!!

  5. G-Cass says:

It will be the greatest hip hop album since Illmatic, Thetford is top 5 dead or alive.

  6. HIPHOPCRITIC says:

HES ONE OF THE MOST OVERRATED RAPPERS HIS FLOW IS BORING HIS LYRICS ARE GOOD BUT HES ALMOST 40 YEARS OLD SO I EXPECT HIM TO SPIT LIKE HE DO AND I ONLY HEARD 1 GOOD SONG FROM HIM SMH TYPICAL INDUSTRY HYPE

  7. SMILEY says:

GAY-LECTRONICA IS A MIMIC RAPPER..HE TAKES EVERYONE ELSE’S STYLES, CADENCE, ETC….AND TRIES TO PASS IT OF AS IF HES SOME ILL MC…ILL PASS…

  8. ........ says:

Well I don’t expect Jay-z to say anything else other than what he said…but Exhibit C was the only impressive song I heard from him and the production was more memorable. But I’ll wait to see the outcome. Like Questlove said “it won’t be released until he has a single.”. Maybe, jay-z is creating one for him.

  9. Donn says:

Smh dudes calling an album they havent heard yet a classic lol. Smh..

  10. Realniggashit says:

    I’m buying it

  11. Hell says:

Exhibit C?!? DAMN well no wonder you ain’t feelin him like that… Exhibit C is definitely NOT one of his best tracks. Check out the full fifteen minute version of Act I: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and go from there.

PS- @ SMILEY, go ahead and give an example of literally ANYBODY that Jay Electronica has bitten off of. ANY cadence, ANY style, ANYTHING at all.

  12. Luminous Story says:

Jay Electronica is top 5 of this decade… I’d put him above Kanye but I’ll wait til his album comes out.

  13. Kemosabi says:

I have never heard a wack Jay Elect track in my life. J.Cole went through the same scrutiny and ROC Nation backed it up with Cole World. It is silly to call something you haven’t heard a classic but if I was a betting man I’d bet on it being just that

  14. BBGUN says:

    I thought J.Cole was Jay Z’s protege.

Im pretty sure Jay wouldn’t say “ya its alright nothing special” What a pointless post.

  15. pienman says:

really….really Jay-Z! u also said u wasn’t working on any new music…that u was chillin with the lil one!

its was also said that the jay elect album wasn’t coming out due to the fact it had no singles…. then he gets on mtv talking about “album” no singles.. jus the whole concise project!

the verdict is out on what he said

  16. HIPHOPCRITIC says:

HOW IS SOMEONE 5 YEARS YOUNGER THAN U A PROTEGE??

  17. BBGUN says:

Lets worry less about Jay electronica and worry a lot more about getting that second J.cole album out this year.

  18. Realhh says:

Hey you guys missed he dropped Dear moleskine back in april the full version better late then never?

  19. Realhh says:

Hey you guys missed he dropped Dear moleskine back in april the full version better late then never? Its prod by justblaze

  20. @pienman says:

It was never said that Act II wouldn’t be coming out due to a lack of singles. The comments you are referring to were made by ?uestlove, who was semi-quoting Jay Z, who supposedly said that it was his favorite album to listen to but it didn’t have any singles. Nothing about shelving it, and the sourcing is so bad that a legitimate news outlet wouldn’t even have reported it.

  21. Kingdom says:

    @BBGUN

Um… let’s not, and focus on actually getting an above-average album this year.

  22. slm says:

what a webite go check it out http://www.streetleaguemovement.com a must see

  23. Hip-Hop Fiend says:

Jay-Z just wants to take credit for Jay Elect. Jay Electronica prolly had no plans of signing with a major but Jay Elect said Hov gave him an offer he couldn’t refuse. Jay Electronica is the only Roc Nation that didn’t sign a 360 deal got all creative freedom and no dead lines. Jay Elect does not do tours or many interviews. He is a major label nightmare. Jay-Z know he will put out a classic and he wants it to be under Roc Nation…. So I’m looking forward to Jay Electronica’s one and only album!

  24. Haha says:

    @Hell
You ever hear of Killah Priest. Jay Elect is nothing more than his knock off.

  25. BBGUN says:

    @Kingdom
Good Luck Bro. You will be waitin for that album for a while. Youll get detox before Jay elec. Ha!

  26. loch121 says:

I think Jay Elect will drop something classic.he got access to more things and help to guide him.Dude is a beast.

  27. buzz says:

i would love to hear a good Jay Elect single featuring Jay-z to boost anticipation for this album

  28. Soulo says:

Ab Souls Control System is the album of the year right now we’ll see if Jays is better

  29. DJ Semtex's Prosthetic says:

godamn wheer u been jay elect

  30. the brain trust says:

It’s such a shame that this nigga’s album hasn’t dropped.

He’s genuinely an unbelievable MC & has the potential to be one of the great ones.

You can’t listen to songs like ‘Dear Moleskine’, ‘Exhibit A’, ‘Shiny Suit Theory’, ‘Swagger Jackson’s Revenge’ & ‘The Announcement’ and tell me ‘he’s all hype’.

The imagery he paints, the expansive vocab, his brutally honest coverage of social issues, quirky metaphors & smart pop culture references ALL point to an incredibly talented writer.

The sceptic in me says his album is never coming out though.

  31. Devante says:

Jay Electronica is cool but his dislike for drum loops throws me off and he sometimes ends up all over the beat with a terrible delivery. But his visual lyrics and wordplay make him worth the hype

  32. Speal Rit says:

Jay Elec has literally never released a weak verse in his career. However, I won’t believe shit about the album till it’s out in stores.

If the issue is not having a “radio single,” Jigga and his TI companions need to man up, think outside the box, and realize that someone as talented as this can revolutionize the game simply by making the music he wants to

  33. Capeman says:

I know Jay Elect won’t dissapoint, but Jay-Z sounds like being forced to say that….

  34. Nathanial Hörnblowér says:

Just dont water it down mr carter. Let this man craft a whole piece of art. Numbers don’t lie but sometimes rappers are forced to. Drop the album it’ll all Work Out.

  35. JADatsyuk says:

I honestly forgot all about this dude. He’s been signed forever, yet hasn’t released a debut album? Hasn’t he been signed for like 4 years?

  36. G-Cass says:

‘I honestly forgot all about this dude. He’s been signed forever, yet hasn’t released a debut album? Hasn’t he been signed for like 4 years?’ – signed November 2010, 18 months.
