  5. Chicago Style says:

Less Lupe Fiasco, more King Louie!

  6. FTW says:

How is this shit not dope?

If this isn’t dope then what would you consider?

Imo.. while schools close and prisons open artists like lupe will only appeal to the educated. The masses now become insulted by being told what they don’t know or hearing a word they don’t immediately understand. The dumbing down of the people has resulted in a not so bright status quo that has essentially rejects formal and or informal education.

  7. ayeee says:

    @mac DIESEL
    agree!

  8. fitim29 says:

Lupe throwing shots at typical rappers. Rented Lambo and 20 chainz.

  9. Jinx says:

  12. Kal says:

Damn, this nigga 3 albums in and still broke as hell. Good thing it’s all an act to keep u hipsters on his dick.

  13. pienman says:

    damn, I LUV THE VISUAL…..

keepin the glowin eyes as he illuminates the mind

  14. KoldCase says:

how the fuck is this not dope

  15. Nathaniel says:

    @Kal

nigga sell out tours domestically and internationally. far from broke, my nigga.

hope this new album lives up to expectations. “the old lupe” isn’t the move. the truest, rawest lupe, however, is.

  16. Blaxdon says:

No disrespect but I wouldn’t want this weak ass nigga or his soft ass song fucking up my famous sample/beat neither. Not until I heard the song/saw the video did I get what Pete Rock was saying. He’ was being disrespected by this weak sauce and he knew it .Shout outs to the new school but Lupe lost it. I’m still mad at that nigga over lasers which I bought (asshole). I hear what he is saying but I don’t want to hear that shit from him. Common yes. K’naan. Yes Yeezy. Yes Erykah badu etc.etc.You Lupe no—I don’t believe you or respect you enough. Hottest thing about this whole song/video was the beat. Which is a major problem. I don’t know what happened after dumb it down.

  17. Lawrence B says:

Just hope this doesn’t make the album.

  18. street_jargon says:

a bunch of haters on this site. album’s called great american rap album. dude opens up the first single with a reference to pine ridge and the native american’s plight. dude’s dropping jewels and ppl are like “nah i dont wanna hear this shit” like it’s in bad taste to rap with substance. this guy’s trying to make positive cool AND he’s ill on the mic and ppl still hate. video’s dope too. subtle subversion with this one. rent-a-car… overabundance of chains… weedholders fake gangsters in the back LITERALLY cartoons lol. I fucks with this. can’t wait for the album.

  19. Lupe has 0 flare now bruh… Just gotta hey used to this new shit

  20. otis ocean says:

I see he still keepin it 1000000000% real while yall hate cuz he made your favorite rapper look like a grown buffoon ass minstrel. Only mainstream cat I can think of who make songs like this CONSISTENTLY and don’t go from this back to “I was a nigga in paris who fell in love wit a porn star” etc.

  21. L says:

When a rapper do drop a dope song you all still complain.

  22. Real Deal says:

Dope video. Lupe is a beast and will always be one.

  23. JReezy says:

Lol @ Jinx, I agree. The messages were still there but the pop vibe overshadowed what he was talking about on Lasers. This type of track is the Lupe I’m used to hearing.

  24. Kwood says:

Agree with FTW on the educated can feel lupe, I like, and I didn’t have a problem with lasers there were some really good tracks on there. He is the only rapper I can count on to try repeatedly to get messages out to MY people, even if they don’t want to hear it. GO GO GO GO, Love Lupe!

  25. zezzoi says:

Lupe is crazy lyrically. every song. even the pop ones on Lasers…

what else do you people want?

  26. wahrheitsgetreu says:

this is the shit. if the album is on the same level as this joint and Bitch Bad song – it’s gonna be a problem

  27. CJF says:

back to the old Lupe! love it!

  28. SkiDaROC says:

I gotta be honest I thought this video was gonna be the wackness, but I’m pleasantly surprised to see its tight work. Its gloomy, with subtle imagery that many won’t catch. @Kal Lu is far from broke, dude probably owns 30 cars, with 10 of em being Ferraris. He had a entire spread in Maxim mag talking about his whips. Crib in the Chi, crib in Pasadena, he ain’t hurtin….

  29. Kal says:

Every one of you smart dumbasses missed the point. I know he’s not really broke; just like everything else about this guy, it’s a pretentious act so that you douches say the exact same kind of dumb shit that’s all over this page.

  30. rahrahrah says:

Good video. Great if you’re comparing it to the usual suspects. Would like to see KRS1, The Coup, Immortal Technique, Dead PreZ, Chuck D on a remix. With Pete Rock and CL in that video to show its all love.

But those are my sick Hip Hop fantasies.

  31. M.T says:

    Good video. still bumping this.

  32. midwestg says:

    hip-hop nigga

  33. coloradoknight says:

is this is a mockery of rappers in the industry today? That’s what I took from it. Rap is the only music that has an issue with itself. It’s a never ending cycle. Think about it.

  34. dopefiend says:

    Shyt is hot lava mang…..realness!!!!

  35. Boo Rab says:

Our the white eyes his way of getting back at Hopsin? Kinda seems like it…

  36. Lethargic1 says:

@Boo Rab I don’t think so. Video was dope and the message was just as good. Lupe has always been nice but Atlantic made him release some garbo songs for Lasers to be released. FNL2 will be ill.

  37. Architect says:

Lasers was not Lupe’s album, it was Atlantic Record’s. And I’m actually being literal here. If you look at the covers of his 3 albums only the first two say Lupe Fiasco’s, then the title (Peep the possessive apostrophe “s”). Lasers just has his name at the top, straight Lupe Fiasco. PLUS his first two albums open up with a a poem written by Iesha Jaco (his sister) while Lasers does not. In fact he already revealed her opening poem for F&L2 a while back so… yea. Lasers doesn’t count.

  38. Phonte says:

    @Boo Rab lol nah bruh

  39. Guare456 says:

HE KILLED THIS SHIT RITE HERE.. THIS WHAT THE FUCK SLAUGHTER HOUSE NEED TO BE DOING.. KILLING SHIT.. WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT THROW AWAY BULLSHIT.. NIGGA PLEASE

  40. King says:

    @ Architect

“Words I Never Said” and “Show Goes On”

Those are the only 2 songs Atlantic placed on LASERS. Lupe made every other song on there, and he thought they were all great. Or at least that was the story directly from Lupe’s mouth when his shit leaked. So no, Lasers is a Lupe Fiasco album (minus 2 of the better songs), and he genuinely does think that “semi-conscious pop garbage” is the lane he should be in.

  41. Architect says:

@King…. You miss the interview when he said “Words I Never Said” was supposed to be about some guy and girl in a relationship? Specifically he said that track was given to him by Atlantic and that it was supposed to be “some Drake shit.” He flipped that himself and spit about world issues. He also went on to say he hated the John Legend track too. AND that because all of the shady stuff that went behind that albums creation he hated the album as a whole.

  42. King says:

Yeah, I know, he was a bipolar bitch that week, and as soon as it’s projections outstripped The Cool, he started talking the very next day about how much he loved the album.

I don’t care how he felt about it. I don’t care about his feelings at all, honestly. All I care about is the appropriate artists getting credit for their work, and LASERS was a Lupe Fiasco production first and foremost, no matter how much his stans want to divert the blame.

PS- The John Legend track is probably the ONE listenable track on the entire album. So maybe Lupe just has shitty taste in music.

  43. serisony says:

gossip gossip homie just stop it…..

This is an incredible record. Period.

  44. Casper Reynolds says:

    lupe fiasco is a beast

  45. @youngyela says:

Lupe is revolutionizing the hip-hop world. never before has ever been a rap artist like Lu’. Lupe is the Basquiats of the rap world.

  46. REALNIGGASHIT says:

I think the people callin’ Lupe corny and pretentious and an actor never listened to Lupe’s music BEFORE he came up. He’s always been conscious, it’s just he has the sickest flow and wordplay of any conscious rapper ever.

    Listen to “Coulda Been” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXDx3XkwS0o

The guy has always been a poet. Atlantic tried to force him to do a B.O.B album to hop on that fad, and they fucked up. But don’t forget what Lupe always was and let that stain your perception of now.

  47. Architect says:

@King Seeing as all the tracks you named on Lasers as listenable and good to you didn’t even include “All Black Everything” (Pretty much universally heralded as the standout record on that album) maybe its your taste in music that’s a little shitty. Just sayin’, cuz.

  48. TheCool says:

Wow. First Hip Hop video (besides OF’s) that is creative in a long time! Shit was dope. I like the car rental reveal at the end. Exposing these motherfuckers.

  49. Serious says:

This nigga just keeps getting cornier.

  50. CarLeetosWay says:

Me being from the South I can definitely appreciate what Lupe has done on a highly consistent basis. His persistence to educate and elevate are very inspirational.

  51. HK says:

Dope visuals – well thought out. He raises some worthwhile points in the song.

  52. HK says:

…lmao at the coon rapper kickin’ it the cartoon characters,

  53. Drock says:

Lu’ is gonna be the GOAT one day.
