This @funkmasterflex vs. Power 105.1 thing has 2 stop. Imagine if Flex used this much energy 2 break a new artist. He has the power to do so

So here’s the skinny. Last Friday, yours truly called out Hot 97′s Funkmaster Flex for putting too much energy into his beef with Power 105.1—instead of breaking records. Dialogue followed and Flex told me to make a list of 10 songs that I felt were overlooked for NYC radio play.
It wasn’t an easy task. And after listening to a string of recent releases, here’s a list of recordings that I felt had the most potential for the airwaves. Here they are: in no particular order.
1. Trouble “U Don’t Deserve Dat”
2. 360- “Own Thing”
3. 3′D Natee- “No Love”
4. Curren$y “Chasing Paper”
5. L.E.P. Bogus Boys “Kush & Leather“
6. Angel Haze “New York”
7. Big Krit “I Got This”
8. Lupe “Around MY Way”
9. Mac Miller “L.O.U.D.”
10. Super Jay “Put It On The Set”
UPDATE: Now with phone call.

Fuck Harvey Levin and anybody that loves his celebrity news website. First you prematurely pronounce the impending death of Lil Wayne (Weezy Forgives. We Don't.) and then you try to link the horrific actions of one of the Boston Marathon culprits to our culture? "DEAD BOMBING SUSPECT: HEAVY INTO HIP HOP" You don't say? It's 2013 and most kids are into rap music. We've been penetrated pop culture, you cock suckers. "What's interesting... hip-hop lyrics are notoriously violent and often degrading to women." So our music is at fault in this tragedy? Let's be clear the only bombs my culture cosigns is DJ Funkmaster Flex's sound effects. Thirty Mile Zone is prone to post anything to get traffic. Fuck dude and his coffee cup. Get you a Rap Radar cup and drink with us in the winner's circle.
Yo Mister Cee, the people feel threatened! Soliciting prostitutes is illegal and this is the second time your private affairs have been publicized. Get some help...and a room! —B.Dot
THE LIST IS DEEMED IRRELEVANT WITH THE ADDITIONS OF LUPE FIASSHOLE (C) (@THEKIDMERO)AND MAC MILLER
THANKS.
Only Ones Ill Give You Are, Chasing Paper x I Got This x Loud.
whats beef
I think that Denzil Porter dude from the bronx should be in that conversation dude is a MONSTA!!
#7 & #8 yes!…i didn’t listen to Curren$y’s & Mac’s….i’m pretty sure they good tho…i’m lazy listening to new music, too much bullshit ass music….but what about Joey Bada$$ tho??…that nigga dopeee!
@ B.Dot
I CAN’T BELIEVE U STILL GOT A JOB!!!! ARE U SERIOUS, NEGRO??!!! LAUGHABLE AIN’T THE WORD FOR THIS BIASED LIST!!!!
……HA!!!! QUEENS LOST!!!!
DON’T HATE ON MY OPINION!!!!
Krispy Kreme should be all over that list
This is so true. But, they would be played only if they had clout. DJs are irrelevant, they don’t break records/artists anymore, they play what they’re told to play. you know that @B. Dot.
They’ve become more groupies that anything, don’t believe me? Listen to a Funk Flex AND/OR Angie Martinez interview with any of the following rappers, Jay-z, Nas, 50 Cent, Game, Kanye West (rare) or Eminem. You hear more laughing and IRRELEVANT questions than anything.

But……on second thought….Wait………so REGULAR radio don’t play these records already? Plus, who still listens to terrestrial radio? No, for real. I have listened to regular radio in OVER 6 years. I only know these people from growing up. #gosatellite
Spitta Krit Mac Miller and Lupe are def on point as far artists w radio potential. Yall hate B.Dot way too much….
But to comment on the list, I don’t understand why 3D NA’TEE has not made it to the mainstream. She is lyrical beyond all means AND no comparison to anyone else. She stands on her own two.
3D Na’Tee >
except Krit and Lupe….I didnt give any other song a chance. Imma check ‘em out
^
And that’s fair.
@Faded 4evaNaDay i pay these clowns no mind.
You obviously sit behind a computer all day every day and get most of your music info from there bec
Kudos B.Dot, but proof read homie! LOL
What about Glasses Malone #rihanna
You obviously sit behind a computer all day every day and get most of your music info from the net because there are so many more records from NYC artists that deserve radio play from Flex on NYC radio. No Smoke DZA? No AL Doe? No Maffew Ragazino? No Dutch New York? No Dub? No Fred The Godson? No Vado? No Emilio Rojas? Come one man expand your music library to beyond what you see on the blogs!

@B.Dot before anyone bash’s the list you should get credit for taking a stance with someone of Flex’s influence. I ain’t gonna lie ten under played joints is a tough task for anyone to come up with. I cosign the list but you should show K.Dot some love lol
Smh… Trouble? I wish you could hide posts on Rap Radar
I know it’s NY just saying though
No “Bands A Maker Her Dance” bruh? …no Troy Ave bruh… Bruh you put 360 up there and the entire list for tainted and poisoned
^^^
Troy ave? Psssh hahahahhaha. That nigga is trash.
@Payso trust me, my ear is to the street.
I was one of the first, if not THEE first to tell the world about Mr. Lamar’s talents.
If it is then how can you put that list together for a NYC DJ to spin on NYC radio??? I mean damn man you didn’t put not one New York rapper on that list. We don’t have spitters anymore??? They don’t make records??? You cant go to any other city and expect them to break artists that aren’t from their city so why is it that in New York local talent isn’t supported….matter of fact give that list of yours to Kay Slay and see what he tells you if your “ear is to the street”
Hmm barely know 1 song on that list bro.. But all the people judging big club dj’s/radiojocks need to fall back because its easy to critize from the sideline.. But if you’re playing in a popular club/radiostation you will notice that the moment a dj puts on an underground tune or even commercial cuts that have no buzz the crowd will REFUSE to move.. dj’s know what i’m talking about.. and at the end of the day everyone gotta eat.
if u can’t make them dance or sing along you’re outta door..
3DNATEE x SPITTA >>>> I LIKE MAC MILLER TOO
My only gripe with the list is not necessarly the artists themselves, but it should’ve been more of a NY repersentation on there. Especially with the history of Hot97, Flex show, and NY radio in general. You have artists like Action Bronson, Joey Bada$$, Troy Ave, Mr. Reck, Push! Montana, Roc Marciano, Meyhem Lauren, Denzil Porter, etc that are really putting it down. And for them to be overlooked by NY radio (with the exceptional Kay Slay or Rosenberg spins after midnight) is just sad imo. Now you may make the argument and say, “Well I chose the songs that have the most radio appeal” but not all songs should appeal to daytime radio rotation. Especially during the time slot that Flex is on (from 7 to 12) You could’ve gave him some more street bangers that he can mix up with the mainstream hits. Mixing the hits from Ross, Drake, Kanye, Wayne, etc with the up and coming underground NY heat like Bronson or Joey Bada$$ would make terrestrial radio doper again.
I couldnt of said it better @Ali87 …The crazy shit to me is how a dude can put together a list like that and then right behind that say “my ear is to the street”…..shit like that is wild confusing. This is why NYC radio sucks now because NYC decided to jump on everybody else’s coat tail. Last time I was in Atlanta I literally heard nothing but artists from their region. I got back to New York City and it sounded like I never left Atlanta smfh
i feel @Payso cuz Smoke Dza is overdue a radio slot… but Vado and Fred get hella play on the radio when they make a banger. just waiting on joe budden
WACK MILLER? REALLY?

LMAOO….that shit is funny as hell…but sad.
J. Cole Rise and Shine, Dollar and A Dream, Nothing Last Forever
Pretty good list my dude. Def like krit n natee on there. Trouble is a dope ass artist also. He should have been the one to get the shine b4 Alley boy. But,he def talented. Right now I have spitta’s new joint n rotation. A lot of bangers on there too. So I respect that. Angel haze n super jay..I gotta check them tracks out. Ppl still sleep on Ace..B.L.A.B
I agree with everything @Ali87 said. im not too familiar with up and coming NY artists, but Flex should be giving NY artists more shine compared to other cities. its only right. DJs from other cities are not jumping to break artists not from their city
You Should’ve added Lil Reese “Us”. Hottest song in chicago after “I Dont Like”
Some of you are clearly missing the point of this list. Yall just throwing artist out there who do not get radio play but no 1 is saying which record is worthy. Like someone said Joey Badass at the beginning granted I like the kid but he has a long way to go, truthfully I doubt he will make the radio he doesnt make that kind of music, dude should stay the hardcore underground lane and develop his lyrical skill even more. And this is based on opinion so dont come at B. Dot neck at least he is looking to help some unknown artists get on the radio instead of the same 5 songs and YMCMB records they play all day on NY radio.
I really would love to see Mac Diesel list, I barely comment but any post i read he has something to say especially to B. Dot. Where is your list Mac? And you cant ignore this cuz you on this site between each breath you take so where is your list bruh?
@Confused We clearly did understand the point of the list. It still sucks and NYC still needs to break radio records from local NYC artists…..so what are you rambling about?
And what exactly is “that kind of music”??? were we saying that when stretch armstrong and Kid Capri was playing Wu Tang’s “Can It Be All So Simple” on the radio??? If its dope and from the city why cant it be played on NYC radio??? STFU with that “kind of music” nonsense
@ b.dont. your opinion will never matter.
Trouble. Really. Trouble.
what’s really being overlooked is that this sight is looking like a gay pride parade with all this gottt damn orange,
now @b.dot i see y you “fucks with mmg” if this is honestly the shit your into and find up this is why hip hop is in the state its in right now, bloggers that are jokes, this is ridiculous you know damn well you do’n't listen to no mac miller..
i remember when niggas said “Goldie” was a bad radio single…or it “wasn’t the type of song that would work on the radio”….smh y’all niggas boy with y’all mindset it’s no wonder radio is garbage now.
you should just put control system on the list instead..of this bullshit that shit was odeeeee overlooked
I’ll give you the Lupe, L.E.P b.boys, Krizzle, Currensy, and Mac Miller but B. Dot… Get off of 360′s nuts son.. I know you’re cool with him and all but damn he is not that good that song is a decent song just like 3d na tee just cuz she can flow for a “girl” doesn’t mean anyone wants to listen to that bullshit. Trouble song is decent that’s it and it’s number one? Come on I was waiting for this and I’m disappointed broski.. I’m waiting for Jay to get at u again haha
@B.Dot
The versatility is there, but this list isn’t for me, personally. I did, however, enjoy the 360 record. With some of the other records, same song and dance as far as beat selection and lyrical content. The lyrics are what’s giving Hip Hop a black eye. Lupe has the only record with an obvious positive message, but he chose to do it in the worst way (S/O to Pete Rock and CL Smooth). But then again, this is your list and I respect your opinion.
Joey Bada$$ needs to be there doe!
b.dot is a fucking joke as a hip hop blogger and literally has biased opinions, based on the money or “benefits” rap radar as whole receives..from false promotion..
