A disappointing verse from Jay. Same damn thing he’s been saying post-Blueprint 3. Those “Luxury Raps” were all well and good for Watch the Throne, but I know I’m not alone in saying I want to see him move on. Lyrically it fits the theme of the song he’s rapping to, but it kind of sounds off/forced. Anytime you see “New Jay-Z Verse” you’re interest is piqued. Unfortunately this just didn’t satisfy.

  2. Brooklyn says:

I challenged Jay-Z to make his next album NO beats or concepts from Kanye West or No I.D

  3. Nickey Negrito says:

Little something on that FOREVER YOUNG tip I see. It was cool …it was cool…..it was cool

I’M JUST A HUSTLER DISGUISED AS A RAPPER

  4. Throne says:

Hov we need a solo album next year

  5. Bry From Boston says:

watch the throne was the most disappointing album of all time… ive benn a jay fan before the band wagon.. i remember buying hard knock life the day it came out and being made fun of by people because they didnt know who he waws in the white community yet. watch the throne was absolutely horrible. the production was awful, the lyrics and flows were the worst jay has ever had. i dont understand how people review it on a positive note. kanye was awful as well. i miss his good production such as heart of the city, wouldnt get far, devil in a new dress, slow jamz, touch the sky, some people hate, guess whos back, dreams,… that kanye.i am NOT a bandwagon jay or kanye fan and i feel like WTT was the worst i’ve ever heard? does anyone out there agree with me? Jay was so lazy with his lyrics, i understand it was more of a kanye album but come on dude… i feel like it was supposed to be Jay & BIGs Commission album but Ye replacing BIG. Not one verse even compares to jays verses on I Love the Dough. Jay on I Love the Dough is when he was trying to match BIG, and his closest to being as good as BIG. I dont understand how WTT is coming from the same guy that put out Reasonable Doubt or Blueprint of Black Album. “COM’ON SON!”

  6. Boogie says:

@Midsize jerm you need to shut the fuck up Jay is the best hands down you don’t know about rap.. What would you prefer him to talk about

  7. Bry From Boston says:

i feel like both Jay & Ye’ were going with whats hot in the clubs… this techo, european, club crap… not the boom bap, not real rap/hiphop music… i hope Jays next solo has tracks just as good as BP3, like Already Home, Real As It Gets, Thank You. Anyone agree?

  8. Press Pause says:

Hate trying to listen to any rap verse live on stage…sounds horrible. Jay needs a black album ASAP

  9. Midsize Jerm says:

@Boogie. Bry From Boston pretty much said it. Plenty of diversity in topics on Blueprint 3, and if you don’t recognize that, maybe you’re the one who doesn’t know about rap. I mean, it only came out 3 years ago, and you already forgot that shit? Not a good look.

definitely his raps of late is targeted to get lil wayne and them highly upset, you ask how? well he’s reminding them how much of his money is actually his. That joint with Rick Ross and Dre set the example of how broke a nigga really is compare to him or his seed. Epic. now he’s challenging them to come up with innovative ways to increase their income. In a sense it’s a motivational tool for a lot of people again he’s here to save hip-hop. Anyway I gotta feeling Jay or Ye will use my tag name in a song! even though Pusha T beat them to the punch in “New God Flow” ( a cold killer with a hot temper)

jayz forever dope… and so is this… http://youtu.be/IvZvgDD7JxM

no its not. Jay-z always been rapping about this shit. stop reaching.

  15. Citylivin' says:

the funny thing is there was some diversity on WTT, from what i’ve heard because till this day i still haven’t heard the whole album…i just can’t sit through it….”New Day” is a great song…but guess what??…his fans don’t care about that shit they wanna hear the quick “2 Chainz, Niggas In Paris” type songs smh…..that’s why there will never be anymore “Dear Mama’s” or “Crossroads” type songs anymore that can be remembered for years…all these niggas sound the same and talking about nothing…..oh well fuck it…i done gave up on hip-hop….it’s only a few rappers doing it and you can count them on one hand…it’s fucking sad.

  16. JAY-Z says:

Ya’ll want some more introspective ish? Grown man theme music?

  17. kpamma says:

i’m bout to go put in old jay

  18. CONCEPTS?!? says:

@Midsize Jerm, blueprint 3 was dope, and the best rap album of 2009 and one of the best albums of that year, i wouldn’t mind if jay made another one like it, maybe with a little ‘American Gangster’ touch to it. He still got it

  19. #RNS says:

You niggas really don’t listen 2 music you just skim through it… Or you’d rather just troll… I’ll keep it a hunnit… Hov STILL run circles round your fav emcee especially if its anybody wit a lil, chief, or number in they name… WTT was horrible huh? No diversity? So Murder 2 Excellence or Welcome 2 The Jungle, Or No Church In The Wild (2 name a few) was on it huh? FOH…

You don’t like when Jay talk money but love it when Rick Ross or whoever it is do even though Hov got more, huh? You niggas sound like bitches… Jay the GOAT

  20. Donn says:

Lol ppl critiquing Jay and giving his reviews, this nigga has made his mark in the history books. No one cares if u don’t like him, the rest of the world does.

  21. c gigs says:

#RNS knows what’s good, old head. All these other posts from young’ns on that bubble gum bee bop shit. ZERO depth to Rick Ross or 2 chainz and even Wayne who keeps that lil in front of his name fell off. This is Jay everyday

  22. retta says:

While some on here bitching, Jay is all overthe map…Phillie, the France seas, London…u heard?

  23. retta says:

  24. bcro28 says:

@retta, are you getting paid to inform us were jay-z is at. LOL all joking aside that nigga rg3 is a beast.
And living in VA, I get a front row seat to his show.

  25. michelle michelle says:

He does this for the culture. If u can’t respect that ur whole perspective is whack.

  26. Hip Hop says:

    Y’all leave jay alone

  27. lll says:

    LMAO
I don’t even need to say anything else.

  28. Nickey Negrito says:

What i notice about people who write a long forum on their dislike for JayZ i see 2 things. 1) their seeking attention 2) they have become possessively redundant.

We heard it all before. It’s nothing new under the sun. I did the same crap for my dislike towards Eminem, and it was a waste of time. I figure, Em is going to do him regardless and that same notion is for Jigga also.

Stop acting like dudes can’t spit. You know their legacy and that speaks in volumes. Being critical to a veteran is stupid. But for these newcomers with arrogance and a lack of respect for hip hop is a another story.

STOP SEEKING ATTENTION, AND EVERYBODY ELSE DON’T RESPOND TO ATTENTION SEEKERS.

    ~a complete waste of typing~

  29. PEEP says:

Rap has no culture anymore. Just remnants of what it used to be. Pimped out industry.

  30. james says:

@Bry from boston listen to the lyrics from “on to the next one” pal, this is exactly what jay’s talking about, he’s moving with the times, thats the reason he’s been able to stay relevant for so long, he doesnt stick with the same old style, he pushes himself and challenges himself to switch up the style.

  31. JK says:

Rap is corporate, Hip Hop is the culture. Breaking, Emceeing, Graffiti Writing, Street Language, Street Knowledge, That’s Hip Hop! – and as long as we breathe these elements, Hip Hop is forever
