New Video: Nas x Amy Winehouse “Cherry Wine”

While serving drinks, Nas keeps his eyes on Brittany Dailey‘s cocktail dress in his new video. The clip is directed by Jay Martin and features projections of the late Amy Winehouse.

Although it’s well put together, isn’t it kinda odd that she died from alcohol consumption and yet, the treatment takes place in a bar? Either way, support Life Is Good here.

    Cool video. Love the song.

    RIP to Amy….beautiful voice

Dope album from Nas. Such a shame the support aint really there from folks.

  2. Danny says:

Although your comment is well put together, isn’t it kinda odd that they told Amy to go to Rehab and she said NO NO NO.

It would of been kinda weird for a song name cherry wine not to have wine or cherry in it though!

  3. larry says:

    B. Dot, that alchohol consumption joke was completely unnecessary. Show some respect, if it was a rap artist, you would have never pointed that out. Cmon bruh

  4. Frank KiD says:

Nice vid. Nas has been on a roll for awhile now.

  5. B.Dot says:

@larrry, that wasn’t a joke, it’s the truth and observation. If an artist got shot, i wouldn’t expect the posthumous video to take place at a gun range. would u?

  6. mac DIESEL says:

    @ B.Dot

AND U JUST FIGURED OUT THE SONG IS CALLED CHERRY WINE AND SHE DIED OF ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION??? DAMN, U SLOW!!!! DID U GET WALLOPED UPSIDE YO HEAD LIKE GUNPLAY DID IN ATLANTA, BRIAN???

………. HA!!!! GOOD VIDO, BETTER SONG!!!! QUEENS WINS AGAIN!!!!

    DON’T HATE ON MY OPINION!!!!

  7. Real Talk says:

This is a GREAT video! The people on rap radar take ever opportunity to disrespect the work & accomplishmrnts of Nasir Jones…they wouldn’t have it any other way. Unfortunately, the disredpect is aimed at Amy Winehouse but it is indirectly a shot at Nas’ video taking place in a bar where alcohol is served. Although the song is titled “Cherry Wine” with Amy singing the chorus about such topic, they take cheap shots that the video takes place in a bar. I guess it would be too mature of them to say the video is good and leave it at that. Well at least they stated, “Support Life Is Good.”

  8. the real truth says:

Top 3 ever with Jay and Biggie…. not even debatable….

  9. JustMyOpinion says:

Yo y’all harass the heck out of B. Dot. This guy takes a beating in this site. At least, he shows appreciation for the sites’ visitors UNLIKE @ Big Homie. That dude never respond. Show B. Dot some respect y’all.

  10. JustMyOpinion says:

    Great album, great video.

  11. Ryuk says:

It is odd. Just as odd as you guys saying that you hate all the recent embarrassments at these award shows due to fights, and yet you keep promoting the situation by posting videos and such.

  12. Kunta Kente says:

B.Dot is a Jay-Z stan so its expected he makes ignorant comments on a Nas post smh… “ALTHOUGH IT’S WELL PUT TOGHETHER”- why couldn’t you just couldn’t just leave it at, its well put together?

  13. Kunta Kente says:

@JustMyOpinion You can take several seats fuck boy! Stop dick ridin

  14. larry says:

@B. Dot, no shit it takes place at bar, the song is called CHERRY WINE. This video has nothing to do with Amy’s alcoholism. You smarter than that, dont be ignorant.

  15. Dashing says:

I don’t think B.Dot’s concerns are really an issue. And an argument could be made that Amy would be happy with the video being shot in a bar….

I DO think this video could have been A LOT better though cause this song has the potential to be a big record. I think they should have featured more clips from Amy Winehouse and made the video less about shameless shots of some female and more in line with the record, about falling in love. Woulda been a more universal look.

    That’s my .02.

  16. mac DIESEL says:

    @ JustMyOpinion

B.DOT PUTS HIMSELF IN THE POSITION TO GET SHITTED ON!!!! DOES B.DOT MAKE ANY CRITICAL COMMENTS ABOUT ANY OF THE ARTISTS HE’S BIASED OF???? NO!!!! BRIAN IS A SHAMELESS BIASED “JOURNALIST” AND CRITIC WITH NO INTEGRITY!!!! I DON’T EVER REMEMBER SEEING A B.DOT POST WITH UNBIASED CRITIQUING OF JAY-Z, MEMPHIS BLEEK, MMG, MACKELORE, MAC MILLER, 3DNATEE, AND HIS ALL-TIME FAVORITE LOCAL ARTIST 360!!!! SHOW HIM SOME RESPECT FOR WUT??!!! HIS CREDENTIALS ARE QUESTIONABLE TO SAY THE LEAST!!!! BIASED JOURNALISM DOESN’T GET YOU RESPECT OR B.E.T. AWARDS!!!!

……….IT JUST GETS YOU TO BEING #7 ON THE SAUCE LIST!!!! HA!!!!

    DON’T HATE ON MY OPINION!!!!

  17. p. dom says:

Just post the content and keep your ”insights” to yourself, B. Dot. Salute to all the commenters that checked ol’ boy.

  18. G.O.O.D.BoySwag says:

You’re all fuckin dumb. Videos tight. “If it was left to me I’d revive what the game be bout, I’d’ve took the wine outta Amy house” y’all wasn’t so mad at joe budden was you?

  19. Nathanial Hörnblowér says:

Yup Joe said it best. I’d’ve taken it out too.
Sympathy goes out to the ones taken from us, not to the ones who don’t appreciate and respect life and ultimately do it to themselves.

  20. dbird says:

Nothing wrong with what you said B.Dot i see no disrespect at all nor was it out of line

  21. That Guy says:

    B. Dot can’t accept that Nas is better than Jay-z. No one says Nas got “taken over,” but we do say jay-z got “ethered.” Jay isn’t touching Nas. Accept it and move on. It’s not that serious.

  22. J says:

    @ Real Talk.

Unfortunately, Nas gets the bare minimum love around these parts. You would think that after such a classy, adult, poetic album, Nas would get more accolades for moving the culture forward. Not in a way that counters Jay, as always, they’re both necessary and complimentary forces.

This video is really well done. It’s smooth, not flashy or self promoting. This dude is Top 5, still relevant, and making videos that aren’t doing anything but expressing the song as they should be. Well done.

And man, Amy went overboard, but drinking was obviously a vice she truly enjoyed that was a constant theme in her music. I’m sure she wouldn’t want the artistry of the video to be sacrificed.

It’s not that the comment is a huge deal; but little by little when no love is given and minor slights are listed, it piles up.

  23. mr.kee says:

im sure Amy would of wanted it this way

  24. Real Deal says:

Great Video for an excellent song

    DON’T HATE ON MY OPINION!!!!

  27. M.T says:

This was a really nice video. love this song. RIP Amy Winehouse
Life is Good is album of the year

  28. M.T says:

Also LOL@ the comments. niggas are taking B.dot’s comment way too seriously. That being said, It may be odd but considering the fact the song is called “cherry wine” it was appropriate for it to take place in a bar.

  29. rahrahrah says:

Thanks for the video. I need to buy this album. I bought Distant Relatives, but haven’t gotten this as yet. I should get this and food and liquor, let those be my two hip-hop albums for the year. I’m on a budget.

  30. Royalty of this shyt! says:

    Dope!!!

  31. rahrahrah says:

I was just looking at a Carlos Santana album on Amazon, and he had a collab with Nas. I’m always happy to see “musicians” that I respect collaborating with each other. Not pop artists or celebrities, but people who’s “artistic” contribution to a genre is appreciated. Not their commercial success. Commercial success just means popularity guys. Numbers may not lie but you’re a fool if you think they are the end all and the be all.

  32. DuCap202 says:

I whole heartedly agree with the folks that know real hip-hop…very talented emcee/RB collaboration, a beautiful video providing an image into the artistic music that they wanted to convey to their (us) audience. You have to appreciate the art at its finest and support good soulful music now. Life is good and I enjoy waking up to live this good life with all its twist and turns, it’s what we make it.
You should enjoy it too, stop being so negative and criticizing everything Mr. Jones put out for our delight to hear. But would bequeath some other talentless emcee that’s have no clue as the G.O.A.T. Wow! You need to take heed and wake up!
