Kendrick provided the musical entertainment during Samsung’s Galaxy Note II launch event in Beverly Hills last night. Up top, he gives a live rendition of track 3 off good kid, m.A.A.d city.
Like K.Dot or not, son is bringing fresh air to rap. Well, personally speaking, it feels great to listen to an album without A LOT of singing AND features. Now, when you purchase a rapper’s album you might as well purchase a compilation album. Props to Kendrick Lamar for respecting the art of rap, no pun intended.

^ I don’t anyone is saying he’s “bringing Hip-Hop back.” I think everyone is just happy there’s a rapper out there making music, not just creating a fancy hook and then saying NOTHING with TWO verses. If you think about; most of these rappers rarely ever do THREE verses anymore. These dudes are lazy now, want the fame, NOT longevity.

He has an album that you can listen to from start to finish and the first sound, thought and song goes with the last. It’s a complete body of work. Niggas need to stop skimming through music and listen for a change. He’s saying something in all of his music and I feel that when they compare him to Bob Dylan or 2 Pac it’s because he can make music that is socially conscious and you can rock to it like a Pop Record. Pac had niggas rocking to Brenda had a baby–but the shit was just as ill as any other song. People are missing the message in Swimming Pools (Drank) and it just shows that Hip Hop fans aren’t listening to music anymore–they just HEAR it. Even with that–I contradict myself because they HEAR when some Moon Shine king of the Monkey ass RAPPER tells them to trick money to bitches and how to blow their rent money.
