Odd Future’s Earl Sweatshirt’s hasn’t put out much material since his hyped up “return“. But tonight, he releases a new track over modest piano keys. After a couple listens, somehow, I’m still lost in translation.

Like it or not…He’s being honest, which is soul music, this is actually grown music. He’s a bit tortured, yet a great poet.

  13. Slim Baller says:

Lets be honest. Odd Future and anyone involved with them is completely wack. And corny and the message portrayed will never be anything sentimental or memorable like a “Nas” song or a Jay Z song. It’s all bullshit #Truth

  14. floridaboy says:

    decent.

    Yeah definately agree

Also, i’m so sick of odd future in general rapping over these minimalist beats and casio piano trap beats.

  18. me too says:

This is better than half the trash posted on the site..

  22. the brain trust says:

I know dude attempted to get personal and shit, but this song is pure basura.

Dude hits you with a barrage of multi syllabic rhymes but if you dig any deeper, it’s all garbage.

His mic presence is awful and he can’t write songs…….. or even verses.

  23. ECU says:

    Birdy-Shelter. amazing song

  24. T says:

    WHIK WHIK WHACK

  25. You’re lost in translation because you, like most others, probably jumped on the bandwagon before you ever actually heard dude.

Flow is dope… Beat is kinda cool.

  28. Santa says:

Were you listening to the words? It’s about why he got sent away and how he was fucking up. All that shit rapped up in some sick rhyme schemes

    fuck this site

  29. Donn says:

Y’all ask for lyrics and then when you get it, you say it’s wack, i don’t get it. That was lyrical murder, and with substance. Like listen to the words. I mean, to each it’s own I guess, I just don’t understand how Hip Hop fans could hear this lyrical assault and say it’s wack. That’s his style, his voice

  30. Santa says:

    @Donn

Really tho that’s exactly what I was thinking. Is there a blog that actually listens to rap?

  31. Siy@ says:

Fuck this is dope … South Africa in this bitch !!

Believe it or not lyrics aren’t everything. They’re important but if the music is boring and the structure sucks and all you hear is “lyrical miracle clearicle blearicle” that doesn’t make you an amazing rapper or make this song amazing.

  33. sessho says:

are niggas deaf? this is so amazing

  34. Blaxdon says:

These west coast nioggaz is on that shit all of a sudden. What’s in the water??

  35. Juicy says:

Donn is right. Yall must be trippin. earl is dope as hell… i still wait that Chuck Inglish x Earl Sweatshirt.

  36. Santa says:

    @thebullfrog24

If all you hear is “lyrical myrical clearicle blearicle” maybe you should actually listen

  37. DJ Black House says:

Yall are crazy, he crushed this joint, off the humble flow too!

  38. brooke says:

love it! bought it on itunes http://bit.ly/PXEVER

  39. Earl is a prodigy says:

You guys have the right to dislike the song, but not it’s content. This guy is makeing some pretty lean rhymes, telling a story of some of his life. And while Earl is part of Odd Future, he is his own kind when it comes to what he raps about – just listen to some of his earlier raps on youtube and you’ll see (or hear) what I mean. He is much less violent in recent raps and if you know at all what you’re talking about you’d understand how Earl’s raps are now much more relevant.
