The program was hosted by Kurupt and featured amateur rappers competing for, well, we’ll never know. When it was all said and done, Tyga lost to some other poor sap.
But if history has proven anything, it’s that rappers and gameshows don’t mix. These days, hardcore authenticty in hip-hop has gone the way of the dinosaur. So more than likely, this will blow over before the week is out.

Okay look guys, this show is fake. Tyga was putting on an act for the show. I grew up around Tyga. Although he’s not from Compton, he is from a neighboring city thats almost just as bad called Gardena. Back in the day Tyga was on his grind to be a big rapper he would do anything (ie: claiming he’s Travis McCoy’s cousin) to be seen including be on a whack game show and perpetrate that he was a corny rapper. Did we forget his first big song was Coconut (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AROeEiidM8Q) . And FYI the way Tyga got noticed by Young Money is he won a random talent show contest to where the winner got to meet Lil’ Wayne. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUvnseJiU94) Which would be corny in retrospect but look where it got him. I think this is just an unfortunate event where the producers told him to just be corny and whack and he did it. Because he’s clearly not that bad of a rapper. At the end of the day Tyga is rich and successful and he didn’t get there by being a tough guy. If we were 17 years old and desperate to be in the rap game we would’ve done the same.

1. The kid was probably only like 18-19 yrs old, hence the upbeat personality.
2. The valley isn’t all sweet. There’s definitely gangs there, and I bet he knew a few crazy cholo’s/esse’s growing up.
3. His rap subject matters ain’t all street. Matter of fact, it’s more so nasty/vulgar for the ladies and just real life talk. He’s famous now, so naturally he may have to carry around a gun or two, and a line about it may end up in a rhyme somewhere.
3. The fact that he had the confidence to really freestyle in front of everyone is commendable.
Lastly, he’s hot now. He found his style and grew into the man he is. He made it after a semi-failed single attempt (Lime-Coconut), has a few hit records, and a winning team/boss. Some rappers still struggling to do that.
