  4. B.Dot says:

    ^
    Wouldn’t be suprised

  5. 2 cents says:

Congrats to them, however it baffles me why and how b.dot rides so hard for this couple, had Wayne or drake or Kendrick or even j. Cole released the exact same song, I bet you’d be critiquing on how bad it is . The white couple do it and they get #1 underrated album of the year. Ha smh

  6. Craddyshaq says:

    ^ Haters gonna hate!

  7. trusoldier77 says:

i dont even no what this song sounds like. i should be ashamed.

  15. dmc says:

    wow, This is impressive.

  16. Mike says:

the raps are there but this track is corny

  17. Your Life Is A Lie says:

Independent and killing all your favorite acts slaving on a major label by being their own bosses, nice. Shout out to Lecrae doing it indy as well

  18. Yeezus Christ says:

heard this song on the radio, didnt know who it was by but it sounded good, looked it up and seen it was macklemore and i like wtf

  19. Donn says:

I can see the bias in the support cus Bdot never comments this much on other posts but they do deserve it, they made history but I did research their backing and they do have third party help that is linked to majors, a lot of politics to their success. Congrats to them and its nice to see HipHop back at #1. I think the last #1 rap song on the Hot 100 was Jay or Wiz Khalifa

  20. it's the roc says:

Wow, amazing accomplishment. Helps that they get a lot of spins outside of urban radio, but hey, it is what it is. Is Macklemore creeping closer and closer to Jays spot on the B.Dot totem pole?

  21. Chris says:

Sorry B. Dot, song’s still corny as shit. I still think it’s rap music for people who don’t like rap music, and looking at the demographics of their fanbase, I think I’m right. People who look like B. Dot would stick out like a sore thumb at their shows.

But good for them, their grind is to be commended.

  22. Da VP says:

Um, WHY do people like these guys again??

  23. Liiife says:

This music is not good hip hop. Seattle heads hate this fuckboy

  24. Liiife says:

Old white moms buy this album for their kids

  25. it's the roc says:

    @ Donn

Who has success without politics in the music industry? If you do just a little more research, you’ll find out that nobody does.

  26. Liiife says:

They bump it in the van on the way to soccer practice

  27. Evil says:

Shitty song but congrats to the both of them. Not my kind of rap but America seems to like it so good for them.

  28. mac DIESEL says:

  30. Gillette-shit says:

Wow! That’s awesome! When wus the last time a hip hop record went no. 1 in all three categories, hot 100, r&b/hip hop, rap? I think after 2008 maybe, anyone?
Anyways Macklemore is sure to be nominated for Grammy’s next year! Atleast for best new artist.. Great album, great achievement..

  37. DJ Game says:

Hip-Hop is alive! Now we need some Nas, Kendrick, and real lyrics in the top! Lets do it!

  38. RealHipHopBack says:

This is great for hip hop regardless.

  39. tucq says:

I bought the album just out of curiosity.

The production is high quality, and Mack can rap, but its very very “Pop” and very “Preachy” music. Not really my taste.

I noticed that they don’t have a logo on the cd or a record company name. I think that’s what I like the most about it.

    But congrats, tho.

    Ladies and Gentlemans
This an ode to the b-boy,b-girls,
The people out there who do it for the love
And believe me I’m not dissin’ anybody out there who’s trying to get paid,
I’m trying to get paid too
    But I got one question

    Whatever happened to the heart
That pumped the passion into the art
The entity that gave you the energy to wanna start
Break dancin’,imma battling doing it at the park
Where the mission was expression not only to top charts
I dont know what happened wanting to blow rap
You lose soul and passion for the flows and the tracks
Radio’s lackin’, controlled by Fascists assholes doin’ damage
But we’re gunna take it back
Before beats to a hundred g’s a pop
All you needed was a table top and a beat box
Hip-hop with out the b-boy is like shell toes only havin’ two stripes

    Hip-hop we’re freedom-fighting graffiti-writing party types,
That recite and organize and revitalize our rhymin’ till the group of the money makers systems knows the industry can eventually get served.
Breakers of my verses spinning up a revolutions throughout our words
If you really want it come on get it cause i’ve got it
I’m honestly paying homage to forgotten pioneers of this culture that are giving them props and learn.
If you wanna earn your stripes
You gotta be able to rock this mic and set cyphers alike.
The feeling to put in everything you got in the circle, or never be documented in the Coke commercial.

    Now b-boys, b-girls,
Bring it back to the block.
Lemme see you get ill, for real, pop and lock.
If you record without thought then stop,
Because I’ll serve ya whole album with the goddamn beatbox.
    Without thought it just happens.
If you gotta think to feel that’s not rapping that’s acting.
I’m from a land of backpacks and fat-caps,
MC’s with sick raps who serve those that are wack.
It’s a way of life; I put all my energy into the melody on the MP3’s until the death of me,
    Record exceptionally, especially,
Whenever I be monumentally, grammatically, killing the mic.

I tell my DJ’s, cranking that music, keeping ’em moving when the beat plays,
Staying into it, breaking and grooving, and MC’s they,
Thinking that you should always pursue in what their dreams make,
    Taking from lucid.
All the people gotta make their money, and the way to make money is to get inside of the industry, take it on the radio, flow, so you can go blow, we get a car and a crib up on MTV, but,
    In the end what’s classic?
Radio bubblegum? or a voice filled with passion?
To my real hip-hop heads, please stand up,
Cause the only people that can preserve this art is us.

  41. zezzoi says:

Ryan Lewis is a beast behind the boards. I’m curious if he’s gunna work with other artists

  42. mitch says:

Bubba sparks 2013. but seriously congrates to them but the song okay, only thing i like is that lewis sounds like nate dogg ‘a little’,

  43. Dashing says:

^They’re literally nothing like Bubba Sparxx except for the fact that they’re white….nothing alike at all.

  44. TRUTH says:

shits a lil corny but hey..

  45. Devante says:

“Rap music for people who don’t like rap music”
Lol best statement I heard in a while. Not to play the race card but white rappers never box them selves in. They always have elements of Pop, Rock an rap in their music…

  46. Your Life Is A Lie says:

This is ya’ll nigga coon-fest replacement as they begin to phase ya’ll out of the mainstream game once and for all. If you’re not on some homo/weirdo trip (Nicki Minaj to Odd Future and everything in between) you’re done

  47. koO says:

meh hipster pop. gratz on success tho

  48. koO says:

  50. M.T says:

Actually gave the album a full listen and it was really good! this was a good song too. congrats to these guys.

  51. Roman_forten says:

    Honestly tho.

All y’all fagets talking that white/black shit need to suck a dick

A black man puts out a number one single and y’all swear he is little Michael growing up into thriller all over again.

Face it. Honkey music gets the people going

  52. Play player says:

Cosign 2 Cents… If it was Drake or Wayne you will be all up in that ass hating and saying “sells dont ean nothin” blah blah. But you out here congratulating white boys eating off our plate, JT and these boys running the charts now… well such is life my niggas.

  53. Judge Dredd says:

Congratulations….however they are still wack. Not good hip hop…ha

  54. Bianca says:

Agree @ life is a lie black artist get no where near the exposure of white artist ive never heard this fuckin song..i mean shit for it to be number 1 just like mac miller being on billboard magazine. 10yrs ago 50cent was the biggest thing in rap and 20 yr ago it was snoop, bone thugs, pac, dr dre and nas. Its sad that these hipsters and drake are the big deals today and 10yrs from now there will be no blacks mentioned….remeber country and rock roll jazz and the blues…yea we once were the faces of those genres too

  55. NYC says:

I’m Black (If that matters) and the racism and prejudice is disguting. Everything isn’t for everyone, but stop using the race card to make your point.

  56. russell says:

its a fun, corny record, beats cool though

  57. Johnny Ryall says:

    @NYC co-sign

Comin up it never mattered what color you was. If you could spit then you could spit that’s it that’s what it was.

  58. DJ Rad'em says:

The whole album is dope. It’s a true album, not a group of tracks. This, and Nas’ Life is Good are the best I’ve heard in a long time.
As for the people who can’t get over skin color, Grow the fuck up!

  59. DJ Semtex's Prothsetic says:

inb4 b.dot claims any credit on celebrating these guys- o w8

  60. DJ Semtex's Prothsetic says:

this is kind of a sily song tho i dont think it deserves a number 1

  61. Wall says:

These guys never claimed to be anything.
    These guys didn’t get promoted.
These guys succeded through their music, alone. No label.
    .
    Can’t hate on that.

  62. TheCool says:

The hate in these comments is crazy smh. Fuck outta here “whites are taking over Hip Hop”.

This song wasn’t a hit cuz he’s white, it’s cuz it’s a catchy, positive song.

If whites are taking over, where is Machine Gun Kelly? His trash ass did 50k first week, even less then Tyler, The Creator, WITH a major label backing him. And Mac Miller? Dude’s already becoming irrelevant.

Kendrick did 250k, Cole 280k, ASAP 150k. Kanye, Jay, and Drake are all doing over 500k. Macklemore is the only white MC making big noise, and it’s cuz he makes good music. Whites ain’t taking over shit, if anything, Macklemore is a good thing for Hip Hop. Wether or not you think the album sounded corny, the production was well crafted, and Macklemore’s flow is dope.

And btw, I haven’t even heard the album. I’ve only heard about 5 songs, and I wasn’t into ’em much, except for Wings. This is just the truth.
