Yeah, missing Ab-Soul and Schoolboy is a serious oversight. Hit-Boy is a great producer but not 1 of his songs have resonated with folks. And his mixtape has great production, but again, he’s lacking as an MC. He can’t be put on there solely off the strength of his beats.
And if Gunplay was on Ross’ 1st album in 06 (the one with Hustlin’) then how is he a freshman? By that logic, he could have graduated damn near twice already…

They would have the worst freshman freestyles in the history of this shit. With Gunplay yelling, and Trinidad James speaking incoherently, it should be interesting at least.
I could see everyone you named making the cover, but with these freshman covers, only maybe 4 or 5 of ‘em actually do something substantial. Of this list, I can only see Joey Badass seperating himself from the pack.
Ferg is God awful. His verse on Ghetto Symphony? Worst thing I ever heard. Bronson is white so im sure he’ll find some success at some point, and he actually isnt that bad. I liked his Elimination Chamber and 1train verses. Hitboy is nothing special lyrically. He’ll have a hit at some point, but I dont expect much from him. Gunplay been out for awhile now, he’s picking up steam and he has Ross backing him so im sure he’ll have a bit of success. Casey Veggies, dont know dude might check him out. Rockie Fresh seems interesting too. If you’re name isnt Nicki Minaj, your not gonna be successful as a femcee unless you sell out like she did so I dont expect much from Angel Hayes besides good mixtapes. Chief Keefs homie is just as wild as Keef is, plus he beats up females, so I expect a lot of arrests and bullshit from him. Trinidad James is just gonna fill radio spots and put out one flop album then disappear. He screams of one hit wonder.
So out of all these guys, Badass is the only one I can see putting out albums down the road and actually having a good run. The rest of these guys will fill the mixtape circuit with gems and have a couple hits on the radio, but ultimately will flop and disappear (except maybe Bronson, cuz hes white).
This will go down as the worst freshman list of all time.
Also, no Q or Ab-Soul must be a misprint. I actually thing one of those guys will make the list. Also…….no Stalley? Or was he on already? We naming a new MMG recruit while Stalley still wallows on the bench. He was there before Meek but doesn’t have an album out yet. What gives?

Just looking at some of the picks and listening to the music, Hip Hop is becoming more diverse in sound. From Action Bronson to Lil Reese to Trinidad James that’s a pretty wide range. Salute. And to everyone saying Schoolboy Q and AbSoul come on those guys have outgrown the list at this point in their careers.
