Emmett Till Estate On Lil Wayne Lyric
No country for rappers using Emmett Till as a punch line. cc: Lil Wayne, Remy Ma.

Some things are just down right disrespectful. Over the weekend, Future released the remix to “Karate Chop” featuring Lil Wayne. Weezy insolently rhymed, “Beat that pussy up like Emmett Till.”
In 1955, Emmett Till was tortured and murdered for allegedly whistling at a White woman. He was 14 years old. His death was a catalyst in the Civil Rights movement following his open casket funeral.
From Kanye West to Remy Ma, Till’s name has been used as punchline to describe the severity of an injury or situation. Reps for the Till Estate recently spoke on the lyric and needless to say, were appalled by the line.
UPDATE: Jesse works fast.
As soon as I found out bout Lil Wayne and his Emmett Till comment I spoke with LA Reid CEO of Epic Records and we had the comment removed.
