Everything Kanye said was true. Sure sway’s first tv wasn’t really neccesary but other than that, every point he made was valid and true.

Kanye at a minimum should be higher than Big Sean on the list. Almost every big record that he’s put out has been cause Kanye shined a light on him. “Clique” “Marvin Gaye and Chardonnay” “Mercy”
And while 2 Chainz was popping on his own pre-Kanye, “Mercy” is undeniably the record that got him the biggest exposure and allowed other records to get a look.
Yea of course MTV fucks the list up every year.. But Kanye has to tune out the criticism. Kanye has prolly has two rooms fill with Plaques and Grammys why should you let a few nut jobs at MTV get you angry?

I can’t see how Kanye could be put on a list and be placed 7th at anything. He’s way to talented. Being an emcee means way more than just putting words together. In a sense it does, but Kanye is just that much colder because he’s saying Factual shit. Kinda like MY favorite emcee says “YOUR shit is fictional MINE is FACTUAL”….his rhymes aren’t about made up shit. It’s easy to make a fly rhyme about what you WANT to do vs. something that you’re actually doing. THAT is ONE of the things that makes Jay-Z, Kanye, Eminem, and Wayne top of the list. Think about the trendsetters etc. I put Eminem at the bottom of that list, because to be HIP HOP you have to speak to the culture OF Hip Hop. When Em started spitting that “I wanna kill my Mama and Wife” type shit, Hip Hop ain’t follow that shit. But they constantly try to follow the trends that Ye, Jay, and Wayne set.

I don’t agree with that statement about Lil Wayne being the number one rapper, he might still be able to sell records just because of his superstar status but as far as the actual music, he’s lost it…As far as Kanye, I think he’s arrogance sort of clouded his judgment as far as saying the diamond’s verse was the best one this past year (although it is very good) and the Kris Humphry line was the best. But Cruel Summer did have a lot of bangers. Honestly I could’ve seen Kanye being anywhere from 5-7 so I don’t disagree too much with where he was placed. #TheTruth

If yall haven’t noticed by now, the MTV list is their attempt to show us that they’re relevant and on the cutting edge of hip hop.
Most real heads don’t even begin to take the list seriously. Where most good blogs, mags and sites actually have an opinion (rap radar included) for better or for worse. MTV tries it’s best to reflect what they think the audience is proving they wanna see. Big difference between being a part of taste making (exposing worthy talent) and poll taking (reflecting what the radio numbers are showing).
How Ye or anyone else could get upset over this list is beyond me. If they don’t put the “hot new things) on every list, MTV wouldn’t be a friend to the teeny bopper as they so obviously wanna be.

Lil’ Wayne is NOT the best rapper…never was. By the way…..Kanye said the same thing about Nikki Minaj…Then Eminem…and before them all Jay-Z….oh, he even said Nas was the best once. Dude is emotional and says whatever he thinks will be a trending topic. Hell, Ye’d doesn’t even produce the majority of the songs he rhymes over anymore. He sure as hell isn’t writing the verses.
