Add another one to the list of MCs unhappy with MTV’s results. This afternoon, Pusha called up DJ Semtex. After revealing some of the producers that will be featured on his upcoming album, My Name Is My Name, he expressed his disappointment about being omitted from the Hottest MC list. Hell hath no fury like a rapper scorned.

Pusha went against YMCMB alone, and every verse/song was a murder scene and y’all gonna have Nasir in there instead. MTV said it was Hottest not Best, thats y they hav Future on the list. Nas dropped a near classic album but this dude was not HOT. Pusha T should have been on that list instead of Nas

Buddy, Nas was HOT? really? Daughters was on the radio for like 2 weeks. Dont get it twisted, Nas should have been on ther longer, album was a near Classic. I personally just don’t understand why people — rappers and the general public alike — get all up in arms about a list on “hot MCs” that MTV created; MTV, that has gone at great enough length to remove itself from the music industry that it removed the word “music” from its official logo a couple years back. MTV putting out a list of top hip hop artists, at this point, is like McDonald’s putting out an annual list of the top five-star restaurants.
You need to get out of your little box “buddy”. You can stand by your opinion, but unfortunately it doesn’t matter. Nas was “Hot” to the people who’s opinions matter, which in this case, was MTV.

I love Pusha T as one of the top lyricist in Hip-Hop, but he shouldn’t be on the hottest MC list. Understand people, this is hottest MC’s not most lyrical MC. Hottest MC’s is composed of lyricism and other components of being a rap MC. UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE PEOPLE. MTV’s list is pretty accurate if you understand how it is judged.

Pusha probably didn’t get props because he didn’t have an album out and he doesn’t have crazy media and press backing him, someone said watch pusha sell 50k and wayne go platinum, yeah but I like restaurants better than McDonald’s but McDonald’s advertises every 2 seconds so of course they’re gonna sell more than 15 times better than a great restaurant that doesn’t advertise as much. Pusha didn’t say he was gonna make a Kendrick Lamar album, he means he’s gonna make an album that flows as one album like Kendrick’s does, not an album with 15 songs that stand on their own, he wants to make an album like albums used to be made. A lot of people on here need to listen first before they judge instead of just judging…..
