  1. mighty morphin vs VR troopers says:

    Does anyone have to watch this to see what YN is gonna say? It’s funny how he even uses letters as the basis for his name like Jay-Z (YN) get the connection?

  2. new guy says:

    K.Dot got jay on this. the truth is hov isnt dumb, he was/is fully aware of kendrick’s lyrical ability and vice versa, with that said jay put himself out there and kendrick got the best of em. i do agree that overall the track itself is dope but its still rap and that mentality never changes..

  3. Space Ghost says:

    @ New Guy. How did Kendrick get the best of him when Jay sent his verse first?????? You aer SUPPOSED to have a better verse if you get to hear the other guys flow first. Jay sent his verse and the Kendrick decided to re-write two new verses to compete with HOV. “You studied my rhyme and then you laced your vocals after mine/That’s a bitch move” -Can-I-bus. Get a clue. You don’t to win if you didn’t record at the same time.

  4. Beaming says:

    Why is it always who got who? Why can’t u just appreciate it for what it is. Niggas always want more than what’s given FOR FREE. Respect it for what it is. Two verses always gonna sound better than one for the most part. Both these guys killed the track.

  5. 2 cents says:

    ^^ @Space Ghost You mad b? Didn’t Jay-Z know it was a Kendrick song he was recording to? He could’ve went way harder lyrically judging by his previous work.

    Hiphop is an art not a sport. It’s poetry, certain poems are deep and hard to understand, others are very plain and easy to comprehend reason why I don’t like comparing rappers. But if we’re comparing just “lyricism” as a component of hiphop, then Kendrick went way harder than Hov and that’s not to say Hov’s verse was weak because it was nice just not as dope as Kendrick’s. I mean it’s cool he stood next to the Mrs Clinton while baked but…

  6. LORD YOUNG says:

    who ever said k.dot didnt kill jayz, NEEDS TO CLOSE YOUR WEB BROWSER, & HANG YOURSELF

    JAY Z GOT KILL BY EMINEM

    JAY Z GOT KILL BY NAS

    JAY Z RAN FROM BIG PUN

    SHIT JAY Z COULDNT MAKE A BETTER DISS SONG THEN KILLA CAM

    THE CAMAL TOOK SOME LOSE IN HIS LIFETIME

    YEAH BEING RICH MAKES HIM LOOK LIKE A WINNER

    BUT BOY THOSE LOSSES WILL FOREVER FOLLOW YOU

    IM JUST SAYING

  7. Rozay says:

    Win Win for both artists, Kendrick getting Jay-Z on his remix’ Jay-Z riding the wave of Kendrick, Jay did the same to Ross, Jeezy, had a up and coming Drake on the blueprint 3, let’s be clear Drake and Kendrick are the new leaders in hip-hop, aside from the living legends Em,Jay, Nas, Kanye, Drake and Kendrick, are basically Lebron and Durantula.

  8. rongreezy says:

    Reblogged this on The Music Nerdvocate and commented:
    We all know there’s been a WHOLE lotta talk about the newest Kendrick/Jay-Z remix: who murdered who, who got the best of who, who’s song it really was. According to Mr. Wilson, it’s just a GREAT EFFING SONG! And I’ll ride with him on this one. It’s just an awesome thing to see two artists giving their best to a track that truly deserves it. Both emcees come through and smash and it kinda reminds me of the uproar caused by the song “4,3,2,1″ back in the late 90s that eventually caused a beef between LL and Canibus. but in this case both careers will probably stay in tact. Thank God.

  9. epinz says:

    @space ghost

    Eminem recorded his verses for renegade before jay did….so what was jays excuse then???

  10. Jungle says:

    agree with @Lord Young

    Jay has to live with the Ether L for the rest of his life. What a bummer. Btw did anyone see Jay slap a female fan on YouTube?! check that ish out!

  11. epinz says:

    @space ghost

    While you bullshittin, the original version of the song had royce 5’9 on it. And even he ripped the song harder than j….

  12. JustMyOpinion says:

    PEOPLE-PEOPLE-PEOPLE

    Stop with the who killed who, this song was assembled by two great MCs. Both showcased their talent, in their own respective way. Stop it. Enjoy the music, stop with the distractions. Everyone’s a rapper nowadays and not enough fans.

  13. LORD YOUNG says:

    JAY Z VERSE ON RENEGADE WAS COOL

    BUT JESUS CHRIST EMINEM RAN CICRLE AROUND HIM

  14. Johnny Ryall says:

    Thank you! No one murdered anyone they collabed and we all won, and hopefully they ain’t done. They both ripped it. Hip-hop is competitive by nature but what other genre comes together and collabs like hip-hop? This arguement usually boils down to Stan Vs. Stan. Well I’m hip-hop cultures biggest Stan and this was one of those moments so please bitches don’t kill my vibe.

  15. FNF 365 says:

    So if Kendrick Lamar is now “Kobe” what does that make J.Cole?

  16. Rozay says:

    Live with ether or count my money and not owe uncle Sam a grip, worry about the opinions of niggas on the internet and bust nuts in Beyonce at will, If that’s losing then count me in.

  17. It's the roc says:

    @FNF 365

    Vince Carter

  18. MMG says:

    @FNF

    J.cole = steve nash

  19. 50cent ‏@50cent Your a punk @ElliottWilson and you will always be a punk. says:

    ELLIOT WILSON = POPEYE JONES OF HIP HOP COMMENTARY

  20. buckwilder says:

    @FNF

    If Kendrick is “Kobe”
    J.cole = Josh Smith
    Jay-Z = MJ
    Memphis Bleek = Steve Kerr
    YN = Greg Gumbel

  21. buckwilder says:

    And that’s “The Truth”

    (in reference to my comment above)

    SHOUT OUT TO THE BIG W

  22. BBGUN says:

    These comments are hilarious. I still like the original over the remix. You know for a fact Elliott would never say jay took a L on a track.

  23. Kiing says:

    Kendrick murked him, this verse will be remembered

  24. TrillmaticEnt Olachia says:

    K.L + HOV = $$$$$$ PERIOD

  25. Hannibal Lecture says:

    J Cole = Kwame Brown

  26. buckwilder says:

    Nas = Magic Johnson
    Kanye = Lebron
    Wayne = Paul Pierce
    Drake = Durant

  27. Mo says:

    I thought Hov’s verse was dope. But Kendrick 2nd verse took the song to another level. Since he heard Jay’s verse he knew that he wouldn’t let Jay outshine him on his own song. But I think I’ve never heard Kendrick really get outshined on a song b4

  28. Mo says:

    J. Cole = Dwayne Wade

  29. Rozay says:

    Jay-Z= Jordan
    Nas= Joe Dumars
    Eminem= Larry Bird
    kanye =Kevin Garnett
    Drake= Lebron
    Kendrick= Kobe
    J.Cole= JaVale McGee cause he look like the nigga

  30. ... says:

    Jayzs raps are predictable and superficial..get off his dick the song is dope but this whole who has a better verse or who killed it better is stupid..no one spits hotter the drizzy..nighas are tryna catch up

  31. Space Ghost says:

    @ 2 Cents Y are YOU mad?? HOw can an individual compete with verses that he hasn’t even heard yet? Get real. You all want Jay to lose so bad because he has been winning for so long. It’s pathetic. Saying bullshit like “HOV knew Kendrick’s talent, he should’ve come EVEN harder. Get real. HOV killed that shit and then K. Dot did what he was supposed to do since he heard HOV’s verse first. Rip it as well.

    @ Young Lord, close YOUR web browser youngin’ cause HOV ripped Nas on Black Republican AND “Success” off American Gangster. Murdered Mobb Deep on “Takeover” ended Cam’ron and Jimmy on “Dig A Hole” and let’s be clear Ether was an emotional song while Takeover was factual and damaging at the same time. You can have your opinion based on who you prefer but don’t get it twisted, YOUR need for HOV to take a loss is evident but it didn’t happen on this song buddy so get over it.

  32. Fuck Your Opinion says:

    These ‘truth’ episodes are getting out of control, you might as well start a rap career since you crave the attention so bad.. Shame on you Elliott.

  33. stuart scotts eye says:

    Kendrick hasnt been around enough or atleast dropped more than one album to be considered “kobe”…k dot could possibly be considered “lebron” if you even wanna make those kinda comparisons…and j cole could be Kevin Durant…but either way those comparisons are nonsense….

  34. smh says:

    who cares who had the better verse, the song was a breath of fresh air and was dope as fuck…stop comparing them and just enjoy the damn song

  35. LORD YOUNG says:

    @space ghost

    seriously?

    NAS DISS JAY Z ON HIS OWN TRACK “SUCCESS”

    “Worst enemies want to be my best friendsBest friends want to be enemies, like that’s what’s inBut I don’t give a fuck, walk inside the lion’s denTake everybody’s chips, about to cash them in”

    ON BLACK REPUBLICAN…ARE YOU SERIOUS?

    DIG HOLE IS BETTER THEN CAM TWO DISS SONG?

    STOP BEING A STAN &.DO YOUR RESEARCH

    ” now its…hurtin ya heart to see Dame fuckin wit meworse than that, the whole game fuckin wit mea little beef, a few lames fuckin wit me” CAMRON

    IM JUST SAYING STUPID @SPACEGHOST

  36. Kick says:

    Damn this dude sounds Slow and retarded! I don’t get it

  37. Dashing says:

    This is the firsr “The Truth” where I agree with YN. This “who murdered who” definitely hurts hip hop WAAAAY more than it helps. People may have talked about it to themselves back in the day but Nas put it out there on “Ether” and since then it’s all people talk about on collabs. That’s why you never see cypher tracks like…

    “It’s All About the Benjamins”
    “Reservoir Dogs
    “What We Do”
    “4,3,2,1″
    “24 Hours to Live”

    With the exception of “1 Train” and most recently “Cypher” folks don’t collabo for fear of “getting murdered” but so what if the music is good.

    Unfortunately between rap blogs and comments, Twitter, and Youtube comments that era of just appreciating a record and each verse might be over.

    I’m still optimistic thought…

    Still waiting for a Just Blaze produced cypher track with

    Pharoahe Monch, Eminem, Royce Da 5’9, Busta Rhymes and Tech N9NE

  38. IM730 says:

    man really? all this shit is over hyping a song man. What kendrick thought about the song? where kendrick was when he heard the remix? What kind of juice was kendrick drinking when flex played it for the first time in ny at 8 oclock??? let the music live man dammmnn

    the remix is dope and sure kendricks 3rd was extra dope but have this discussion when he 20 years in the game…

  39. stanff says:

    Kendrick the new king of hip hop is too GOOOOOD

  40. @YankeeLuvnGiant says:

    hov been winning so long that cats are thirsty 4 him 2 lose smh dope song

  41. 2cents says:

  42. Johnson says:

  47. Beaming says:

    Lmao at these wanna be hip hop fans. If jay z ain’t the goat then you’ll never understand. Quit while your ahead and kill ya self.

  48. THE MAJESTIC NIGLET says:

    all thats missing from that remix now isnt andre3K

  49. mrny says:

    Its spelled Losses not Loses…smh

  50. BBGUN says:

    I love k dot but you can’t compare a guy with one major release to Kobe who has five rings and is considered top 5 to ever do it. Kendrick might be there one day but not yet. Damn.
