For the first time in almost a year, Peter Rosenberg and Nicki ironed out their differences this morning on Hot 97. They discussed last year’s Summer Jam debacle, catalogue, and overall criticism. Part two after the jump.

Rosenberg was sucking up so much that was sad to watch. Obviously his bosses (Ebro) told him he needs to do everything he can to repair Hot 97’s relationship with Nicki regardless of how he really feels or what is really the truth.
Nicki is a pretty horrible person to listen to speak. Unbelievably self absorbed, really thinks her opinions and thoughts are more valuable than everyone else’s.
Rosenberg loves bringing up the fact that he was a women’s studies minor when defending himself against charges of sexism rather than defending his comments/argument on merit.

Nicki also said she’s getting back into her element and her next LP will be actual rap .. Does anyone else feel like its too late for that ? She abandoned underground rap . . so her re-entry isn’t going to be an easy one . Us Hip-Hop fans recognize when we’ve been abandoned . Even Ludacris is struggling to get our trust back ! It’s only now after Kendrick’s album popped that people wanna abandon that pop shit . . Black Hippy are changing the game in a good way .
I didn’t like how Rosenberg kissed her azz throughout the interview , because he was right , no one (who loves HIP-HOP) wants to hear starships & dude is wack for apologizing the way he did , but i respect him for stating his opinions. & Rosenberg compared Lauryn Hill to Nicki Minaj ……….. BOLD STATEMENT .
TL;TR , I found this interview very hard to watch . Too many bold statements being made .
This was over a year ago so Rosenberg has had time to think about the way he handled the situation and besides he realizes that Nikki has made him more popular, you can’t put his name in google without her name coming up too, when there is no one out there challenging your title then you are gonna be a little cocky, but Nikki has to get back to making the type of music that the that people initially liked about her in the first place, the Barbz didn’t make her they just opened up a bigger audience. Ebro on the other hand is a hypocrite.
@ Truth Be Told I think she means female MC’s when talking about the having the balls to do characters not the men, Rosenberg meant comparing in terms of sales and impact with Lauryn.

Not really defending Nikki and not really into her music but these things are undeniable 7 figure Pepsi endorsement deal with Pepsi, K-Mart line, 7 figure American Idol deal, Elle, Cosmopolitan, Allure magazines, The most Eve got was a sitcom on UPN, and Lil Kim had the potential to be where Nikki is but she messed it up by destroying her face, So Nikki has had the most overall impact since Lauryn unfortunately, I just wish some other females stepped up to challenge her.
Nicki Minaj needs to stop rapping and start doing pornos instead, nobody takes her serious as a MC.oh and Fuck HOT 97 too, bunch of tools supporting commercial hip hop.

You are applying what I said to a different argument. I wasn’t talking about her opinion on herself and her “craft”, I was talking in general. Herself and her “craft” were not the only specific topics of conversation in this interview and I wasn’t even talking specifically about this interview but about everything else I’ve seen her in.
She’s had a handful of verses that were actually dope, everything else she does is a fucking gimmick. She may be talented but she sure isn’t showing it 99% of the time.
In the year 2050 will you remember any Nicki songs or just the fact that she existed and had a huge ass?
I think Nicki knows that her career is about to plateau and she’ll probably be struggling to sell 500k from here on out. It’s gonna be hard for her to humble herself though, she seems to actually believe in her exceptionality.

I think after all of this exposure , I think her sales on her next album will be VERY interesting . especially as she claims to be abandoning the pop approach .
I personally think the album will be a flop, something I don’t like saying about artists because no matter who they are they all put in work .
& about other female rappers stepping up to her … I think we will see a female rapper come forth sometime this year or next. It seems like labels are starting , or at least trying to embrace real lyricism again . I keep saying it , but that Kendrick album proved a lot to people and swerved a lot of opinions

i hate that in hiphop if u clearly explain your stance, its called being scared or kissing ass or copping a plea. rosenberg didnt say anything different from original script when talking about his statements on starships.
nicki does come off very self absorbed, speaking down to rosenberg and i felt she wasnt being genuine with any of her statements, its all very politically correct and proper and even tho i dont know her it felt off to me.
i think she realized that her career has reached its peak, i dont know if it will drop, it might remain steady but i dont think she can go upwards anymore so she needed to mend that bridge to keep the dollars coming in. this interview didnt do her any favors tho
