    Only a few more days left. Can’t wait.

  2. Tev Milli says:

    Yea this is gonna be my summer album 4 sure…..
    Thats all I have 2 say

  3. Chris says:

    Interesting both of Hov’s examples for Heaven and Hell on Earth involved his daughter. I have to imagine having a child has really shaped and formed his lyrics and overall message(s), this is, after all, the first project to drop since.

  4. Space Ghost says:

    This is going to be THE ALBUM to own, rock to, and dissect.

  5. 7thEmerson says:

    @Space Ghost @Chris

    Cosign both of yall to the fullest on those sentiments.

  6. Chris says:

    Let’s be real though, are we really expecting this thing to be able to stand up to the best of his catalog? Or are we just happy with any Jay-Z at this pont that 65% or 70% Hov is enough for us?

  7. Capricorn Religion says:

    Damn…..

    I love that explanation of Heaven and Hell. Especially the last part about how we are going to burn in hell for having Free Will, in which YOU gave us

    BUT…

    I’m not about to get into that Religion talk. As I get older, I just leave like “Well, I guess we will see who is right in the end. Good luck”

    Anyway…

    Can’t wait t hear the album. Tho, what is up with a single? I mean, yeah I get it. Your Jay-Z but, damn. Even Kanye released “New Slaves” to get the hype train pumping faster.

    Where is that single at? July 4th is next week

  8. 7thEmerson says:

    @Chris

    I dont expect it to stand out to the BEST of his catalog, but I expect and hope that this is one of those albums that standout in a beautiful way. I cant call it 65%/70% Hov because that wouldnt be fair. Its like saying in order for him to give us excellence, he has to suffer. Dude has worked hard enough to get out of the ghetto he was in, so I dont expect him to rap about hood shit all the time, you feel me? Lets take this as a different direction from him as long as its hot. He was mentally in two different places between Reasonable Doubt and Blueprint 1, yet they’re still classics. Lets give it a chance.

    @Cap Religion

    I dont think there will be a single to be honest. It’ll probably come out on the 4th with the Album release on the app. Either way when the app drops it, people will find a way to put it out there for everybody.

  9. Midsize Jerm says:

    Rick Ross on rap feature on the album.

    I’d rather have no features wat da fuck is this? And same thing w. King Louie on Yeezus. What, thy don’t like to put their people on? Would it hurt Jay’s pockets to throw Cole a verse, of Kanye Pusha T?

  10. Phil says:

    Nice, HOV. Real real nice.

    Gonna cop this.

  11. T says:

    This may sound a bit selfish of me but the fact that Jay has a daughter this time around will definitely benefit us, as the costumer. Fathers, parents in general really, and even daughters & sons now have a new way to relate to Jay, because of course Blue will be a topic on the album. So I’m excited.

  12. Clos1881 says:

    So instead of him releasing song he gonna do a bunch of this shit get you excited lyrically than when you hear the verse with production be disappointed hell of a marketing plan. Basically I’m jay I’m known for having that blue magic in the past buy your dope from me you don’t need to test it.

  13. Hannibal Lecture says:

    Hov always sets the tone.

  14. B says:

    Exact same concept of Born Sinner…

  15. Megamind says:

    @Capricorn – i TOTALLY agree…my rebuttal to people when I speak about religion or my belief (JC all day! LOL)….I just say “My faith works for me”….Live and Let Live.

    peace

  16. bigHUNT says:

    im wit the people who said Hov should drop a single, just for his fans sake, you know? we need some Hov on the radio, tired of hearing all these other bs songs, even though some singles out there are cool

  17. 7thEmerson says:

    @bigHUNT

    But in 6 days, you’ll hear ALL the songs on the album. Sounds like a fair trade off. Just about a week or so ago, no one even knew he had an album coming.

  18. Dashing says:

    @Midsize Jerm, I couldn’t disagree with you more. Putting Pusha T on his album???? To promote him. That’s bullshit. Ye should with who makes the most sense for the vibe that he’s going for. I don’t like the Keef record, but I get why he got him for it and he fits for what he was going for.

    The shit that sucks about hip hop today is the formulas. “Pusha’s on my label so he HAS to be on album to promote him.” “Cole has to be on Jay’s album.” That’s wack. Cole just sold 300,000 the 1st week. It’s a better look at this stage of the game to not look like he needs Jay. And anyway, Pusha was on 2 songs on the last Ye album and all over that GOOD music album, plus he got Numbers on the Boards, which Ye produced and that new one with 2 Chainz and Big Sean……

    I don’t want a Hov single. I want him to make a dope album. BP# had big singles and it’s among his worst albums…

  19. asmodeus ashmadi says:

    It sounds like the album is worth taking a listen to when it drops if its a good album ill burn a copy for the whip.

  20. The Brain Trust says:

    Wow. Very intrigued by this song’s concept.

    It seems like he’s expanding on something he explored on the fantastic 9/11 freestyle:

    @ B, it isn’t even remotely similar to anything on Born Sinner. For an album called ‘Born Sinner’, Cole’s project was replete with talk concerning his meaningless sexual encounters, and lacked profound references to religion, philosophy, metaphorical heavens and hells, or the problem of evil (as Jay seems to be doing here).

  21. B says:

    @The Brain Trust if you would open your ears and listen Cole said before it came out that the album that was not about religion but “the journey in hell trying to get to heaven in a persons life” which is exactly what Jay-Z just said.

  22. STINKMEANER says:

    i’m hopin that jay steps away from that luxury rap. i don’t really wanna hear about french and italian purse designers in these raps.

  23. Midsize Jerm says:

    I’m just sayin’ Ross the last dude I was hear on this album which is supposed to be so…credible. That shit whack.

  24. 456 headCrAcK says:

    the KING has returned

  25. Black Shady says:

    This nigga heard Born Sinner…was like “wtf Cole how come I didnt think of it first? you know what imma do the same shit and people gonna call me a genius anyway”

    Rosenberg was right with his The Realness. Yall going overboard with that Jay dickriding

    AND YES im looking for that album too, but calm down. all he did was saying heaven can be laughter and hell can be ur child missing for 3mins. LOL

  26. bumpy johnson says:

    hovi your my homie but come on , u are only talkin half that’s been told , yes he gave us free will , but to what . ? he gave us a choice that who so ever believe in him shall have everlasting life . the other choice , or if u take the other route . is exactly what u said before the advert ended …… HOV u know exactly whats goin on .

  27. Tbones says:

    @Black Shady, Cosignee totally, if u dint knw, u would think Jay just explained some groundbreaking ishh in that video about heaven and Hell with the way these dickriders that vicariously live through Jay be hyping it up. SMH.

  28. rebeltko says:

    In the past Jayz has made songs like D’evils, If I Should Die, Lucifer, Beach Chair, Pray, No Church For Wild and now he makes a song called Heaven and you think he biting J Cole? FOH. First of all Cole said out his own mouth that Born Sinner was’nt even about religion, just a way to metaphorically talk about other things. That was a lie too, his album was mostly about very surface things that are very easy to understand and most of the album was about his encounters with women, his spending habits and his fame and his haters… Jay has a more in depth approach (The Black Album for example) and Jay was already saying rhymes that had to do with religion and belief and faith way before he even met Cole and there we’re thousands of other rappers who talked about religion in their rhymes way before Cole so cut the bullshit.

  29. rebeltko says:

    M.C.H.G will be way better then Born Sinner and some of you haters calling other people dickriders but in the same comment talking about you Jayz fans and you looking forward to the album so apparently you must think the nigga is dope too so STFU

  30. rebeltko says:

    The first comment Rosenberg made today when talking about dickriders was “I think Jayz is probably the greatest to ever do it”

  31. dll32 says:

    @rebeltko

    /cosign
    the jcole comparison is dumb anyway..

  32. Nickey Black says:

    @rebeltko’….superbly said.

    Many great artist from the GOLDEN ERA OF HIP HOP have touch these subjects in their own way. From Rakim, KRS ONE, BIGGIE, TUPAC, NAS, …..etc

    Should be thankful that a man like Jay with so much wisdom from life is here to continue with thought provoking shit.

    “….everything I seen, made me everything I am.”~JayZ

  33. Mental says:

    Jay and Ye.. Do things for a reason…. Stop talking about the radio!!!. They are trying to kill that filter and give it straight to the ppl! They have the money to bypass the other marketing tactics… The ppl are the decision makers! Let’s just Watch the Throne work…

  34. Fuck Your Opinion says:

    I’ve never been this excited for a Jay album. He needs to put out a full documentary for this, on some Fade To Black 2.0 shit. I think this will be a classic Hov album, the hype is real.

  35. rongreezy says:

    Reblogged this on The Music Nerdvocate and commented:
    It’s not as noticeable as one might think, but Jay-Z has been giving his views on heaven in his music for years now, or at least touching on different religious themes and ideals. Hell, one of the things he’s best known for his a nickname: Hova. As well as the fact that he has also referred to himself as a “God MC” in the past. Here, as anticipation grows for his latest album, Magna Carta Holy Grail, he talks again about the idea of Heaven, and the song on the album of the same title.

  36. StarFox64 says:

    i really, really, reallllly agree with a-trak right now..

  37. Nathaniel says:

    lol rebeltko said that shit. jay been talking religion since day one. human nature. wat drives people to exercise their free will righteously or to do evil… since day one. the whole RD is more or less the psychological state of a drug dealers mind.

    and @dashing… hold my liquor is my shit b!!! lol

  38. francwaa1981 says:

    My boy Jay has done it again. I just want to know who will ever do it like he did?

    Change the way your woman looks at you google ” Do Black Ant Pills Work “

  39. affiliates says:

    @bumpy johnson, your missing the whole point of Jay z dont you think even the most dedicated Christian has at some point or another been in some situations in their lives ( while being saved) and questioned Gods intentions? even if its just thoughts? he is a rapper/artist, and artists express aloud what most people only think in their minds. Jay is a philosopher, which means he’s a thinker.

  40. kmt4life says:

    Dis lame ass n^^ga always working for the man. He so lost wit his white jesus piece and this child-molesting, charles manson looking(rubin) devil. This old ass cracker can’t understand hip-hop. So, now I guess every n^^ga gotta get a white boy to act like he doin beats, when he really jus sittin his fat ass on th couch noddin.

  41. gpatrick15 says:

    @kmt4life you do realize that without that white boy none of your favorite artists would be here today. RIck Rubin has forgotten more about hip hop than most of your favorite current rappers will ever know.

  42. @ kmt4life says:

    You’re talking about the co-founder of Def Jam, dumbass.

  43. MR. UNDI$PUTED THE MOGUL says:

    MOGUL $$$ GAME ’13!!!

  44. ARAIG says:

    Sorry Corey, Hell is a real place and not a state a mind or being. Jesus describes it as a place of anguish and pain, full of fire. He’s provided a way for us to escape the punishment we deserves as sinners because he is loving. Those who willingly choose to reject this gift of salvation will suffer the fate they deserve. Just enough for you?
