Its crazy how most of these NY rappers went from being the “it” niggas back in the 90s/early 2000’s and now they sound like 95% of the “unsigned, up & coming artists” of today.. fighting for attention.. smh… funny how the game changed…
Ebro is a sucker. He’s a corporate slave. He has no power. Down south music is getting heavy radio because that’s where the labels are putting the budgets. Payola controls radio. There is a lot of quality music coming from New York but not quality money to radio.
Dude will lose his job trying to fight a new york fight! At the end of the day he’s doing what he needs to do survive in a new “non regional” market. This record doesn’t translate to listeners today as a melodic southern record might…your listener is what gets advertisers interested. Once advertisers stop paying for a slot Hot 97 will die…Before Hot 97 “dies” Ebro will be fired and a new person will be brought in to try and “save” the station or keep it’s advertisement money.
He just keeping his job and i cant blame him for that…lets say he’s not the program director at Hot 97 at some point …nigaz wont even care about him no more…
These artists need to stop blamin local radio… especially since they have so many different options now because of the internet… this shit is getting corny and making our city look like cry babies…
