    Kanye is one smart cookie.

  • Fly boulevard

After this interview, I understand Kanye more as well as “Yeezus”….. He’s sound like he ranting and raving because in my opinion he living in a world populated by the hearing impaired. I believe the ones behind perpetrating his crazy, egotistical, image are the #conformist and are the pawns that help pulled the strings #listen #cthagod

  • lolol

kanye SO mad at charlamagne hahahaha you can see him just raging in his own head when charlamagne says something and he’s not even looking back at him

  • yorapper

hahahah his response to Charlamange, “Yeah that’s great.”.

  • Mar-tian

This was a really good interview. It helps me to understand a bit more Kanye’s perspective. Finally there’s media who didn’t kiss up to him and asked him the hard questions. I think he focused too much on the fashion stuff but i guess that’s where his head is at. Kanye should have flipped the scenario on Charlamagne and ask him how he would feel if people told him he could only do radio, no Guy Code, no MTV, nothing else. It’s only fair that Kanye does what’s fulfilling to him.

    • Eric

      YES !! EXACTLY !!!

    • Micsmitts28

But to what extreme did charlamgne go to get there did go on rants is he any less of a radio personality ? Kanye music is falling off due to this

  • JP

You have to give ol’ Charlamagne credit. I thought if this ever happened he would step back a little but he pushed Ye. This was a good interview and we’re going to see one of the greats either crash and burn or maybe we are seeing a new modern day Pac, time will tell.

  • musikal

    Great interview.

  • titlady

They are gonna kill him. he is dropping heavy knowledge. but it goes off a lower thinking head

    • ilexx

I won’t lie, I thought about that during the interview too. Like he is tighten up his delivery of the message and staying consistent with the knowledge, that is gonna cause a problem for some people.

      • titlady

the average thinking black person, cannot understand this. Charlemegne represent them, he is talking about power.
not materialism, but power, blacks have no power at the table.

        • Noe/Edub

I agree with you 100%. It’s always been about power. The revolutionists that Charlemagne says he admires were fighting the same kinds of establishments and conglomerates that these corporations are now. You can simplify it as “oh its just clothes” but its the ownership of the structure that produces said clothes where blacks never get access to.

          • !

Kanye doesn’t want people to stop being obsessed with Louis Vuitton, he wants to be the one designing it. He doesn’t want Americans to stop being obsessed with celebrities, he wants to be better compensated for their fascination be the one designing it. He likes slaves he just wants to be a master

          • PhuckYu

fuck you uneducated niggers deleting my shit. Don’t want ppl to see the truth. Corny ass lames

        • k.smith

          BOOM. Thank you.

    • Yea

You took the words right out of my mouth.. I am really worried about that happening.. This will definitely go over the head of the lower thinking..

      • k.smith

It already has…look at the responses on here.

        • 1

You dumbasses are the lower thinking minds. Kanye doesn’t want to change how people think so they being obsessed with LV, he wants to be designing it. He doesn’t want Americans to stop worshipping celebrities, he wants to be better compensated for their fascination. He likes the ideas of slaves just fine, it is simply that he wants to be the master holding the keys.

        • 6

He doesn’t want people to stop being obsessed with LV, he wants to be the one designing it. He doesn’t want Americans to stop being obsessed with celebrities, he wants to be better compensated for their fascination be the one designing it. He likes slaves he just wants to be a master

    • Lissa Millien

Dang I was thinking the same thing. smh I’m not even a Kanye fan but he did speak alot of truth and he talks too much.

  • ilexx

Honestly this interview was really good, even though it sounded like alot of the content is similar to what you have been hearing from him lately, its really how he handled the interview and restated his opinions and feelings to get his point across. I really feel like ok maybe now I get a little bit of what he was trying with Yeezus and the fact that he was OK with it being imperfect aslong as it might influence somebody to do it better. That’s what I took from that at least.

Kanye is saying some very true stuff on here, but he is misguided on his thinking. Blacks don’t have the influence or power of others in the world, especially the business world, but sneakers and clothes wont get Blacks were we need to be, he needs to move this focus to Banks and Plants and other real industries, Entertainers are just that, they are here to entertain the wealthy, Ctg is ether dumb or he is doing his job very well. But Ctg is correct, kanye does need some real niggas around, some real smart niggas to teach him that what he is saying is on point, but his solution wrong.

    • MassConglom

You gotta crawl before you walk though homie. He has to start from the bottom and build his way up to what your suggesting he focus on first. Confucius said “Every journey starts with the first step”… or somethin to that effect. I say go for it Kanye. P.S. Charlemagne is the radio personality version of Samuel L. Jacskson’s character off Django. “What dat nigga Kanye doin on a Nair”…smh. Step ya mind up Charlemagne.

  • brza

    hats off to Charlamagne

    • k.smith

he was terrible. you have to be a simpleton to think he actually did a good job.

      • brza

not at all we just think differently

  • brza

Kanye makes no sense 90% of the time? a rant is a rant and Charlamagne did not let up on him he made him explain his nonsense and even his explanations didn’t make any sense. one of the best interviews with Kanye to date

  • Donn

I’m a Kanye fan but I will admit dude thinks his opinion is the only one that matters. I think C-Tha God humbled him which is good. Cus honestly now his interviews are taking away from what he’s trying to accomplish. What makes Jay so iconic is the fact that he doesn’t talk too much, He gets his business done and let’s us see his breakthrough. Like I don’t see Michael Jordan doing interviews ranting and raving, they just do their thing and make history. I admit Kanye has helped shift the culture, he’s influential as far urban kids who like clothes and are hypebeasts, that’s cool, but he has to change his approach. Because he’s looking like a chicken with his head cut off running around screaming and putting his business in the street. It’s like the world is his Facebook status and everything has to be Tweeted to the public. Naw man, make moves under the radar, know when to say certain shit and tread light cus as long as you need help from other ppl to do something, u gotta tread light

    • k.smith

i get what you’re saying about jay and mj’s approach but I don’t think you really get it. Kanye is trying to reach an even higher level of influence than what Jay/MJ have done…that’s why people don’t get it, they don’t understand what that level of influence entails. Kanye’s a trailblazer, whether people want to admit or not.

      • Guest

People get it but who ever reached that level while running their mouth? He talks to much. Let your genius speak for you. LV and the rest don’t accept you? DIY!! He’s got influence so why not just do whatever line he wants?

  • http://www.DoobiRocEnt.Com/ Doobi-Roc

Kanye trying to wake people up, yall better pay attention… the way he go about it may be different to you, but that’s the point.. Be different, be you, and do something. The old way of doing things is fucked up… People wanna be workers instead of owners.. That’s stupid, are parents and grandparents did that cause they had to.. Us today can become billionaires and have some say and control of are future.

    • Lissa Millien

That’s true but he needs to figure out a better delivery. He even said he’s trying to learn from Jay because people respond to him better.

      • http://www.DoobiRocEnt.Com/ Doobi-Roc

Rite.. Yeah he defiantly need to calm down and move more quiet.. I cant wait to see his NEW visions come true.. That’s why Jay is the best.. He just do shit and aint gotta say much. Action speak louder then words.. Kanye is gonna be one of the greatest, maybe even surpass some of the well known…. He’s the only person that can ruin that… We’ll C

        • Dray ♐

Kanye’s going to crash and burn from mental illness. . .bookmark what I’m saying. The people saying he is speaking knowledge want to believe this, so bad, to be truth. Kanye is ranting about the limits of being a millionaire and not being accepted by the “very people” he can’t stand yet today he is carrying Louis Vuitton luggage. I’m glad Charlemagne called bullshit for bullshit. Kanye USE to have meaning to his words way back when his mother was living. Chasing money is going to destroy him.

    • jblok

true but what ctg is trying to say is that his MUSIC is falling off. Kanye used to be my favorite rapper growing up not because of his air yeezys but because of his music. If Kanye wants to be bigger than lv, walmart, hnm and other stores he mentioned then good for him but he shouldn’t lose his soul in the process.

  • R123

The potential to be a great man is there, not just an ‘artist’ but a human being. This is what happens when you don’t have people around to keep you grounded like his mother, kim isn’t going to sit him down and get his head in a good place. The interview was good but disjointed he couldn’t directly answer questions without going off on a tangent, great idea no follow though

This interview EXPOSED charlamane tha god. He’s funny to simple, narrow-minded people and that’s it. Kanye’s thought process is on another level and people who think and communicate the way that cthagod does, will never understand what Kanye is trying to say.

  • wei sheng

ye sees what we don’t, period. everybody’s a critic, ye is in a position to change the world, he sees what we don’t

  • eastbayjames

    Kanye West aka. Mr. Crazy.
I also love the fact so many here are saying the lower thinking minded folks wont understand Kanye. I guess only you elitists will understand him or educated folks. To bad the blue collar, the poor, and the over all disenfranchised wont give a fuck about Crazy Kanye message about not being in control of certain infrastructures that he had nothing to do with building. C Tha God is right, he gave Kanye the best advice when he said stop depending on others, and do it yourself. Except Kanye feels entitled. God truly bless him the man needs to get squared up. He’s far from very intelligent. In fact you can tell his words come from somebody else in the sense he can’t really go off his cue cards that he’s memorized. Because he’s not truly thinking for himself. Oh well .. Ye is gonna be 40 soon and more irrelevant than the already is. Congrats to C tha God you completely exposed Kanye West as a delusional fraud.

    • k.smith

Don’t insult blue collar workers or the poor and disenfranchised by associating them with lower-thinking minded folk and cthagod.

You can be blue collar/poor/disenfranchised and still have dreams (like Kanye)…AND be intelligent.

      • eastbayjames

No you missed the point. The point is people that are not in the elite or rich as fuck like Kanye West. Don’t give a fuck about his bitching and whining about the fashion industry. They don’t relate because they have to do their best just to survive on a day to day basis. Go to work day to day, its called priorities. Kanye bitching about the fashion industry is far from revolutionary or his ideas about owning and controlling your own business or art etc of any kind is hardly a new idea. Everyone knows this, but everyone also knows you can’t just walk into any field and demand to have all the same rights and powers that the people that created the infrastructure have just because you don’t think its fair. That’s called life, you have to build from the ground up and hope your ideas, dreams, etc live up to your expectations and that the public consumption will back you, because if not , like any business you will fail and have to start over. Kanye acts entitled because he’s an artist simple as that. He compares himself to Steve Jobs and Walt Disney, nobody gave them the infrastructure to their corporations they had to live and die for it, go through hard times and good times. Kanye doesn’t understand this. Instead he wants to tag everything with slave. Which is disrespectful to real slaves and the African American community that went through real segregation and racism and had to march and fight for basic American rights. I will never respect Kanye West, of any person that uses the word slavery, the race card, or feels entitled. I respect hard working people, that go out their and make their dreams come true, through failure comes great success. Kanye has a lot of lessons still to learn. He’s just way behind the ball as he’s gonna be 40 years old soon.

  • josh

    haha.. kanye cool.

    Kanye,

Please stop interviewing with these urban uneducated radio personalities. They are not on your level, so your vision and ideology is beyond their comprehension. You are not ranting, you have just been afforded a lens into the bigger picture of how black people are oppressed by governments and corporations. Corporation’s control governments, therefore you need to put yourself in a real position of power by aspiring to control the corporations. Charlemagne’s thought process is beneath you, why waste your energy and subject yourself to someone who apparently has not traveled outside of the United States? His thinking is ridge and narrow. Its transparent that his exposure to big business and the monopoly machine is limited. I’m proud of you, because you are truly before your time. You are there black man, you have escaped the propaganda that ensures our slavery. And please, please, please don’t give Charlemagne a platform to critique your next album. The album is a classic. Stay safe.

Can someone please explain to me what’s so “genius” about Kanye? I mean, he’s a good producer, but 90% of his beats are recycled from old songs and he just loops a section. As far as geniuses, why does he constantly put himself in the same category as greats like Michael Jackson or Michael Jordan. He never was at the top of the game to me, lyrically or production. He’s always been one of the top with Pharrell, Timbaland, and Swizz Beats. But to say the top artist/producer is a stretch.
Kanye is misguided and narcissistic. PEOPLE matter; product does not. If you do not have people to support your products, then it’s a waste of time. And this power thing?! I wish I would not shop in LV in Atlanta just because he said so. That would make me purchase more. And in his mindset, if someone told him that, he would too. He’s so delusional and uneducated. Charlamagne did a good job as an interviewer and a loyal fan who really challenged him, even though he conveniently circumvented every question with paraboles, metaphors, and similes. He couldn’t even keep up with Charlamagne. Poor Sway, he got the raw end of the stick.

    • jblok

Kanye produces every song he goes on since college dropout which is very difficult to do. He’s a legend in hip hop no question but hollywood changed him and I think he has no one around to check him when he’s tripping and acting up.

The worst part is Ye believes his own bullshit. Talking about trying to change people from being slaves to brand names but the only damn reason people buy the Air Yeezys are because of his name on it. He talks about Nike owing him because his shoes go for thousands, but they only go for that because of his name. Not because hes fucking Michelangelo.

  • Rufus Buck

@32:25 “It ain’t one black designer that make a suit jacket” Ozwald Boateng anyone??? The youngest EVER tailor on Saville Row (the MECCA for suits in the world) and the first black tailor EVER on Saville Row:

Oh, in his mid-thirties, he was also made CREATIVE DIRECTOR for GIVENCHY:

And this is Kanye’s precise problem. His facts are wrong and only SEEM right to people not in the fashion industry. He is constantly wrong. One of the main reasons he is rejected by the fashion industry is because his DESIGNS ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

He finds it an insult when people don’t like what he is creating. He writes it off as us just not being educated enough.

Kanye’s main problem is NOT that we are all slaves, but that HE HIMSELF doesn’t own us.
