  1. The Rock says says:

Everytime a rap album comes out I want to see it go #1, but congrats YG, #2 is still great

  2. GreenBergs says:

believable numbers, shit like this makes me actually believe yall industry mutherfuckers sometimes…

  3. Hannibal Lecture says:

It will pick up. I think people wrote YG off as a ratchet dance artist but his album is a West Coast Classic! He put together a great album!

    1. Tree Of Life says:

I absolutely did write him off as a ratchet booty dance artist, but I had to re-track that. Album is Classic

    2. ray_punk95 says:

I liked this album. but Schoolboy Q’s album was doper and sold way more without a radio hit. Oxymoron is a real West Coast Classic! IMO!

      1. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

Q had 2 radio hits spinning in Miami at the same time. I’m an east coast dude and i heard both albums. i enjoyed YG’s album way more. The funny thing is YG talks about a range of things and Schoolboy stayed in his box a little bit.

        1. ray_punk95 says:

Your gonna tell me that the “2 hits spinning in Miami” was bigger than”My Nigga”?? Schoolboy delivered an amazing album with much more lyricism than YG!

          1. hiphoporangutang says:

Loved Schoolboy’s album, fave in a long time. But all this “no radio single” talk is an absolute joke. I live in Winnipeg, Canada and heard Collard Greens to and from work and Man of the Year on a different station as well. And thats a small city in Canada… if your town has a hip hop station Q has been spinning steady for a while…..

          2. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

Probably! songs like “Man of the year” and “Collard Greens” can go places that a song like “My Nigga” cant go, that’s why you gotta watch the charts and not follow posts. just because something is big in your neck of the woods doesn’t mean its big worldwide. Schoolboy Q and TDE are huge in the white rap and nerd rap scene, the only people above them are probably Eminem and Macklemore. YG hasn’t crossed over yet.

    3. REALLY23 says:

I thought he was weak til I heard his record w/Kendrick… That shit sound like it should’ve been on the Chronic that ain’t never droppin’…

      1. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

The first 3 songs knock. i didn’t need Kendrick’s cosign to know his music is tight.

  4. Jig-ah says:

s/o YG Real Rap…West Koast Shit…Jeezy Finally Making Moves for his Homies…

    1. Jesus Ernesto Alejos says:

jeezy didnt do shit. its all Y’s hustle bro. no one fuckin cares about jeezy

      1. LuckyP says:

no lie. that nigga YG saved jeezy the past year and some change

        1. areal1 says:

Yg saved jeezy????? HOW SWAY??? Nigga when jeezy album drop he gon sell period yg did his thing but he can’t SAVE nobody especially not somebody of jeezy stature

          1. LuckyP says:

nigga jeezy last shit was forgotten about as soon as the fuckin wind blew !! niggas still touring that trap or die shit, but as far as new jeezy nah because his newer flow has been all west coast and who is west coast?!? YG. these are facts fuckboy

      2. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

Mutual benefit. Jeezy managed to go gold on TM103 which wasn’t very good. but As a rapper Jeezy is still a beast so…

  5. Chester Cheeto says:

I still can’t believe Def Jam even put out his album. He fuckin sucks!! I guarantee you they only put it out cause of the “My Nigga” song which was saved by RIch Homie Quan’s hook.

    1. Hannibal Lecture says:

Better him than the cop!!!! YG put out one of the best albums on Def Jam in years and thats real talk!

      1. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

Oh God, please lets not go that direction with this shit. let that nigga live, B.

    2. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

His singles alone paid all the bills. the album is just profits.

  6. Joshua says:

What I want to know is….who’s been buying that Frozen soundtrack???

    1. Hannibal Lecture says:

Disney always gets the W the soundtracks because Its sells their movies!

    2. Ghost Dog says:

for real them shits moving units lool

    3. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

That “Happy” song is on it.

      1. DJ NoSo says:

actually Happy is on the Dispicable Me 2 Soundtrack

      2. Free says:

“Happy” is from Despicable Me 2… Frozen has the song that actually won the Oscar, “Let It Go”

        1. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

          you’re right, my bad.

    4. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

Niggas are like “man fuck this rap shit, let me try cartoons”

    5. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

Parents for their kids. There will always be kids to buy this music for.

  7. mrholloway says:

It’s a cold ass album. That West West coast!

  8. RIV says:

    good numbers for YG….

  9. Redz says:

THIS NIGGA SIGNED TO DEF JAM HAD A PLATINUM SINGLE HAD A VIDEO WITH DRAKE AND THIS IS ALL HE SELLS? OH I FORGOT HE ALSO SIGNED TO THE WORST NIGGA TO EVER RUN A LABEL IN JEEZY THT EXPLAINS IT

  10. LuckyP says:

niggas act like they know wtf they’re talking about. you don’t even know what “good” numbers are in 2014.

  11. Get Moneynigga says:

A REAL LET DOWN AS FAR AS THE NUMBERS GO.YG DESERVE BETTER THAN THIS.

  12. Donn says:

Is dude really nice? Cus every song I heard wasn’t lyrical at all. It was ABC rap. But niggas writing classic on the comment section

    1. LuckyP says:

niggas scream classic off of 1 listen nowadays .. they don’t know what a classic is

      1. Hannibal Lecture says:

You listen to MMG Scrotum face,,,,,,nuff said! The albums classic hands down!

        1. bitch made^ says:

Yg is right up mmg’s alley you dipshit take your scrotum talk and shove it up your ass.

          1. LuckyP says:

bang bang, that niggas a clown and I’m not sure what mmg has to do with anything.

the fact remains, you CAN NOT deem an album a classic off of one listen. the fuck is this nigga @hannibal so butt hurt by that? LMAOO none of them YG records are stand out thats a fact. that niggas not talking talking anything of substance. its just slightly entertaining rap. deal with it

and @areal1 go eat a dick

          2. Hannibal Lecture says:

Bottom line bitch your a cop lover only substance that fat cop know is mayo and ketchup pussy! Fuck you the albums classic like your grandmas pussyhole in the 1960s!

          3. areal1 says:

OK u still on ya macho man Randy savage shit huh U wanna cyber wrestle gtfoh u fuckin wayward adolescent mmg ain’t cutting u no checks it’s OK to like yg and jeezy music the beef is over

          4. Hannibal Lecture says:

Thats sweet how you defending your life partner Lucky P(ussy). The albums classic pussy bottom line!

      2. SK says:

        ^^^^^^
        #TRUTH

No way you can label something a classic till you listen to it a year later and it still resonates like the first time you heard it. Standing the test of time one of the biggest qualities of said “classic”.

        1. LuckyP says:

you said it right there fam! a classic MUST be able to stand the test of time. these dumb cockblowing niggas be trolls and think they know it all though.

    2. Schooly Scott says:

Lyrically hes bumwipe but he did put out a great album start to finish! I gotta give it to the West they bring back the concept of creating good albums with content. NY aint got any artist doing that right now and the south have artist who rarely (and I do mean rarely) do it.

    3. areal1 says:

Nah it’s not slaughter or em but it’s great music lyrical metaphors and similes don’t define a classic album think doggy style or all eyez on me it’s also songwriting, production, cohesiveness and things of that nature and I think yg Def delivered now that being said it’s distinctly west coast so ifu don’t like that sound you’ll hate it

      1. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

perfect examples. when you listen to it, you feel like you’re riding around with this nigga, doing all kinda crazy shit. Fun album.

    4. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

he surprisingly has some lyrical shit. its more West Coast in that its more of a narrative compared to New York metaphorical rap. I was gonna pass on buying it and my boy made me hear it. DJ mustard delivered on the production and you get a Boyz in the hood type vibe from YG’s verses. fun album. I wouldn’t say classic, definitely a West Coast anthem album though.

    5. Luciano says:

not everything has to be lyrical for it to be good

  13. Reaking Havoc and Henny says:

This is great starting week numbers for YG. You have to understand the masses wrote YG off like any of these potential one hit wonders who drop an album to ride the success off the hit record. But after the album got good reviews from alot of credible people it will takeoff. Hands down hes put out the best album so far this year. Hate or Love it West Coast Hip Hop is about dominate like it did 20 years ago. Good Kid and My Krazy Life are the catalyst to both sides of the coin: Lyricism and Gangsta Ratchet Music!

  14. Chronic says:

Just goes to show you singles don’t sell albums

  15. Hussle says:

platinum single, album not performing on the charts. Meh who cares…album is only good..not great, and dont even start with the classic shit

  16. Jesse says:

No diss to YG, but has everyone forgotten Oxymoron already? Q put out a way better album out than My Krazy Life. The west coast is def coming back though.

    1. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

No disrespect but maybe Q’s album is over-hyped if everyone forgot about it already. lets be honest, it was a good album but sound and content wise, it wasn’t anything we haven’t heard before. YG was nostalgic ’90s rap and fans been asking for that back…

  17. EchoxHotel says:

Billin Bickin Bakk nigga!!! I deleted it after 1 listen i like his singles and he can rap but aww well

  18. areal1 says:

These are solid numbers for yg he made a West coast classic I can’t lie I didn’t expect it but he Def proved me wrong. On another note this is more about the music industry not yg 59k number 2 album in the country damn that’s bad

  19. MR. UNDI$PUTED THE MOGUL says:

Congrats on a dope ass album & debuting #2 in the country!!! I find it ironic that thee same 20 or so hater’s always shitting on MMG & said Mastermind was a flop at #1, have no problem’s with this album selling less then 60,000 copies.

    1. MMG Suede says:

      just goes to show

    2. MMG Pleather says:

you cant compare YG to Rick Ross and the machine he had behind him with promo and featurfes. Did YG had 5 banner ads up on Rap Radar at the same time?

    3. areal1 says:

Yg never said he was the biggest rap artist in the game. Yg never bragged about numbers so that’s two totally different expectations all u could ask from yg was good music and he delivered

  20. 59K on a debut is a flop no matter how you put it. On the contrary, this album is fuckin DOPE. Straight 90’s West Coast shit, I fucks with the wavy transitions in btwn songs too. Salute.

    1. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

They projected those #’s so its not a flop. These aren’t a bunch of Orangutans running Def Jam, they’re business me. I’m sure they allocated a realistic budget so that they can recoup a small profit. they’ll continue to expand his base supporters. DJ Mustard being in his corner is 90% of the reason Def Jam released it though. It’s a guarantee the production will be hot regardless of what YG says. Not to mention he has 2 or 3 hit singles spinning in every urban club. Those singles footed the bill as well.

      1. A flop for the execs is 0 records sold, I understand that fully. 59K first week is a flop for YG, period. Hopefully it picks up so we can see a sophomore in a timely manner. Or maybe I’m over exaggerating because I’m expecting 200K first week for every artist on the most known label in HipHop in the World.

    2. Anti-Hero says:

HE SOLD MORE THAN FRENCH MONTANA, TYGA AND ACE HOOD AS WELL AS DJ KHALED, MMG AND RICH GANG COMPILATIONS.

      1. And your point is what? Lol Everything you named was fucking garbage & this album trumps all of those.

  21. nduh says:

    Only 50 g copies …..dats jusr weak

  22. D.O. says:

Album slaps from beginning to end!!!

  23. my dick could sell more. says:

I’m glad an album with 59k copies sold wasn’t number one… Kendrick sold more… big Sean sold more juicy j sold more… the list goes on… this dude is signed to Pu$haz Ink, CTE World and Def Jam, had a single in the top 20 on billboard and only sells this much? Dude shouldn’t be celebrated this is sad… all that money going right back to the label.

  24. smh says:

his SINGLE PLATINUM so that 60K is really 400K copies! A Platinum SINGLE equal 350K albums most of you niggas wouldn’t know that! Why you think DJ Khaled and Juicy J keep dropping ALBUM when the sells are SO LOW? Because their SINGLE go PLATINUM! Look it up! A PLATINUM SINGLE = 350K ALBUM! YG got 2 PLATINUM SINGLES (700K) so his ALBUM is almost PLATINUM the FIRST WEEK!

    1. Epul says:

I honestly don’t see how that makes sense… Maybe you’re thinking of shipping and not selling.

  25. Extra Domus says:

high on the chart cuz nobody put anything out that week lolll

  26. CLIPZ says:

FLLLOOOOOOPPP!!!! I REMEMBER ON HERE ONCE WHEN WE WERE HAVING AN MMG VS CTE CONVO A NIGGA TOLD ME YG WAS GONNA GO GOLD HE BE OFF THE CHARTS NEXT WEEK LOL…..MEEK N WALE BOTH WITH WELL OVER 100K THEIR FIRST WEEK.. JEEZY WORSE NIGGA TO SIGN TO

    1. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

Def Jam has his distribution. Jeezy and CTE are just his hype man, connecting him with contact.

  27. Brandon Pitts says:

    YG Album is fire

  28. Blacc Jedi says:

since when is 56k good…better off sellin singles or ringtones

    1. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

56,000 units times $13 is a $728,000 pay day. not bad for somebody who got all his production done in his own camp by DJ mustard and got features from the homies.

      1. Blacc Jedi says:

Hes signd to a nigga signd to another nigga he payin dat album advance back with those sales bruh bruh

        1. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

I’m not denying what you’re saying. i’m painting a picture because you are downplaying 56K as if every artist does that. $728,000 is still $728,000. Even if he only gets $60,000 from it, its still $60,000 more than he had when he started. With two hit singles under his belt you can throw $100,000 on top of that too. This is a win for a anyone, especially a gang banger from the streets. you’re in a fantasy 90’s world.

  29. Mb says:

The Album is hot, and the beats are dope.

  30. Strong Enough says:

60k is good? lmao but i guess they didn’t lie when they said it debuted “high”

    1. tipp_-0183 aka Dwight Stewart says:

      lol, definitely told the truth

  31. They says:

Since when is 60,000 copies considered high?!

  32. They says:

Not to mention they use practically the same 808 snare on every record. This album is so forgettable.
