THE NEW ERA HAS BEGUN. #kanyewest

  2. fox says:

I don’t think any artist in the last 15 years has influenced the game as much as Kanye. Artists from all genres has stated his influence on them with the directions he chooses to go with his music. Dude is top 10 of all time and I don’t care what the naysayers have to say about it.

    1. bigfoot2011 says:

When u say the game, u mean “rap game”? Or music game?

      1. fox says:

I mean music, period. Dance, electronic, and r&b artists have praised his influence to even rock musicians like Jack White.

        1. bigfoot2011 says:

I thought Kanye was unique till I listened to his album with my mom. She was so disappointed cuz every song was sampled. She asked me “Do musicians from this generation not make their own sounds”?

          1. It's Just Music says:

you and your mom should buy an mpc and record player and be legendary artists since it sounds so easy.

          2. Theodore Pendergrass says:

N*gg*s need to pick up instruments, his Mom’s is right.

          3. It's Just Music says:

and an MPC isn’t an instrument?

Do you think you can do what AraabMuzik does on the MPC if I gave you one?

You do realize that the very foundation of Rap music as a genre was ‘stealing’ the work of other genre’s and rap over it because ‘nigga’s didn’t want to pick up instruments?’

          4. Theodore Pendergrass says:

No it not. Christmas rap, The Break were played with live instruments, that’s just few off the top of my head.

    2. bowtie_fly says:

I somewhat disagree. Believe it or not, T-pain influenced the game significantly. He did not maintain dominance, but his impact should still be noticed.

    3. intelligentsoul says:

I say he is top 5. Tupac, Jay-Z, Eminem, Kanye, Wayne.

      1. Shipwreckdakota says:

the fuck outta here fuck boy, Nas spit harder than all of em except maybe Tupac.

        1. intelligentsoul says:

Nas can rap but he doesnt have everything else these others have…like impact..longevity,style,,album sales etc

          1. It's Just Music says:

Nas influenced every rapper in someway. shape, or form.
Does he suck now? Of course, but dude has classics on classics. Your top 5 wouldn’t exist without Nas. Just saying.

          2. intelligentsoul says:

I HATE that discussion…like so and so wouldnt exist without so and so. ITS ALL BULLSHIT. there is no factual way to prove that none of my top 5 wouldnt be here today if it wasnt for Nas. Nas has one classic and the Jay-Z beef. thats it…Is he a legend? YES. but Top 5, no. At least mines anyway….if you put the stats up for any of my 5..you will understand

          3. Kevin Banks says:

Fuck outta here guy Nas is still the shit, Life Is Good is waaay better than Magna Carta Holy Grail, Nothing Was The Same, Born Sinner, Yeezus, Marshall Mathers LP2, My name is My name, all of them shits!! Only album better than that I would say was Good Kid M.A.A.D City, having good record sales doesn’t equate your shit to being a classic, NAS is technically one of the best rappers to ever do it, no other rappers can imitate his rhyme schemes and flow patterns, they are too unconventional he’s like a chameleon on a beat. He is one of the most sophisticated rappers out and raps about real shit going on in the world and in the streets, that other mainstream rappers never even touch on. I don’t even think there is a comparison he may never sell as much as Jay Z but his music is way more meaningful, and unlike a lot of artists you never outgrow his music, this man is a fucken Legend guy! Song for song he shits on any rapper and I could prove it to you

          4. Guest says:

Fuck outta here guy Nas is still the shit, Life Is Good is waaay better than Magna Carta Holy Grail, Nothing Was The Same, Born Sinner, Yeezus, Marshall Mathers LP2, My name is My name, all of them shits!! Only album better than that I would say was Good Kid M.A.A.D City, good record sales doesn’t equate your shit to being a classic, GZA still spitting better than all these rappers you guys hold up so highly

          5. It's Just Music says:

The only album that the Nas project was better than was Born Sinner cause that shit was TRASH.
BTW, I don’t care if GZA is ‘still spititing better’ than all the rappers I hold highly, cause that man can’t write a better SONG than anyone I had mentioned in that list.
I don’t care if you have triple entendres if your verses.
Lupe Fiasco can spit, he spits so hard that not even his fans understand what that man is saying lmfao

    4. MannyThoughts says:

You should try to listen to Damon Albarn as I feel he strongly resonates closer to one of the most influential artists of music in general. He n ot only had stellar work as himself, but he was also the frontman for Blur and Gorillaz and he also was out long before Kanye even started and continues to create great tunes til this day. You should check him out.

    5. justsaying says:

Kayne BIRTHED this WHOLE GENERATION of RAPPERS! Drake, Cole, Kendrick all these backpack rapper should THANK Kanye. BEFORE Kanye you had to STREET/Drug Dealer/ Tuff Guy to be in the RAP GAME! Kayne CHANGED that! Look at how ALL the RAPPERS DRESS “NOW”! Kayne brought that shit to the GAME! He made SMART the NEW GANGSTER! This a ROCKSTAR MOVE by Marrying a BAD BITCH! Kayne the NEW RICK JAMES! He gone MARRY somebody else FAMOUS before its all over with watch! Kayne WRITING his OWN HISTORY BOOK lol

    6. Dumas says:

Eminem? You think Kanye influenced the game more than eminem? Seriously? You are stupid

      1. Kevin Banks says:

Kanye definitely influenced the game more than Eminem

  3. MadShot says:

So can we expected Ye’s next songs will be based on the same type of sound as on Yeezus ?
    Shit is sad.

    1. yeah says:

More than likely a leftover from the Yeezus sessions, just chill.

  4. Dope says:

    That… was… shit.

Really though, I understand he used those drums to make the sound a bit ”brazilian”, but the his voice was too much in this case, and there was nothing memorable there.

As much as I like the man’s work, it seems it’s time for him to go that Dre route, where he never really produces anything but keeps his name in public with expectations for his next project that will never drop, and using that expectation to sell some other products.

    1. fox says:

……but we haven’t even heard the whole song yet.

      1. MannyThoughts says:

Actually the whole song was out before being taken down. his camp kept preaching “unfinished edit” or something to that effect

      2. Dope says:

True, I haven’t. But what I have heard of it doesn’t make me want to hear the full song.

    2. Theodore Pendergrass says:

If Dre not producing his on shit, why the people who “so call producing for dre” not blowing up like Dre. The hate continue.

      the

      1. Dope says:

I never said Dre didn’t produce his shit. I said he basically stopped doing the music and moved on to selling Beats.

        1. Theodore Pendergrass says:

MY Bad, then i misunderstood your comment.

      2. bleh says:

Nigga do you not get the concept of ghost producers/ ghost writers? The whole premise is that you don’t blow up but help push the brand of the person you’re ghosting for. Kanye at one time was a Ghost producer…and if you listen to his first album it’s all about how hard it was for him to blow up.. but you knew that already.

        1. Theodore Pendergrass says:

Nobody said ghost producers Knee grow. Kanye is a beatmaker, not producer on a Dre Level.
