Despicable Monster.

Wayne sat at the debate desk again. This time, he talked about last night’s Spurs vs. Heat game, LeBron James, and Michael Jordan.

Previously:

Weezy was back on with Skip and Stephen A. He talked about the NBA MVP and teacher suspension.

Since Weezy was in Connecticut, he returned to ESPN this morning and appeared on 1st & 10 with Skip Bayless. Before talking sports, Wayne spoke on Tha Carter IV and his new mixtape, Sorry 4 The Wait.

    How to Love #7 Song in the entire country

    Has 3 of the top 5 songs on the Urban Charts

    Started off the 2nd leg of the I’m Still Music Tour, which was already his most lucruative tour ever…and know he has like 30 more dates in large outdoor venues..he OWNS the entirety of the summer hip hop touring market

    C4 on the way, internet geeks are distraught

    YMCMB is The Empire, get down or lay down

  • JNasty

    Enjoy it while it lasts….crew of the moment will run out of gas in another year. Carter IV will sell around 400k, its smart they are making the most of it, touring is the most lucrative option for an artist. Drake and Nicki need to hurry with their follow ups and the only other noteworthy Young Money artist is Tyga, the rest hurt the brand. Its sad hip hop can’t have the longevity of other genres. Deathrow, G- Unit, Ruff Ryders, Bad Boy, its interesting to see how often crews on top only last 3-4 years.

    @JNasty

    YMCMB might have the longest run of longevity in hip hop crew history…YM is just an extention of Cash Money, it’s the part of the Wayne owns. Wayne’s first debut album went platinum TWELVE YEARS AGO

    Think about that again

    12 long years ago….think about all that’s changed in the rap game and who’s come and gone since then…and he’s still going platinum today…and the label is dominating urban music more than maybe ever did, even in the late 90′s Hot Boy/Big Tymer era…the media nor the fans give Cash Money the props they deserve…this is the LAST REMAINING MAJOR HIP HOP LABEL WITH A STRICTLY DISTRIBUTION P&D deal (look up what that means), who first blew up in ’98 and is dropping hit after hit and platinum artists…you bring up longevity like this isn’t their 3rd decade of being a major force in the game and like the biggest true blue chip new stars in hip hop aren’t signed to them…Nicki and Drake JUST got started and aren’t even finished peaking yet, let alone on the decline…Nicki in particular has all kinds of untapped potential as far as the heights she could reach…she’s 8 months into her album cycle with the biggest hit of career, Super Bass STILL claiming the charts at like #4 in the country

    The Empire has just began my friend

    @ Amen

    YOUNG MONEY IS NOT A HIP HOP CREW! THEY ARE A POP CREW! SMH!

    WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

  • Bawse!

    @Amen

    It doesn’t matter how much they sell! They don’t have talent! YM/Cash Money have always been a shit label. But I guess bullshit sells smh. Just cuz you

  • Bawse!

    *just cuz you sell 1 million doesn’t mean you have talent, it just mean there’s 1 million idiots that would buy that crap. More than likely the only ppl that would buy his music are little kids, white people, ATL faggots, trap faggots & bandwagons.

  • http://rapradar.com tunechi jr

    @bawse u such a fuckin idiot

  • Amen

    @Bawse!

    Musical quality is all subjective. So while I understand that you might not like the music, it really has nothing to do with this conversation. Longevity and results in the game, however, are not subjective. The fact of the matter is that Cash Money’s reign has lasted longer than just about any other black owned hip hop label

    Mind you, only a couple were ever fully black owned to begin with (Cash Money, No Limit, Rap-a-Lot)…but I include those who were partially owned by the Tall Isrealis through joint ventures too because they had parital black ownership (Roc-A-Fella, Death Row, Bad Boy, etc.)…every single one of them have either

    1. Sold all remaining ownership stakes to the T.I.’s (Roc-a-Fella)

    2. Failed and went out of business and no longer exist in any relevant fashion (Death Row, No Limit)

    3. Are shells of themselves and pretty much only exist as vanity labels for the label-head (G-Unit, Bad Boy)

    Cash Money has a reign of platinum dominance not matched in hip hop, and people continue to act like it’s by some accident or something and that it’s forever on the brink of falling off…after a while, you have to look at the reality of the situation and give the devil it’s due

  • Bawse!

    @Amen you mean dominated not matched Pop music. But what I’m saying is that there is no talent in the label & they don’t deserve the money & fame they have, when artist that have talent & meaning in their music don’t even make as much unless they get a cosigned or if they change up their style.

  • @Doobs_on_deck

    NY rap will never die u dumb fucks, Fab and Jada have been on 1st and 10 assholes, and they been sweating Hov 2 do ESPN 4 the longest, i hate ppl who talk nonsense but have no sense, When watch the throne drops followed by Cole world and Act II we gonna c what they talking then

  • HAHAHAHA

    @Bawse! It’s non sense for you to claim that they have no talent like its a provable fact. Weezy, drake, NMinaj, Kaled, tyga, bow wow, cory gunz, they all did things in the music industry that you can’T even dare to do for your own sake. Unless you actually tried to achieve something with such grandeur AND succeeded on a large scale, don’t be saying people are untalented as if it was a fact. Kanye could step up and say they are less talented (maybe), but you, please sit your ass down in front of the blogs and TV and enjoy the show.

  • Jimster

    LOL @ Amen

    Lil Wayne has eight albums in his discography. Out of those eight albums, five of those flopped. So that makes your points totally invalid…
