What was the point of signing with DJ Khaled, couldn’t he have released freestyles and mixtapes independently?

    1. KILLA says:

My thoughts exactly. Reality is he got more done with Cam than DJ Khaled. SMH. Cam really put Vado on like that from him and Cam being on the DJ Drama Boss Of All Bosses Gangsta Grill mixtapes to him having videos for Speaking In Tongues or Hey Muma which were all official NOT low budget production videos. He had 2 CDs in actual stores Slime Flu (can’t remember which number) along with Gunz & Butter. What has DJ Khaled done, My Bae? Me personally although I f*ck with Vado heavy, he seems like a lazy dude or not a fan of the limelight. He doesn’t seem to be hungry like some rappers. Many forget but he was making noise while 2 Chainz was trying make his thing pop and we all see how Chainz has come up in the game. I still got a bit of hope in him because truthfully he is one of the better/best rappers out of NY right now.

        lol true

      2. The Incredible Creation says:

well, ain’t shit gonna happen for him while he running behind Khaled.. they still can’t seem to get Ace on another level.. so it’s just not gonna happen… *imo*… We The Best just ain’t the best, clearly lol http://alltheparticulars.blogspot.com/

“he seems like a lazy dude or not a fan of the limelight.”

If anything I thought someone who signs to DJ Khaled is desperately seeking more limelight,.

      4. Savimbi says:

Agreed!!!!! I had high hopes for him, thought he could work something w/ we the best but “…he seems like a lazy dude” plus i’m sure the miami lifestyle more than likely got to him.

    2. Ayo says:

I agree with all the above but for anyone who genuinely wanted to click the song it’s kind of mean…gritty old school sample & Slime sounds like himself from a few years ago. I loved this sample on Ghostface’s song with his son from More Fish & it’s an equally hard flip here…

      1. Capuccino says:

        keeping it 100 strictly music

  2. el jim chapo guzman says:

    vado go back to harlem.

  3. The Incredible Creation says:

    same shit, different day… http://toomanyfuckinrappers.tumblr.com/

  4. Bkmkj says:

My nigg vado always got them hood chronicles in his rhymes…my nigg…chuuch…

  5. Van Sertima says:

i rarely agree with the comment section but i have to agree today. what was the use of signing with kahled if not to take advantage of the big budget production and big connect. this shit is dope but vado can do tracks for the block in his sleep – i appreciate it but ijs. more big records slime – don’t waste the plug.

    1. B Dot is a shill says:

The idea that Khaled will give you a big budget is a total myth. He comes from the school of officer ross/troy ave when it comes to overstating your wealth/power/business acumen. Where do you think Khaled gets all these millions from? He’s basically a glorified mixtape DJ that takes extravagant pictures from rented yachts/mansions

      1. Savimbi says:

that’s a very very good question…where do all these millions come from? lol all those big names in all those Khaled albums…what’s it cost? Two chainz, Chris Brown i imagine those two alone would cost about $100,000 each? add Drake we’re talking almost Half a Mill…might be a stretch, but Khaled ain’t selling albums like that, only his singles are going platinum and that’s 1 or two out of every album. It’s not like he’s touring neither. Something fishy bout that label lol

        1. B Dot is a shill says:

exactly…let’s just say for argument’s sake that Chris brown/drake/2 chainz etc give him huge discounts on verses because they know Khaled will throw it together with 3 other big names and the single will do numbers. Ok cool that’s a nice check for Khaled I’m sure, but he can’t round up all these guys and take them on tour while taking the lions share of the profits, he actually can’t round them up for a tour at all. so other than the annual 2 singles that do numbers, where do the millions come from? hosting clubs in miami? webcamming himself pouring champagne on his obese shirtless body and spouting manic platitudes about being “the best”? vado go back to harlem and beg forgiveness from Cam, it’s for the best

  6. yorapper says:

You don’t know how to make a good song though.

  7. bcl187 says:

This happened with juelz…They all say the same junk…..” Cam Held Me Back” he releases u to another major label and we don’t hear from U anymore besides freestyles or feats….same thing with Vado. He bit Cams hand and said he held him back and then he releases him to a major label and we barely hear from him anymore…all these freestyles and feats but no buzz anymore! Camron U THE FREAKIN MAN! Vado I support u but I look at u like juelz!

  8. smoss44 says:

Vado is such a let down it’s amazing. How couldn’t he have foreseen moving to khaled’s mia sound would be detrimental to his buzz? nigga you from harlem, not the south. Cam was the best thing ever to happen to ya dumb ass. see what juelz got from leaving cam? he wanted to be wayne and was to lazy to keep up. you got gassed by the souths buzz and same shit. don’t get me wrong Vado is super nice imo. He just made a bad choice, but the industry moves too fast for bad choices

  9. Dafuq says:

Vado reaching for that “we the best” label treatment lol.

It’s not gonna go well. I guarantee it.

  10. JetVet718 says:

“How you signed to one nigga that signed to another nigga thats signed to three different niggas”

Vado my dude but he shoulda stuck with Cam. Patience is key, those Bosses of Bosses series were fire and making potential for a single album. If V dropped a album or EP I’d buy it but I know it wouldn’t do well or he won’t get paid as much as if he stayed the indy route

  11. Capuccino says:
