too far with the jcoleshakur man. Pac was a different mind set and different upbringing. Raised under the policy and knowledge of Black Panthers. He was heavily aware of Black people and their struggles and how to overcome. He was an activist at times just got caught up into a wrong lifestyle. Cole just has potential to be the best he can be. Just #JCOLE

I don’t know if this is genuine or for publicity. But either way, good to see him out w the regular folk.

We need bigger voices out there representing.

    1. 1KillMovez1 says:

I don’t think its publicity its just timing. Plus the prostest was in New York the incident took place in New York J Cole lives in New York its LOCAL!

  4. yeah says:

It really can never hurt you when you do things like this

  5. Judge Joe Dredd says:

I like what Jermaine Cole is doing at least he cares for the next man…. I think it’s time for me to finally come to NY.

B.Dot and YN…… I’ll need a column on RR during my stay to document, journalize and earn a few a dollars while standing up for the culture and my fellow brethren. Let’s set it up……

  6. Da Business says:

I fux w/ Cole and it’s gr8 to see dudes like him take a stand but, protesting ain’t going to change shit. No disrespect to cats like Killer Mike and Cole but, until niggas that have real POWER like say a Jay, Puff, 50, and even Em for that matter takes a stand, ain’t shit poppin off.

    Just my 2cent…

    1. b r z a says:

this is a sad but completely true statement

    2. Dafuq says:

      100% agree.

And them niggas are too invested w large margin companies, that they are handcuffed on what stance they can take politically.

      1. Da Business says:

It’s so disappointing. I’m @ the point where it doesn’t even bother me anymore. it is what it is.

    3. Kingly_Caracter says:

So the Civil right’s movement was a fluke??? You wouldn’t even have a computer if they didn’t do exactly this (if you are black). Brother…it does do something VERY important. Raise awareness, instill unity, and empower those that are afraid to take action alone. Far from pointless. You do have a major point about power…but unity IS power also. I refuse to depend on “star power” to do the trick. They have just as much influence as you do. Don’t doubt your own ability to change YOUR world brother. Bless.

      1. Da Business says:

Bruh, I feel where u’re coming from but, let’s be real.

        1. Kingly_Caracter says:

Me too man…Your points were on point (pun intended). But you’re right that if no further “permanent” action is forced by us the people (including building monetary power)…then yes most of this is in vain. Indeed this is a VERY uphill battle. And truth is it will never truly go away…The truth is what we’re up against today is but a taste of the past. We can do this. A cut today is a scar tomorrow…scars are necessary to remind us of our actions or lack there-of”. Don’t give up bruh…real shit. Bless.

      2. Mike Green says:

it was a fluke. the most important people from that movement were killed nothing changed, sure black people can sit in front of the bus but when you actually go on a bus where all the black people in the back. the slave mindset is still there man trust me. and no rapper today has that mega power like we like to think otherwise why you think it hasn’t happened. Jay is with Beyonce on a fucking vaca for his bday. it doesn’t bother me as much cause i don’t expect them to do that type of thing sure he might but a bar in a song about whats going but that won’t help. THE PEOPLE need to gather around and fight the injustice we are always looking up for help when you me and everyone else in this world has a VOICE.

    4. THE REAL mac DIESEL says:

    5. keepmaIIIzohpin says:

you speak foolishness. Should use that 2 cents to try and gain some knowledge. These people have no real power or money. Especially Puff. Nasty dude. 50 does but not for long. Jay will because he’s….well do your research

  7. el jim chapo guzman says:

its illegal on both ends. Get to arresting those involved. The police were doing their job….unfortunately the subject Mr Garner was busy resisting. When will folks get it through their heads resisting arrest never works AND could cost them their life or risk serious injury? If you are wronged by the Police, there are many legal ways to fix that and it happens many times a year. Its completely ignorant to blame the Police in either the Ferguson incident or the NY incident. They are doing their jobs and the subjects are resisting. If the general public were respectful, we would have alot less crime, alot less death and alot less problems.

          3. el jim chapo guzman says:

            FUCK YOU!!!

    2. M.A.T. says:

Did you not watch the video? He didn’t physically resist at all. The only resist he did was vocally question them and they couldn’t even talk to him or tell him why they stopped him. Instead the cop just goes behind him and starts choking him. I’m sorry, in this case you’re fucking wrong. The man’s dead. He’s fucking dead and it’s on video. There was no reason to choke him out when he wasn’t physically fighting back. He even told them that he couldn’t breathe and the guy didn’t let go. Instead he held onto the choke even after they already had him on the ground and he was no longer a threat.

      1. el jim chapo guzman says:

you think that it’s unfair that they get arrested for committing crimes, and How did someone kill someone by a heart attack?

        1. M.A.T. says:

    3. b r z a says:

this may be the case in certain situations but this is mad ignorant

      1. el jim chapo guzman says:

        garner did it to himself.

    4. david says:

I feel thankful in this moment that I do not know you in real life or in any capacity beyond your consistent thread of hateful and tragicaly misinformed comments on here. You have a feeble, terrible mind bro. No cognitive dissonance and all absolutes is going to only perpetuate the constricted thought patterns that allow shit like an unarmed man being murdered by an officer for selling loose cigarettes to exist as a status quo. He was hardly resisting arrest and he exhibited no aggression and posed zero flight risk. That police officer held him down, hands on throat, as he pleaded for his life. Then he killed him. There is nothing ok with this. This is legalized murder and it is ONE instance of a larger context of frequent officer misconduct in the arrest of black suspects. Cut the nonsense man.

The human rights of black people have been compromised over and over and over and over again. You are part of the problem because you have this powerful veil that allows you to not see this as a problem and to not see the overall racial sickness this country suffers from.

      1. el jim chapo guzman says:

First, most criminals lie when confronted with arrest.

He had been arrested over 30 times, he knew the drill and right or wrong, once he was told he is under arrest it is time to comply.

We do not know how long cops had been talking to him, it could of been 30 minutes before someone started filming.

Cops are taught when you use force, you use overwhelming force to end the resistance quickly. The faster you get control the less likely someone will get hurt.

“If they had just taken ONE MINUTE to talk to the guy, and the other people there, instead of violently restraining him, this could have been avoided.” It could also been avoided had Garner just complied and then “talked” to the cops about the charges.

Lastly, Mr. Garner pulled his arms away from the cops and said, “DO NOT TOUCH ME”. Like it or not this is a textbook example of resisting arrest.

        1. Savimbi says:

          You are an idiot

          1. el jim chapo guzman says:

            thank you asshole.

    5. Honestly says:

You insist on proving at every instance that you’re a racist moron, so congratulations for hitting your quota for the day.

      1. el jim chapo guzman says:

        thank you asshole.

    6. marty mcfly says:

There were 5 officers on Mr Garner while he had one arm behind his back and the other in a handcuff and an officer with his arm around his neck. He said “I cant breathe” eleven times….. COMEONSON gtfoh. If you are wronged there is not a way to legally fix it. Between 2009 and 2014 there have been over a thousand cases where a person reported that they were choked by an officer and ZERO charges were filed against any officer in any case.

      1. el jim chapo guzman says:

first off the cop didn’t mean to kill him, 2nd he was resisting arrest.

        1. marty mcfly says:

What he mean he didnt mean to kill him? You need to watch that video again. Now have somebody choke you for the same amount of time that Garner was choked? also while others are restricting your breathing? You will either die and suffer brain damage or heart failure. The cop definitely wanted to kill him.

          1. el jim chapo guzman says:

you making this up marty, Most of us know when we break the law, but some of us don’t want to pay the price for doing it. I can’t breathe” doesn’t mean you should stop trying to cuff a criminal. my friend work at the fire dept. and they go through a lot of prisoner checks because they will use tactics like faking seizures, heart attacks, breathing problems to prevent being cuffed and get the police to not arrest them.

          2. marty mcfly says:

The man said he cant breathe eleven times bitch. And again YOU CAN SEE THE CHOKE WITH YOUR OWN EYES. I didnt say they should stop trying to cuff him, im saying they could of at least allowed the man to breathe. You had one man on the ground with several police on top of him. He wasn’t going no where and even if he did? So the fuck what, they know where the man is from and he aint gonna outrun nobody but he was already on the ground. The fact that you saw the officers kill him and you still dont think that was excessive is another example of your disconnection from human life and peoples right to live.

          3. el jim chapo guzman says:

If he couldn’t breathe how did he get the air to pass over his vocal cords to say I can’t breathe 6 times?

    7. marty mcfly says:

The man had several officers on him while he had one arm behind his back and another arm being held by another cop and at one point he had a knee on his head and he was being choked. He said “I Cant Breathe” eleven times and was still choked for a longer period of time. Thats not necessary period. And there is no a way to legally handle the situation in particular. Between 2009 and 2014 over a thousand people reported that they were choked by police and ZERO charges were filed against any officer in any case.

      1. el jim chapo guzman says:

This is a perfect example of how AA people justify criminal mentality. He was a CRIMINAL 33 ARRESTS. Thank GOD for the police

        1. marty mcfly says:

33 arrests and all non violent crimes. Again since 2009 over a thousand people have been choked by the ny police department and none have been charged. The officer used a choke move on camera and killed a man right in front of your eyes that in no way possible was able to get off the ground with several officers over him.

          1. el jim chapo guzman says:

Having your hands up while they are trying to cuff him is precisely a situation of resisting arrest. You are confused.

          2. marty mcfly says:

And murder is murder. He did not resist either. he could’ve at least thrown a punch if you wanna run with that but putting your hand sup is what most people do when the police move on them because they dont wanna be shot fool.

          3. el jim chapo guzman says:

That’s where you’re wrong. That IS resisting. If the cops surround your house and say “come out, we’ve got you covered” and you politely say “that’s swell guys, but not right now I don’t feel like it,” you ARE resisting arrest. It has NOTHING to do with physically fighting back. And if you refuse to come out, the cops will come in to get you. And if you get all nervous and have a heart attack when the tear gas comes through the window, so be it. It’s your fault.

          4. marty mcfly says:

Well none of that is what happened. Again the shit is one tape. Clearly by simply the officer loosing his arm and allowing the man to catch his breathe he may have lived but again have somebody choke you for the same amount of time and also have people on top of you with your arms pinned, chest down with your head turned as your being choked. Once you pass a certain limit of time there is no coming back. Your lack of respect and value for human life is less then an animals and furthermore Fuck you

          5. el jim chapo guzman says:

Virtually every criminal who resists arrest and puts the cops in a position where they have no choice but to subdue him physically then claims “I can’t breathe”. It’s a tactic. They all do it. It’s called malingering.Stop being so gullible. Thank God you’re not a cop you’re so gullible you wouldn’t make it past day one. Some criminal will use the “hey your shoes are untied” bit on you and then we’d be seeing your pic on the front page under the caption “Officer Slain”.

        2. marty mcfly says:

The officer had been sued twice for misconduct on the job as well. On top of you witnessing him kill a man on tape.

          1. el jim chapo guzman says:

police did not kill eric, eric had a heart attack.

          2. marty mcfly says:

Thats a lie. He died from being choked and the damage from that led to his heart attack. The cause of death was loss of oxygen and the damage to his neck was extensive and shows his air was cut off and on top of that he was face down with police of top of him with his head turned. Now if the chest and stomach can not expand and you are being choked and there are people on your back and there are hands in your face for three to four minutes you will die. Another thing is THE SHIT IS ON VIDEO DUMBASS.

          3. el jim chapo guzman says:

Again..don’t resist. I’ve been pulled over several times. I comply, I follow direct instructions and my god it’s a miracle, I am still here..VERY IMPORTANT, LIFE SAVING, FOLLOW DIRECT INSTRUCTIONS. He lost his life because he think he as cute, resisting arrest. Bob Marley said it best ” many more will have to suffer, many more will have to die”

          4. marty mcfly says:

He didnt resist bitch. You just a piece of shit thats all.

          5. el jim chapo guzman says:

How he didn’t resist don’t touch me don’t touch me sounds like resisting to me.

  8. TrickTricktheMayor says:

Not saying he doesn’t care but seems a bit calculated with album coming around.

    1. M.A.T. says:

I would say it’s a coincidence. To say that he’s out there to get publicity for his album is a bold claim. That would mean he’s trying to capitalize off of a tragedy. I think when you look at how the album is coming out with no single, he obviously isn’t seeking attention or acceptance. If anything, I think it’s just where he’s at in life. He’s starting to realize what really matters in this world.

      1. TrickTricktheMayor says:

no single but footage of him at places where the world is watching gets him a lot of pub and he looks like a good guy at the same time, not saying he is doing this but nothing surprises me from anyone, if Bill Cosby can be drugging and raping people (allegedly) anything is possible. we don’t truly know these people like that.

        1. david says:

He was in Ferguson months ago. No entourage. No press releases. Declined interviews. He isn’t there for publicity.

          1. TrickTricktheMayor says:

but you still knew he was there the cameras were rolling.

          2. david says:

True. Of course i can’t know for sure. I don’t see this as opportunistic though.

        2. M.A.T. says:

I’m just pointing out that you’re making a big assumption at the possibility that he’s a horrible person with no real evidence leading towards that train of thought. Also who goes from not buying someone’s music to buying it because they’re being an activist? His fan base is going to get it regardless.

          1. TrickTricktheMayor says:

not saying he’s a horrible person just saying you never truly know anyones real intentions.

I’ve attempted to read and interpret a great deal of the posts made here–riddled with grammatical and spelling errors in the true ebonics style which is, as any intelligent person knows, a bastardization of the English language. That aside, I’ve noticed a common theme that isn’t exclusive. It’s in the majority of media reports: this man was treated so because he was BLACK. Trayvon Martin was killed because he was BLACK. Michael Brown too, RIGHT? Wake the hell up. This isn’t 1955. And Garner, along with Martin & Brown, was a CRIMINAL. Blacks want SO BADLY for these three men to be dead due to color that it’s PATHETIC. There’s another politcally correct term floating around now, and if any of you animals are interested, look it up. It’s called ‘black fatigue’. What blacks are failing to see is that, due to their stupidity–inherent, OBVIOUSLY–no other race gives a DAMN when a black person dies. They’re RELIEVED. But the ignorant protesting will continue, riots, thievery and destruction will be how blacks communicate, and profane behavior will still be called black ‘culture’. Be warned, though. ‘Black fatigue’ is spreading which could, quite possibly, lead to people being attacked due to color. That should make blacks happy, for it seems it’s what they want…
