Nicki is a beautiful girl, and for that reason, she gets away with a lot of subpar lyrics. If she were a male rapper, I think she’d receive a whole lot more backlash, especially with claims of being “the best.”
So true, the mainstream is letting people get away with murder in hip-hop because of looks or a co-sign. This is why a majority of the hip-hop music I rock with is not on the radio. I know you can’t escape it all together, but if all the major labels were to crash today, It would not effect what hip-hip I currently listen to. I feel good about that.
