  2. Lucky Lefty says:

The reason I started watching Sportscenter religiously as a kid. He talked like us, which made it more relatable. I heard him mention the likes of Mobb Deep and Wu Tang before they were even mainstream names. Next time you hear a hip hop related quote or word during any news brodcast, you can thank Stu for that. As cool as the other side of the pillow. You’ll be missed, Stu. Prayers to his daughters and the rest of his family.

      nigga shut your ass up..

.. he was not the reason you watched Spotscenter !!!

      with that said

      RIP

      1. Lucky Lefty says:

Because you know me in real life. Smh. I don’t even know why I’m responding. But, here you go.

    2. alex says:

I was 5 or 6 and became a Sports fanatic right when Stuart Scott was just a young anchor on sports center. I knew more about sports when I was that age than I do now, much like you I watched it “religiously”. My dad’s friends still joke how they used to quiz me on obscure sports questions and I would know the answer because I watched sports center everyday. I never realized how much of an impact Stuart Scott had on the inner city and how relatable he made the sports entertainment world which seems to be less and less now but at a time seemingly only reported on by white people. I remember dressing up as a sports caster for halloween one year and telling people I was Stuart Scott. My point is he didn’t just make sports relatable for you he made me love it as well. He obviously blurred the lines and I am just now coming to realize this. I feel like there is a part of my childhood died with his death. Just thought you should know that. I loved him to and I was a young white kid who didn’t know any better or cared for that matter about race relations. He will be missed by everyone and weather he was black or not he was the BEST!

      BOOOOYAHHHHH!!!!

      1. Lucky Lefty says:

Well said, couldn’t have said it any better. Salute, man!

  3. Kris Kompute says:

So glad that Yall posted this. He was the first, consistent on-air journalistic personality that didn’t work for a music network who pushed the hip-hop culture forward. No matter where you were from, we all grew up knowing a black sports anchor by name. RIP.

  4. MR. UNDI$PUTED THE MOGUL says:

  6. Yamzz says:

Rip Stuart Scott man. A man that exemplifies good strength and will. No matter how awful and painful his therapy might have been he never let you know by the looks of him. He brought hip hop into the sports world and influenced many others to do the same. He’s the reason why John Buccigross (or however you spell it) goes by “Bucci Mane”

  7. beautydior says:

“Some days there won’t be a song in your heart. Sing anyway.” #RIP @StuartScott

  8. blackbeltbreeze says:

“When you die, that doesn’t mean you lose to cancer,” Scott said on the stage, eliciting comparisons to the speech that Valvano gave at the EPSYS shortly before his death. “You beat cancer by how you live, why you live and the manner in which you live. So live. Fight like hell, and when you get too tired to fight, lay down and rest and let someone else fight for you.” … free jewels. thank you Mr. Scott.

  9. Stuart Scott will be miss. He is the reason why I started watching Sports Center…………..FUCK CANCER.

  10. Judge Joe Dredd says:

    R.I.P Stuart Scott… you’ll be missed.

Big Homie, you are an illiterate son of a bitch…. Nigga proof read before you post, and if you’re not sure get someone with a bigger brain than yours to check for grammatical errors…. HESU CHRISTO.

    1. Honestly says:

At this point it’s offensive, like why would you have the most illiterate motherfucker on your team writing the RIP post of a journalist legend? Two grammatical errors that I counted off the top of my head & just the awkward suggestion that “after his lost to cancer” which not only has a spelling error but goes against everything the man said in his final public speech…really a disgusting display of writing & integrity & the legend deserves better.

  11. ALMIGHTY ESCO...FK YOU BAMA'S! says:

Damn rip stu…brought that hip hop flavor to espn. .. remember him in the Luke video..salute

  12. Honestly says:

Simply, the coolest. Rest in peace to the legend.

  13. 7figures says:

One of his classic lines was “you ain’t gotta come gone but you gotta get the hell outta here”… Rip Fuck cancer !! Fruits and Veges

  14. 7figures says:

  15. Balla says:

RIP Stu. Shit is so sad, i feel for his two daughters man, That shit is terrible.

Big homie pick up a fucking book you dumb motherfucker

  16. The man is a legend and I wish his family the best in life. It’s always sad to see a progressive brother pass away. It’s with these things that people should stop protesting stupid and trivial things and instead, protest for better education and health!

  17. GOD BLESS THE DEAD REST IN PEACE MY G

  18. FLASH KID says:

Rap radar cannot write a simple paragraph without butchering the English language. Can someone please translate the paragraph for us?

  20. el jim chapo guzman says:

Espn lucky they had stephen a smith.

  21. sway-z says:

Anybody in their late 20’s and up who remembers sportscenter when it started getting popular knows how much Scott changed the game. He was the first broadcaster to include hip hop culture who didn’t come off overly corny. Michael Smith, Stephen A. Smith, most of these contemporary black analysts owe a lot of their careers to this dude, R.I.P.

  22. Van Sertima says:

rest in peace – i grew up on stewart scott.

Beat Cancer By How You Live.

  23. Greenbergs says:

there should actually be a scientist or some smart ass dude that releases a guide book on how to avoid cancer…foods, lifestyle, etc…
