  1. Uncle Tom says:

I understand this is the new west coast sound but please come up with a little originality with the beats, I mean that’s all these basic illiterate rap fans pay attention to anyways so why pick the same sounding exact beat for every fucking song smh

    1. general lucci says:

New wtf you been? Go home and listen to j cole kid.

  2. so from now on every west coast track is going to sound like it was produced by dj mustard what happen to creating your own sound but im forgetting what era were in were corporations own radio stations and strip clubs dictate whats hot

    1. Eastside BP says:

You do realize that everything Mustard…I mean Mike Free did was based on Mob Music right?

      1. im from brooklyn so i dont really know the history of the sound correct me if im wrong but i heard that was a bay area sound and mustard took the sound and ran with it

        1. Eastside BP says:

Mustard and his ghost producers put their spin on Bay beats and ran with it. Up until very recently all you heard in LA clubs and in the hood was Bay music so it was only natural that they were influenced by what they heard and grew up on.

          1. no doubt but the mess up part people that arent from the west identify that as the mustard sound but its good thing that ya ll are letting them know were the sound originated from

        2. TopNotchN3gro says:

It’s been going on forever. Recognition goes to LA versus the Bay Area, smh.

          1. so who created the sound first was it the bay or was it LA because he told me a dj /producer named mike free created something called mob music and thats were mustard took his sound

          2. TopNotchN3gro says:

Producer Rick Rock and Tracks-A-Million have been on the scene making those type of beats forever which ushered in the “Hyphy Movement” when that sound got nationally popular. All you gotta do is listen to E-40’s older work (Grit and Grind), Mac Dre, The Federation, and peep out the years they came out (which was way before anything from Pusha Ink The Label came out with) and you will see the originality. Snoop Dogg’s “Candy” was produced by Rick Rock.

          3. i have been hearing that for a few years but the problem with any movement theres always somebody that may not be fully in that scene but with the right connections they can take a certain style or sound & add there own spin on it & blow up off of it

    2. el jim chapo guzman says:

What’s good my nigga, mustard is the new dre in the west, the only difference is mustard beats wack.

      1. whats good my G no doubt about that dre beats were dope mustard is just recycled garbage and i cant figure how these kids cant hear there listening to the same sound over & over smh

        1. el jim chapo guzman says:

The kids are slow these days.

  3. Bkmkj says:
