The King Of The Dot’s Blackout 5 is going down this weekend in Toronto.. The pay-per-view two-day rap battle event held a press conference last night and Drake took questions from the press to discuss his involvement and why he currently doesn’t partake in battle rapping.
Why do people want to see regular rappers battle rap? To embarrass themselves?
The same way ppl don’t ask battle rappers to make a hit record, they would embarrass themselves. Ppl don’t like a rapper and do anything to wanna see that person fail. Dude be popping since MySpace, let it go. He’s nice
as hip hop is built on that competitive spirit, technically battle rapping should just be another tool in every rapper’s arsenal. nevertheless, we’ve given passes on what’s expected of rappers by creating categories of types; that’s why popular artists nowadays aren’t expected to get called out, or battle……kendrick, slaughterhouse & em have helped to bring some of that competitive spirit back. in my opinion.
Because battle rappers are all liars anyways and even though it is underground the threats of death by gun or just whatever they say aside from the drug selling shit is the commercialism in battle rap.. It is tough to convery what I mean but its fake shit anyways.. A good battle rapper should be funny and trolling not super threatening like he could kill someone. Thats why I am turned off to battle rap.. They think being king soda pop bad ass killer is the way to go.. Nah when serius jones at Jin alive he was being racist as fuck and funny as fuck at the same time. THe art is lost on these new “battle rappers” It is a huge turn off and I don’t really care about it anymore especially now that serious jones aint on the scene heavy like he was.
