  11. marty mcfly says:

You people are more concerned with Tidal then the actual music. Tidal is a service, thats all it is. Wayne killed this shit.

    1. Kingly_Caracter says:

Personally… It has nothing to do with economics, race, or seafood. I simply can get music for less or free. And those avenues still make money without this velvet rope approach. Jay Z should be able to also. And if we are to talk about support… google Jay Z’s Tidal employee photos. Only thing whiter is Tide (with bleach activation). Let me know when you spot a black face, or anyone with at least a tan… (And before anyone says it, black people exist in europe also).

I refuse to support someone based on color affiliation alone. The majority of the products I use have no racial importance. I don’t even know who the CEO is of most things I use to be exact. I hold Jay by the same standards business wise as anyone else. make a service that’s worth it, and I will buy. Simple.

      1. marty mcfly says:

You say “personally…” Ok well my comment struck a nerve or else you wouldn’t feel compelled to respond and if it didn’t then my comment still rings true to some regard. You also say “the velvet rope approach” but why do people always talk about Jays success then? They bring the “velvet rope” aspect of Jay Z to the conversation even when it doesn’t apply. Tidal is about MUSIC and thats the one point that the haters are missing. Now if you don’t like Tidal, how many other places can you go for music? Why the hate? Now you talk about Tidal’s employee photo but is Tidal about a photo or about music? Why can’t white people work for Jayz? Is that a problem? How many black people would you like Jayz to hire in order to make it ok for white people to work for him? How many black people have worked for Jayz since Rocafella? How many black artists as he put on? How many black people’s college education has he paid for with his scholarship program in the last ten years? So outta all Jays businesses where many black people have worked, one photo of the Tidal office got you feeling some kinda way cause you see a room full of white people? Again why the hate? You say you hold Jayz to the same business standard? I highly doubt you’ve hated on any other music platform like you already are doing with Tidal. Not all the hate directed at Tidal is about race but a significant amount of it is because 99% of these same people hating, don’t hate on YouTube, Spotify, Itunes, etc… The saved all the hate for the day Jayz through his name in the hat. And again, Tidal is about music. People made it about Jayz.

        1. Kingly_Caracter says:

So… It’s safe to assume you absolutely LOVE to use the word “hate” loosely. And you completely misread everything I just wrote…

          RECAP TIME:

          1) “Velvet rope” has nothing to do with the club or any persons actual wealth by the way. It’s a marketing phrase used to describe a hurdle that costs money on order for you to get access to a service. I’m stating that this hurdle for many like me is the reason I won’t use Tidal. I can get the same content for free, instantly… Do you pay for things you can get free? If so, I have some fresh air I need to get off my hands…For the low!!!!

          2) “It’s about the music” you said. Yet you are the one who suggested an old white man would have been better supported. I clearly stated that race doesn’t mean shit to me the product does… However I reference his predominantly white employees to illustrate that race isn’t important to Jay Z either. He’s not entitled to do anything for me and the same for me to him. Because I won’t support a black business that doesn’t make monetary sense I’m a crab…a hating crab? Or am I resourceful and money concious? You determined that peoples decision to not use this service was somehow because Jay Z is black??? If you think this is about the music to Jay Z you are delusional. Half of the artists up there don’t even own the rights to their music to begin with. Debut platforms are most likely the most control most artists will have of their music. This song will end up on I tunes and Spotify soon enough. Because people actually use it…

          3) Please research the word “Hate”… Hate has no reason, facts, or logic. I presented valid reasons why it’s not worth it. You’re just bothered that I backed up my reasoning logically, for some reason. I’m confused… How does “I don’t like this” translate to all out hate?

But like I said… My view. And based on the millions of people (and hardcore Jay Fans like myself) that DON’T use Tidal, I think it’s safe to say it’s because the service is a flashy rip off “A-la-boo-boo”. Good day chap.

          1. marty mcfly says:

You said I love to use the word “hate”? Ok but keep in mind my comment wasn’t talking to you. You decided to jump in. You brought up the “velvet rope” so my response was only to something you brought up. As far as getting music for free? Go ahead, I never said you must get Tidal, do what you wanna do. You said race don’t mean shit to you? YOU jump in, my comment was not directed at you in the first place but you decided to reply to it. You say race isn’t important to Jayz? Well Tidal is not about the importance of race. You feel some type of way after seeing a photo of white employees at Tidal but Tidal is about music. Do you go to concerts and look to see how many white people work backstage? No cause your concern is who is on the stage for music. Tidal is a platform for music. I didn’t call you a crab. You responded to a comment that was addressed to you. Yes I think Tidal is about the music to Jayz because without the music there would be no Tidal service. Now you keep talking as if my comments were directed at you personally? Look at my initial comment again, it had nothing to do with you until you decided to jump in front of it. You feel some type of way because there is an aspect to what I said thats true.

          2. Kingly_Caracter says:

Cool… For the record, I know you weren’t coming at me personally. I said “personally” to state that I’m not representing everyones opinion… I thought that was obvious. Silly me for commenting in a comment section… We’re just having a discussion tho right?

Any who, Tidal is not just a music service… It’s a music service that is hindering music from being heard because of it’s monopolized subscription roadblock for a sub-par service. The money is literally before the music in this case, yet you keep saying its about the music first. You do get that right… Tidal is the problem. That’s why you hear it overtake each post. Because we are being forced to use it before we even know what we’re buying. That’s what struck my nerve to answer your earlier question.

          3. marty mcfly says:

No, you had a bunch to say about me addressing the “hate” Tidal is getting as if my comment was directed at you. If you don’t represent everybody else’s opinion then realize when a comment is made in general that it isn’t just aimed at you. Tidal is a music service, however you wanna rationalize it thats what it. Jayz is not forcing people to get Tidal but in multiple aspects the business model makes sense. Yes its about the music because if Jay said Tidal is about nothing? Nobody would pay for it. Obviously when people do it has to do with music. You say Tidal “is a problem” because the people are being “forced” to use it? No Jayz aint “forcing” anybody to do shit. In the aspect of paying for music? There are underground artists that ask people to pay for their music and its not a problem and they ask people to pay in advance for pre orders and its not a problem. On a “service” level, concert promoters ask you to pay for tickets before the show like Tv networks have a pay per view option for you to click on first before you see whatever it is you want. In multiple aspects what Jayz is doing with Tidal has been around for years already and people didn’t have no problem with any of that but now they see Jayz doing some shit and “its a problem”?

          4. Kingly_Caracter says:

            Nevermind bruh…

          5. marty mcfly says:

Don’t people gotta pay for Eminem’s SiriusXM radio? I didn’t hear nobody complain when Em set up a platform for music.

          6. Kingly_Caracter says:

I think you pay just for siriusXM as a whole and get access to all stations or a large group. However… None of the music is exclusive to my knowledge. Look, I don’t mind paying for music services. It just has to be worth it. Tidal isn’t just yet. Slightly higher quality music isn’t enough for most people.

          7. GetReal says:

honestly marty is right i think you’re just realizing that

          8. Kingly_Caracter says:

Honestly… I never thought he was completely wrong at all. It’s just I was trying to illustrate why Tidal is being rejected by most listeners. Not because of race or “the crab syndrome”. There’s simply already services out there that provide more for free or less. That’s where the Tidal “hate” comes from. All that other stuff was extra…LOL!

          9. brza says:

Just give up! This kid ultimately wants to make the argument about race on every topic! I’ve tried with him before and it always comes down to the “old white man” and how white people are basically the Devil blah blah blah when that’s not even what we’re talking about to begin with! He just baits on every post. Never sees eye to eye with you unless you 100% agree with his race card shenanigans

          10. Kingly_Caracter says:

            LOL!… Well then.

        2. brza says:

At this point I am convinced you enjoy baiting people! He has a valid point as do you but you’re purposely trying to “strike a nerve” with other readers! Agree to disagree and get on with it? And you always have to bring the “old white man” into the conversation? We get it! Your upset in regards to racial inequality. Maybe take that frustration and do something positive with it rather than arguing with random rap fans on the internet! You have valid points but feel the need to spin it around on everybody while ultimately making the discussion about race

          1. marty mcfly says:

But yet you say I have a “valid point”…. Exactly

          2. brza says:

Exactly nothing! I was trying to point out that everybody is entitled to their own opinion but yours is just “race card this and race card that”. Every time that you post it’s about the “old white man” lol give it a rest already with the Jay/ Tidal nut hugging bs and take your race card debate elsewhere! Shit is tired! So once again exactly nothing

      2. brza says:

This guy gets it! Nailed it

You have to admit, Wayne is getting better and better these days.

  15. BlackCrown216 says:

This shyt bumps in the whip.
Wayne wanted to prove to young bug that nobody can do his style better than him but its the reason why he went cold in the streets and stopped being viewed as the greatest rapper alive. He needs to stick to his older carter style and just get more thoughtful and complex with his wordplay. If it ain’t broke…don’t fix it. Shit wasn’t broke….so he went and broke it for no reason.

I can see so many different features on this song its ridiculous.

    Kanye
    Krit
    K.dot
    Em
    Hov
    Maybe Ross.
    Ace hood…..

  16. KILLA says:

Shit like this is what makes people resent Tidal even more. A 30 second snippet to listen to a song? Are you fuckin’ serious? Fortunately, I found another site that has the full song… http://urbanmusichq.co/song/031215-lil-wayne-glory/

I read on the net that lil wayne joined hov as a co owner on tidal ……… one thing I just thought about is that ….. the difference between tidal and spotify / apple .. etc thats gonna make tidal successful is that these artist are their own boss they can create exclusive content an be flexible … where as the other sites like apple spotify … you are just an artist .. to the company ….. I see where hov is goin with this …
