Coming off one hell of an awesome year, the rising star from the Nation’s Capital steals the spotlight for XXL freshman showcase.
“Coming from D.C. it’s big, because I’m the real D.C., and just for another artist to break out from the area, they going to love this. In the city, we don’t have these types of things happening right now, so to have two people from the DMV on this year’s list is a huge thing. A lot of artists from the DMV are doing their thing, so we just breaking in the door right now with this cover to lead the way for them to come right on in.”
Not trying to be disrespectful, but shouldn’t XXL just make the Freshman list all producers since they are the ones that get people hyped over most of the artist from the 2015 Freshman. The most recent list is full of rappers that seem unnatural in the environment of the platform XXL is supposed to give to upcoming artist.
