Pharrell is the new Michael Jackson

    1. truth says:

      Um NO! He just Pharrel

      1. marty mcfly says:

You say that is if Pharrell is the local paperboy in your neighborhood? No. I made the comment for musicality reasons after hearing the writing style of this song. Don’t be so quick to be a crab.

        1. ayohellno says:

great song. but that is still a resounding NO to your first comment.

          1. marty mcfly says:

Ok, nothing wrong with that. There are reasons why I made the comment and these kinda songs cross genres, they resonate with all walks of life and they get played alot on pretty much every forum where music is played and they carry a message. Michael Jackson was known for making these kinda songs (Earth Song, Heal The World, Black And White). Again, I’m not saying Pharrell is exactly like Michael Jackson doing the moonwalk. I’m talking about the style of this song. Aside from also the fact he’s consistently hitting high notes, and wearing tight pants with his socks showing. LOL

          2. ayohellno says:

i agree that this song crosses demographics, pharrell has been incredible at that since the beginning. but michael jackson is something else. we’re talking about the biggest pop star to EVER exist. thriller is the highest selling album of ALL time, pharrell hasn’t even been apart of an album that’s had an ounce of the cultural impact. and that’s not saying pharrell hasn’t done major stuff, he obviously has. but, michael is in another realm of talent. we’re talking about amazing singing ability, great dancer, great song writer, had some of the most technically advanced shows of their time; the ONLY comparison you could make to michael, are the beatles, but even then, you’d be comparing 4 people to 1 person. the ONLY things pharrell are great at, is songwriting and fashion. he’s an average singer, and a very average performer. but i love them both.

          3. marty mcfly says:

“I agree this song crosses demographics” – Bingo

I didn’t say Pharrell is actually Michael Jackson

          4. ayohellno says:

this discussion is moot, pharrell is a pop star..to say that he makes music that crosses demographics is like saying lemons are yellow.. it’s assumed lol. but i feel you tho.

          5. marty mcfly says:

My comment was about this song specifically. I said more then just it crosses genres… Happy and Freedom are not your everyday crossover record like the latest pop song. Their epic and timeless crossover songs such as songs released by Michael Jackson

      1. marty mcfly says:

Just saying “No” or “negative” means nothing. The fact you disagree with the comment means nothing because it says nothing to negate or counter the underlined meaning of my comment or any aspect of the point of my comment. Now I will say the comment was made jokingly but it don’t matter what a crab says, cause its never much anyway.

        1. el jim chapo guzman says:

comparing pharrell to Michael Jackson is like comparing a Sega Master System to a PS4.

          1. marty mcfly says:

Ok so stay stuck on what you call a “comparison” but don’t read anything beneath the surface of that comment because you won’t have any counter for it. You can disagree but that means nothing because your empty handed in your disagreeance. I gave more then 5 reasons for the comment as to specifically why it was made… The most you can say back is “No” or “negative”. Comparing your comments to mine is like throwing thin air at a documentary about the universal appeal of Michael Jacksons songs… Happy, Freedom… I’m out
