Rick Ross Announces New Album?

C.R.E.A.M.

Rozay has been quiet since his release from jail. But his lawyer Adamma McKinnon, revealed to the Daily Beast that her client is set to drop his eighth album, apparently entitled, Black Dollar.

Ross’s lawyer Adamma McKinnon told The Daily Beast her client isn’t fretting the charges, and informed local TV news that the rapper wants the world to know that his new album will be “dropping soon.” McKinnon also claimed that Ross is in high spirits, made sure to mention that his next album is tentatively titled Black Dollar, and said that he’s being framed for being famous. “He’s someone who has reached a certain plateau and there are people after celebrities like [Roberts] and looking for monetary gain,” she said.

Definately doesn’t apply to 50cent unless SKI comes out on some Kanye shit !!!!

    3. el jim chapo guzman says:

      Shut the fuck up nigga.

      1. MrDisrespectful says:

Don’t be mad at me cause your boy been pushing the same album back for years now!!! I guess he gonna go back on twitter and talk suicidal again hahahaha but he CANT blame the label this time tho. Didn’t he say Interscope wouldn’t release the album cause he wouldn’t support beats headphones? Hahaha what’s his excuse now? Don’t worry I’ll wait

    4. SDJ says:

50 cent doing other things. He got the Power television show, EFFN Vodka, SMS audio which just made a deal with Disney, and he acts in movies in general. He makes music on the side now just to keep his brand going. Plus people don’t buy real sh-t now-a-days anyway. The standard is set so low in rap now if dude sound half way decent people think it’s the best they ever heard. Rick Ross spending money on lawyers, can’t tour down south cause of the GDs, house cost a million dollars a year to maintain, and his light bill is $17,000 on month. He’s worth 35mill. he gotta keep working.

      1. marty mcfly says:

Ross don’t gotta rap at this point. He could invest and chill for the rest of his life while his money works for him. He raps cause he wants to and point blank Ross makes better albums then 50 Cent period. Oh and he can’t tour down south cause of them GDs? He lives down south and they could google his damn address… Smh

        1. Room 222 says:

          Amen to that!

Ross does make better music than 50 even though some fans say otherwise.

          1. marty mcfly says:

He been making better music then 50 for almost a decade at this point.

          2. Room 222 says:

I agree. Ross has been more consistent and certainly more prolific than 50.

          3. bcl187 says:

Umm are u on crack or deaf

          4. Room 222 says:

Actually Ross makes better actual music than 50, and you actually know that.

Ross has a better flow, impeccable production selection, better rap sounding voice.

Whether Ross was an actual drug dealer or not, I personally don’t care. I am not even refuting 50 past sales. Know that. Based on pure vocals, delivery, and production/instrumentation, Rozay is a much better rapper.

            *Drops Mic*

        2. SDJ says:

His music being better than 50 is your opinion not factual. Plus when it comes to the south I’m talking places like Tennessee. 50 just from a different era so him being around and still talked about is all he wants. Plus 50 a real street dude. I don’t care what kind of beats Ross has I just cant’ take him serious for being a complete fraud. So it’s no comparison between the two. 50 net worth $270 mill Ross 35mill. 50 first Album alone sold 12mill, 2nd Album 9mill ex. Not including all his all other platinum albums and singles.Ross will never even come close. 50 don’t gotta make music it just promotes products for him. He’s moved on to other ventures. Ross 40 years old he can’t for ever. 50 got ventures that was last way past rap.

          1. marty mcfly says:

So in your opinion 50 makes better music then Ross? Really? 50 and Ross from the same era. I don’t care about 50 Cents net worth and I can’t say 50 is more street then Ross. Until they either box or one kills the other, then they both just rappers to me. I don’t care what 50s debut sold, its not 2003 anymore. I don’t care if Ross doesn’t even sell a thousand copies, Imo MUSICALLY Ross makes better albums and overall music then 50 Cent. I don’t care what other business ventures they have.

        3. Savimbi says:

50 could’ve stopped rapping after GRODT so I’m not sure what point you are trying to make! Compared to 50 a $35 mill net worth isn’t saying much, NBA players make that, 2-3 times in a span of 10-15 years and still go broke, in that sense he still heavily relies on his music, that’s the only thing that keeps his name in the forefront and why he has to resort to publicity stunts to keep people interested. Seems like we already forgot about his car being “shot up” a few weeks before his last album came out lol. As far as Ross making better albums, that’s up for debate, but none of his albums have had them impact that some of 50’s earlier work had on the game, Power of the Dollar, Guess Who’s Back and GRODT and these albums are over a decade old. I would suggest studying catalogs before making claims like that.

          1. marty mcfly says:

What are you even talking about? I made no point about how much money 50 got. Like why are people even bringing 50s money up? I said imo Ross makes better music then 50. I don’t care how much money either of them got. I would still say though that Ross doesn’t have to rap if thats not what he wants to do. If you think a nigga like Ross put all his eggs in the rap basket? and somehow 35 million aint enough to stop rapping? Then hey thats your opinion. I highly doubt he got the police and the court involved in a situation where he’s facing real assault charges for a publicity stunt. When someone else brought up GRODT earlier I said it aint 2003 anymore so why you would go back to Power Of A Dollar and Guess Who’s Back is ridiculous. I don’t need to study 50s shit, I was up on him before most people outside of NY even knew who 50 was. I brought Guess Who’s Back the day it was released. All that is besides the point. IMO Ross MUSICALLY makes better music then 50 Cent, better albums, better mixtapes, better songs period… I don’t give a fuck who much money 50 got or what GRODT did in the game. Rick Ross for like the last 5 to 7 years has been making better MUSIC then 50 Cent. You suggesting I should study 50s music? I suggest you go study The Albert Anastasia mixtape, Ashes To Ashes, Deeper Than Rap, Teflon Don, God Forgives I Don’t, and Mastermind. Ross killed this nigga musically for the years now.

          2. Savimbi says:

How is my statement ridiculous, you simply implied that Ross makes better music than 50, meaning Ross, in your opinion has the better catalog right? And my point is that , it’s 2015 and 50’s music from over a decaded ago is still being brought up into conversations, and Ross’s music today still doesn’t compare to 50’s earlier work and the difference is due to the lack of authenticity in Ross’s music. GRODT unarguably comes up as a topic of discussion when you mention top 10 greatest albums of all times. A feat Ross as yet to achieve, And he’s a decade in. That my friend is a clear sign of who’s the superior one musically.

          3. marty mcfly says:

I didn’t even say anything about catalog? I said Ross makes better music then 50. I mean I don’t know how you getting this statement confused? Now your choosing to bring up 50s music from a decade ago? Well its not a decade ago and Ross wasn’t even out a decade ago. I get what your trying to do but I thought when I said it aint 2003 anymore that it woulda been clear what I mean? I said Ross makes better music then 50 Cent. I don’t care what 50 did 12 years ago and honestly if somebody told me GRODT was top ten greatest albums of all time id say fuck no. GRODT is one the albums that SOLD the most… Is it one of the top ten albums in a musical sense as far as rhymes in beats? Fuck no. Now this is what I’m saying, IMO Ross makes better MUSIC then 50 Cent. Ross’s ‘authenticity” imo doesn’t not effect his music because for me I just don’t care if Ross is really Scarface or not (or 50), I care about rhymes and beats and again, it aint 2003 anymore.

          4. marty mcfly says:

For example, lets take songs like Rich Is Gangsta

            Super High
            Maybach Music 2, 3, 4,
            I Love My Bitches
            Free Masons
            Amsterdam
            Yacht Club
            Paradise Lost
            Mafia Music
            Tears Of Joy
            Phone Tap
            Fire Hazard
etc… cause Ross gotta a bunch of bangers whether you think he’s Tony Montana or not.

Does Ross “authenticity” effect the SOUND of these songs? No, there either dope musically or not and for years now Ross has been making better music then 50.

          5. marty mcfly says:

When it comes to making music and making albums, Ross makes better music then 50 Cent. You know who else doesn’t make better music then early 50 Cent? 50 Cent

          6. Manuel Valls says:

To you Savimbi and everybody else questioning Ross’ authenticity or lack thereof.
-He stole the name from the real Freeway Ricky Ross. Well so did rapper Freeway.
-50 Cent took his name from actual gangster 50 Cents.
-2pac’s alias Makaveli (Italian Stateman Niccolo Macchiaveli)
-Yo Gotti, Boo & Gotti, Kurupt Young Gotti (from John Gotti)
            -Ice T (from Iceberg Slim)
-Scarface (the Fictitious Scarface character played by Al Pacino)
I could go on and on …
So that authencity/he stole his name from the real Rick Ross is really weak.
50 Cent has never killed a human being and, to his admission, doesn’t smoke and rarely ever drinks. Ice Cube has never been a player with multiple bitches (he’s married to Kim, the one he refers to on Today Was a Good Day) and has never used an AK in real life even though the aforementioned song suggests otherwise..
So that authenticity argument is a weak one. Just enjoy the music. In case you don’t like him, then don’t listen to him.

          7. Savimbi says:

It’s not about the name we understand that, the lack of authenticity was when his past as a C.O came to surface and he denied it. That’s the argument, no one questions 50’s street cred, not even his worst of enemies. And a lot of the cats you mentioned w/ the gangsta monikers actually lived/life what they rap about, unlike Ross. You’re a obviously new the genre. Check scarface and his background down in Texas w/ the ghetto boys etc but that’s neither here no there. Back to Ross, he spoke on that Lifestyle, got called out and denied for years until finally admitting it, that my friend is a cold fraud!!!! Lol

          8. marty mcfly says:

Oh about your point about basketball players making 10x more then Ross and still going broke? For all those that have done that, they deserve to be broke for being stupid. If Ross is dumb enough to go broke after making all that money then he deserves it but does he NEED to rap? Fuck no

          9. Savimbi says:

He still does because a big percentage of that net worth is coming from the music or else he’d be able to take a year or two hiatus, like say 50 lol

          10. marty mcfly says:

Ok well, some people a blow tens of millions of dollars cause they stupid. Some rappers have already prepared for the day they don’t rap anymore and they invest in other things so one day they can chill. Now maybe Ross is a dumbass? Id say judging by how he’s moved over the last few years in making tens of millions of dollars, I don’t think he’s stupid. Now if he’s gonna blow all his money from not rapping? Ok but he could still tour now for the next half decade without even making new music. He got liquor investments, wing stops and a record label and tens of millions there in case he needs it. If you think he NEEDS to rap then hey thats your opinion.

        4. SDJ says:

My point about how much Ross made compared to 50 is because Ross made a bad investment in Holyfields mansion. The bank couldn’t get rid of the property because it’s a money pit. They sat on it for years. The location of it and the cost to maintain it didn’t make since to anyone. Holyfield was making 35 mill a fight and he couldn’t maintain the property. Ross has 35 mill period. It cost 1 mill annually to maintain and 17 thousand a month for electric. It’s very easy to lose the property if you don’t maintain your livestye through out your career. The original property cost 50 mill. Ross got it for 5 mill. Its was cheaper because of the cost to maintain.

          1. marty mcfly says:

All he gotta do is come to California and holla at these billionaires in the hills buying mega mansions left and right. Problem solved. On top of that, his other business ventures still bring in money…. Liquor, Wingstop, MMG…

      2. bcl187 says:

        Yah 35 mill sellin lies

      3. FREE OFFICER RICKY says:

rick ross makes as much money as mac miller every year but only one of them is living way beyond their means to keep up an image

Oh about your point about basketball players making 10x more then 35 million and still going broke?

      2. bcl187 says:

        Yah 35 mill sellin lies

      3. FREE OFFICER RICKY says:

rick ross makes as much money as mac miller every year but only one of them is living way beyond their means to keep up an image

        1. marty mcfly says:

Just Ross didn’t have his own show on MTV and an army of teenage white girls supporting. Mac is dope though.

    5. bcl187 says:

Meanwhile curtis would own roberts ina sec

      1. Room 222 says:

Meanwhile Ross is making better music.

  3. yaaaup says:

snoooreeee.. So what this was a publicity stunt? I hate that rappers are the only genre of music where a gunshot/going to jail will supposedly help with album sales. IT WORKED WITH PAC BECAUSE PEOPLE KNEW HE WAS REVOLUTIONARY.. It doesnt work with studio gangsters like Ross because tbh nobody gives a fuck about his raps full of lies.

    1. Namaste85 says:

You really gotta be an idiot to think this was a publicity stunt. So he just forked over 500k and put up his house, not to mention he would’ve had to pay the courts, cops & the newspapers off to make it seem believable. My god, At least if you’re gonna hate use some fucking sense smh

      1. Rip JODY&SlimDunkin says:

It wouldn’t take all that all he would have to do was pay the guy place the charges on him and drop the case that simple…..but i agree with you he most likely just whooped dude ass and got snitched on

    2. BO2BROLIC says:

So homie gonna go through all this unnecessary drama including paying a huge bail to sell records even though it’s a huge gamble nigga you smoking angel dust

    3. marty mcfly says:

It worked for Pac because he was a movie star at the height of his rap career. People realized he was more then a thug after he died. Beforehand it was all about thug life and Pac wasn’t a thug. No diss to him but just saying. 99% of these rappers aint thugs or gangsters, they just don’t have any other character to play or know anything else outside of a gangster aesthetic. It pays to be a “gangster” in Hip Hop because there’s a huge audience for it and that why people do it.

      1. Mylo says:

Pac wasn’t a thug lol. He fought and shot niggas, his mom was on crack he grew up in poverty… He wasn’t a thug because he used his mind? Smh

        1. marty mcfly says:

What niggas did Pac shoot? No he wasn’t a thug and no he wasn’t a thug because he uses his mind. If Pac was a thug? Then he was a classically trained actor and performance artist, raised by black panthers that became a professional acter and rapper in his earlier 20s, Stared in movies that made tens of millions of dollars where he was either a co star or supporting head actor. He was all over hollywood as a celebrity and he was a multi millionaire before his mid 20s. If thats a thug to you then thats your opinion. He had his issues, but even if he was thug, that was probably the least of his character overall. I think Pac thought he was a thug but it aint to many thugs like 2pac cause if there were they would be successful millionaire business men with several classic movies and albums on their resume before they even turned 25. The larger point is this, niggas that run around with millions of dollars, all on tour, all on Tv and movies and hanging out with celebrities and partying all the time and shit? Not that there’s anything wrong with that but that life is what a “thug” is to alot of these youngins support they favorite rapper. Like being a thug is just talking about being a thug now. I’m not saying these niggas be squares but I can’t say they really living a “thug life”… They may of had some hard times but its not too many thugs posting pics of their mansions and phantoms on twitter and posing for every camera they can find 24/7. I’d think the niggas really living a “thug life” probably don’t wanna be on camera.

          1. Room 222 says:

No diss but I’d suggest to break it down in paragraph. It’d be more legible. Good point still.

          2. Savimbi says:

            Pac shot two cops

          3. marty mcfly says:

I know that and at the time Pac thought they were two drunk whites guys threatening him and somebody else with a gun and then breaking his car window…. Lets say Pac is a thug then? He certainly was closer to movie star, rich celebrity and successful rapper then he was a thug. He was closer to all those things, including a revolutionary then he was a thug.

          4. Room 222 says:

He shot two people that happened to be undercover cops. Nuance, Jonas Savimbi!

          5. Savimbi says:

And? Point being dudes tried shooting Pac and he shot back. Dude here is trying to paint Pac as some sort of Hollywood cookie cutter rapper who was “soft”. Now I’m not saying he was some super thug, but growing up around black panthers, who spoke on revolution amongst other things is what makes him one of the realist rappers to ever touch the mic. He was as Real as it gets.

          6. marty mcfly says:

So, its self defense. Its not like Pac did a drive by. The guy waved a gun at Pac and broke his car window, Pac shot them in the back as they walked away (which is cool with me). No I didn’t try to paint Pac as soft, what I did say about him is just the truth but there was a larger point as to where I went into about alot of these “thug” rappers period. Lastly him being raised by panthers is only further reasons why he wasn’t no thug. Again if Pac was a thug? He would be a trained actor/performer/rapper/multi millionaire businessmen etc… If thats a thug to you then so be it.

          7. Savimbi says:

Tf r u talking about? One is, as per Pac thug life was an acronym to something deeper which can be tied to his black panther background which imo is as gangsta as you can ever get because of what they stood for. And if it makes you happy no he wasn’t a thug but a Revolutionary

          8. marty mcfly says:

Thug life having another meaning only does more to say he was not a thug. You keep bringing up the Panthers? The Panthers were not thugs so when you bring them up that doesn’t help suggest Pac was a thug. Pac was trying to reach and relate to a target audience. Pac was doing the same thing Clarence 13x was doing but was he a thug? No. He acted as a thug in order to get close enough to them to give them the knowledge. Look alot of people say they thugs? Thats cool and Pac did have his thug sides to him but if you look at his moves? They were not the moves of a thug. I think Pac thought he was a thug to a degree but when he was taking them acting classes, playing roles in movies, making songs and talking like a revolutionary… Thugs don’t do none of that kinda shit. Thugs do thug shit, they put in work in the streets, they don’t put on a whole bunch of work in Hollywood and in the studio adding up to millions of dollars worth of work in business. Pac was not a thug even he if says he was and even if you say Pac was a thug? Thats cool too because nothing I said about him would change even if he was a thug.

        2. marty mcfly says:

The larger point is the rappers ya’ll thinking is living a “thug life”? They have more in common with a rich kid actor in hollywood then they do some thugs. Let Kim Kardashian hold a gun in a music video, and she would be living the same kinda “thug life” as alot of these rap thugs. None of this is a diss to Pac either btw, just perspective.

  4. yaaaup says:

Ross’s lawyer Adamma McKinnon told The Daily Beast her client isn’t fretting the charges, and informed local TV news that the rapper wants the world to know that his new album will be “dropping soon.” McKinnon also claimed that Ross is in high spirits, made sure to mention that his next album is tentatively titled Black Dollar, and said that he’s being framed for being famous. “He’s someone who has reached a certain plateau and there are people after celebrities like [Roberts] and looking for monetary gain,” she said.

Translation: My client is gearing up for another lackluster non plantinum fairytale storytelling album to pay his lawyer fees. Bitch better have my money.

It’s absurd that some of y’all keep bringing up Rick Ross’ past job as a C.O. Come on, people it’s 2015 and he has already admitted it during an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, well in case y’all do read.
Just b/c he was a C.O doesn’t mean he can’t rap. Nobody says you have to be a former criminal or drug dealer to have a Rap career. Hell, dude did the job as a TEENAGER. Leave him alone.
At this point in time, Hip-Hop is pure ENTERTAINMENT.Granted, part of it is based on actual events but it’s mainly fictitious work.
