Kanye Hurls Mic & Walks Off Pan Am Games

Air Yeezy.

The good life wasn’t on Kanye’s side at the Pan Am Games in Toronto. During yesterday’s closing ceremony, Kanye launched the mic into the air before walking off stage. The reason? A technical error. No good.

Hell Yea.. thats that OG jordan picture they took the logo from.. lol

  4. Phillip says:

Stop with the headlines you see from these other gay, non hip hop sites. He threw the mic in the crowd right after finishing his set. It’s no different from him giving the mic to a fan at the Yeezus show. Wtf you talking about technical difficulties? Watch the stream, watch the video you posted. It’s obvious that’s not the case you’re making it out to be. How about you post a video of the crowd rocking throughout the performance and change the title to Kanye performs at Pan Am

    1. what we seen and they are saying in the video is what we all draw from it..he threw the mic away cause the sound was mess up

      1. Phillip says:

Look at the video. Do you hear him? He threw the mic at the end of the chorus after “im good”.

  5. Epul says:

The fact that this nigga makes headlines for throwing tantrums like a female is ridiculous.

    1. Kris Kompute says:

Clearly was planned and wasnt a tantrum.

    2. for real if u about your peformance fuck it give your all to rock that shit regardless

  6. Ed Roli says:

looks completely stage it sounds like its the end of the song, and he’s taking time to throw it up in the air.

    Kanye West sucks.

    1. Iamstillmusic says:

Whoa, he’s one the greatest artists of the 21st century.

Y’all have to understand that a rapper is not going to be in his prime forever

      1. Dark Matters says:

I wouldn’t say that. What I would say that he’s one of the most passionately self-congratulating artists of the 21st century, though.

        1. Iamstillmusic says:

Nahh we’re on a rap blog and you can’t name one rapper more artistic than Kanye West. If so, then name him. He’s s fucking genius

          1. Dark Matters says:

Kanye’s evolution into “artiste” was done with the blood & sweat of others (people who wrote for him and people that made his beats). I agree he has had a vision and has been aggressively ambitious about it, but it hasn’t been his talent behind the wheel.

Kanye is actually really just a copy of Pharrell Williams. All of what you see Kanye doing is really just inspired by Pharrell. Except that Pharrell is far more talented than Kanye and doesn’t really require anyone’s assistance, if he doesn’t want it. Pharrell did the rap/art/high fashion thing before all of these guys (including Kanye) and he’s made countless hits for other people and himself.

How many hits for other people has Kanye made? There’s no comparison. Pharrell just doesn’t toot his own horn and he’s extra humble. However, on the real he’s MJ to Kanye’s Harold Miner – real talk.

          2. Phillip says:

I like Kanye. I like pharrell. Kanye has 21 Grammys. Pharrell has 8. 6 of those came in the last 2 years. Both are great. They even have a group together called child rebel. So they at least see the talent they both have. You can like one without bashing the other. Kanye has 5 undeniable classic albums. CD,LR, Graduation, MBDTF, and WTT. The other 2, 808 and Yeezus are both critically acclaimed and may be call classics for how gutsy both are. Pharrell is our modern day smokey Robinson. They both are great at what they do. Kanye just presented pharrell an award saying that he would not be here if it weren’t for pharrell.

          3. Dark Matters says:

I like Kanye (somewhat), too. What I don’t like is accolades being unfairly attributed to someone because they’re more mouthy and aggressive than someone else. Kanye resonates more with people simply because he’s more emotionally voluminous.

However, P is the more talented and capable of the two. Kanye is the more aggressively ambitious. That doesn’t necessarily mean he isn’t talented. He is. Just not as talented as P. It’s not bashing to say that.

          4. Phillip says:

You called him Harold minor. That is bashing. The game needs both, regardless if one is a dick and one is a nice guy.

          5. Kris Kompute says:

Now Kanye ain’t produce his own beats!? So I guess Jay-Z, Nas, Luda, TI, Jermaine Dupri, Wayne and every other heavyweight in rap was just wasting their money huh? Should’ve just got it from the ghost producer for half the price.

            You Mfs are unreal.

          6. Dark Matters says:

            “You Mfs are unreal.”

Go look at the credits on most of the critically acclaimed stuff. A lot of what he produced for Jay Z was weak with a few notable exceptions.

          7. Kris Kompute says:

I have. I’ve studied Kanye through and through.

I think you dumb Mfs don’t know how sampling works. When you sample someone, whether it is lyrically or for the musical composition, you have to include them and all of the writers/owners from that specific section in the credits.

For example, on “Izzo (H.O.V.A.)” by Jay-Z you see 7 writers in the credits . Jay-Z, Kanye and 5 other dudes. Those 5 other dudes are “The Corporation”, the in-house production and writing team for Motown in the 70’s. Since Kanye sampled “I Want You Back” by the Jackson 5, he had to give those 5 other dudes writing/production credit so they can collect their publishing royalties.

Does that mean those 5 other dudes helped produce the song? No. Half of them are dead.

Go back and study Kanye’s production discography. Look and listen to the samples he flipped. If you have trouble reading Wikipedia, use Whosampled as a reference.

You can say a lot of things about Kanye (most of which I don’t agree with, but I can see how people say it).. He’s brash. He’s an attention whore. His delivery is forced. He’s arrogant. He’s a racist. But one thing you can’t say…is that he doesn’t produce his own records.

There’s so much evidence he does and you can see who gets the breakdown of what on ASCAP’s website.

Quit being ignorant and saying stupid shit without doing research.

          8. Dark Matters says:

It’s not a secret that some of Kanye’s biggest and brightest songs were co–produced or entirely produced by other people. Feel free to further research the following names:

            Brian “All Day” Miller
            Jon Brion
            Devo Springsteen
            Mike Dean
            Jeff Bhasker
            Eric Hudson
            No I.D.
            Plain Pat
            S1
            88-Keys
            Noah Goldstein
            Chauncey Hollis aka Hit Boy

“Quit being ignorant and saying stupid shit without doing research.”

            Ditto.

            I’m done with this conversation.

          9. Phillip says:

And you talk about hits for other people…. How about hits for yourself? They both have put their stamp on the game in different ways.

          10. Dark Matters says:

Pharrell’s musical accomplishments are so vast, I’d be here forever. If you wanted to know them in full I’m sure you could research them yourself. It serves neither you or I to waste time debating this. They’re both talented and ambitious. Good luck to you.

          11. Iamstillmusic says:

You’re wrong bro. Pharrel has hits but he didn’t impact the game of the level of Kanye. 4 classic albums, 21 grammies, The Yeezys! No one has made a shoe as creative and as impactful as the Yeezys since Micheal Jordan and MJ didn’t design his. Pharrel is a genius no doubt but Kanye is walking inspiration. He changed the game with albums, production and fashion world immensely

          12. Dark Matters says:

The Yeezy’s are a template shoe largely designed by the guys at Nike. Don’t delude yourself. As I said, Kanye is talented to a degree, but he’s far more aggressively ambitious and self-aggrandizing than he is talented. And much of his talent and accomplishments are inflated by the contributions of others. Fact. I’m done.

          13. Iamstillmusic says:

No matter what you say Pharrel will never be as influential or as respected, Kanye set the standard in music and in fashion and he always dominates. Best artist of our generation

          14. Dark Matters says:

            LOOOOOOL

    2. L says:

Coming from a Young Thug fan. Sit down, you lame.

  11. Obama says:

Nobody noticed that the “technical error” was that the AutoTune wasn’t working so everybody could hear just how off-key and out of tune Kanye’s “singing” is.. “Artists” today.. SMDH…….

    1. You’re either extremely out of touch with hip hop culture or very stupid…I’ll let you decide.

  12. MrSkeezyMak says:

Now hold up, I ain’t trying to stunt, man
But Yeezy turned into the jumpman.

  13. Room 222 says:

    MISLEADING TITLE!!!

I WATCHED IT LIVE YESTERDAY. KANYE WAS DONE AND DROPPED THE MIC LIKE MANY ARTISTS SOMETIMES DO AT THE END OF THEIR PERFORMANCE.

    1. LuckyP says:

misleading? after watching over a min of the same scene, he clearly threw the mic in the air

  14. SapToad says:

Why do they hate him for?
